I do love fishing, but you’ve made awesome videos that were not about fishing. I love your garden. I love all the natural beauty you portray and the reptile videos. I love your little family. It’s always been so very good. ❤
You are one of my top 5 favorite channels. I will continue watching any content you make. Sorry about your backyard lake. I fished it for years while in college. Best crappie bite of any lake I ever fished.
I understand whole heartedly. I will not give up on you guys. You feel like part of the family. I watched your kids grow from the start. You shared Christmas with us. Jay lost her wedding ring. You gave her a beautiful one, and she cried. The joy you both have fishing and being together is what it is all about. Love you all. And God bless!❤❤❤
I completely understand your devastation. I can’t imagine looking out our backyard at what used to be to be your heaven on earth and now see wasteland. I pray things turn around in a few years otherwise your property value has taken a major hit. Best wishes Cole & Jessica and thank you for the content!🎣
I love watching your videos I miss watching the you all fishing in that lake but I watch your channel because of who you are and what you do. So keep doing what you’re doing and we will keep watching your videos. It’s your personalities and the way y’all do things is the reason people watch your channel. So keep your heads up that lake will be back in time.
I have been watching you and your wife for a while and when they started draining the lake I was devistated and when Jay started crying I felt y'all's pain and anger and hurts I love y'all and the channel will be praying for waters return
Hi Cole, Jay, Cyprus and Summer. Lake looks so sad. Thanks for taking us along with your walk in the lake. Praying for yall. God bless and love yall ❤❤
You know you can come make a video with me anytime you want to brother! I know it’s nothin like the home pond though! God bless you and your family brother!
I will always watch your videos even if you don't have water behind your house. Sorry for you both. Its got to be hard to want to have a house on the water and have someone take that from you.
Really enjoy videos in our lake. You're showing me a view, that I can't get out there to see right now. I appreciate you doing this. It will be great again someday.
My favorite lake was drained to replace the bridge that spanned the lake. It took them 3 years to complete the new bridge and another 2 years for the lake to refill. It was the longest 5 years in my life.
Try to think of it as another chapter in life. You will always have your memories and the videos of the lake. But think about the future and what a new and improved lake will be to your children. They will have the privilege of fishing a brand NEW lake and creating their own memories with you and Jay.
Hey you hang in there God has a plan you have to remember that. I'll say a prayer for you and your family. I'll also continue to watch your videos. Keep on truckin ✌️❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve enjoyed every video since I started watching I don’t remember how long ago. You always have wonderful quality, content and entertainment. I can only imagine how painful it is not having what you had and not really knowing when it might even start coming back. Hugs to you and Jay and your beautiful littles. I’ll keep watching regardless! God bless
Will pray for you and the channel that God would give you wisdom in knowing what to do next. He’s still writing your story Cole, God bless you and Jay.
True story. December 1982 Tornado hit my childhood home. My Dad had an Ugly Stick gifted to him by a Bill Dance employee that was damaged only at the place it wouldn’t flex, the reel mount. Otherwise it was still perfect. He never did get to fish with it and I guarantee it would’ve been used around Adams Lake, that was his favorite area of the lake.
Your videos are more than just entertainment, they are a journey into a world of beauty and wisdom. Thank you for your dedication!Your videos are always filled with deep meaning and emotion. Thank you for your creativity and effort!🔵🤍🥇
Cole you & Jay are great! Keep your head up! The Lord will show you exactly what you’re doing in the future! I really love the new boat too. Hopefully that lake will come back soon!
Agree with you regarding the old red and white ball bobbers. I always felt they had to much resistance to the fish and they would swim off with the bait with the the bobber trailing behind. I like a more steam lined bobber that the fish can easily pulls under allows me to set the hook. That being said the only fresh water bobber fishing I do is crappie and back in the day bream with grandkids.
Sorry about your Lake Cole😢 that has got to be hard to look out your window and see the dry Lake that was such a great fishery for so long. I’m sad right along with You
At least your kids will have childhood memories of the lake, like you did. It would have been worse if it was drained when they were teen years when most of their permanent memories are formed. Re content. Do what u can do. We’ll stick it out with you. Hugs
Yes you should definitely go everywhere you can and find more fishing gear. I'm sure there's way more out there. Id love to walk the lake with you and find some gear. Tell Jessica and kids we said hi
Cole,we are being affected by the drought up here….we fish our lake every fall, too, but this year, they’re not draining it.All our norm😢spots are gone-no idea when we can fish there again…😢😢😢😢😢yes,it bites….
Have you ever thought about moving. We have Lake Cumberland, and Green River. Here in Kentucky. I live in Columbia Kentucky and we go fishing for Bass, sturgeon, trout, walleye, just abought everything around here.
@12:40 always used cork bobbers on that lake. My dad felt like they blended in and weren’t obvious to the fish. They resembled the Cypress nuts (balls) that floated all over that lake.
Who knows. I don't want to be a pessimistic but 5 years from now we might not even be here. So do what you can do. Look on the bright side as you worry as much as I can and reach for the gusto. I don't like that beer but that's okay. Say hello to Blondie and the little people. Hope they had a good Halloween
Hopefully the bad news can turn good. Not sure about smaller lakes in your area, but a solution that worked for me was switching to a short ultra-lightweight aluminum '10 jon boat. No trailer needed just slides in my truck box and drags easy to launch without the standard boat ramp. I find the best fishing is not big lakes with concrete ramps where most anglers choose for convenient access, but rather smaller lakes without easy access that receive less fishing pressure. Maybe consider buying a small 8' or '10 jon boat so you have more fishing options and don't have to rely on ramp access. Exploring new water and fresh adventures might boost your views. When you get lemons make lemonade!
We still have our kayaks we fish out of all the time! We do our best to explore as many bodies of water as possible. There's not a whole lot within an hour from where we are now so we have to travel a lot more
@@COLE_and_JAY Well just a month ago you posted the video about buying your wife a new boat so ya'll must have plans to make good use of this purchase. 😉Whatever the case definitely getting the vibe this channel will change so the heads up is much appreciated.
Get a Vanquish 340 metal detector and use jewelry mode. Test it on lead weights to see which numbers ring up. All metal mode may give false iron beeps because of the minerals. 440 has user defined discrimination settings to cancel out mineral interference.
Most of the Coke bottles on the bottom tells you where they were made, and sometimes what year would be interesting to see if the bottles were made near your area
Have you considered meeting with local and HQ DNR lake managers, elected officials, etc., to discuss creating a local lake chapter focused on partnering with them to provide funding and volunteer labor events to create and enhance fish habitat through fund raisers, raffles, banquets and the attention your channel could provide? Low compaction tracked excavators and local operators could dig deep holes and habitat channels between stumps with the dug material sidecast to form low height islands to create more diverse habitat for fish, gators and waterfowl. This has been done on lakes in my area. You could create a few episodes to turn this into a joint success story... maybe show your local created chapter and volunteers working with DNR to install cedar stake bed crappie structures while the lake is dry. Invite experts on your episodes to explain the project benefits and contact bigger partners like Bass Pro Shop to possibly help partner. Its great advertising for them too. Bass Pro donated "habitat barges" to local lakes in my area for annual fish structure installation projects after contacting them with an organized plan. I hope you can turn a frustrating situation into a great cooperative opportunity that you could lead if you have the time and local support.
That does suck and even after they stock it, it probably will be another 3 to 5 years before any good sized fish are in there. Won't be like it was for many many years. Crazy they did that imo.
Got to take that reel and submerge it in clean water and then see how it turns and everything. It might be okay to get it cleaned out. Can't never tell with the water. Will soften any motor and stuff sentiment or something in there and you can turn it and then just take it apart to a certain extent. Give you something to do but anyway
I really feel bad for you all and the way that your change of life was forced on you . maybe it would help if you would plan and work on your little part of the lake out front of your place . your dock , your beach , even the rip-rap shoreline and landscape plants . that way when it refills it will be ready for you and the kids and wife to jump rite into it .
I can imagine how frustrating it is, not knowing when the lake will be refilled, and after how long it will take to return to quality fishing. Anyhow, you may be sitting on a gold mine with some of those glass coke bottles, some could date back to the 50's, the Mt. Dew, and Crush would have been mid 80's to early 90's.
@@COLE_and_JAY I read online that some of the mid century bottles can be worth 10 - 30 dollars a bottle, depending on age and condition. I think 85 or 86 they went with squat bottles like what the Mt. Dew and Crush bottles you found with the Styrofoam wrap, and those got phased out in the early 90's when they went with plastic. Anyhow, with when the lake was built, it's definitely possible there could be some 50's or 60's bottles in there, and definitely 70's and 80's.
I've wondered and ask that several times..I'd say he moved his self to the next big body of water over. He may have went out and hit the river and now he's a resident of TX. 😆
What plans does the DNR have for the lake. I am POSITIVE they didnt drain it just to make you mad, there must be a good reason for this? If I were you, Id be out there making some catfish holes with a tractor, knowing that the water will come back. Just deepen the lake and make more habitat for the new incoming fish. Im betting the DNR will probably drop over 3 million fingerlings into the lake first year its back and stable again.
I dont understand people at all. They go through the effort of carrying food and drink full out onto the water and when they are finished with it, instead of setting up a trash bag in their boat and taking it back out and throw it away at the boat ramp it just amazes me how lazy people are.

If it stays drained, it will make great habitat for game. Maybe take up hunting. Plus you know the terrain of the drained lake already.

The green Coca Cola bottles sell well on eBay and Facebook marketplace. With Christmas coming could help with the toy budget!
