Best cover EVER!! And Sammy is still rocking’ in his 70’s. Mad respect
Sammy's the man!!!
Always has been
'Cept this was from the '80s
@@johnfarrar7448 He meant Hagar is in his 70s ... Sammy Hagar is 76 years old.
For the age of this clip and considering it's live, the quality of the sound and mix is freakin' amazing! I hope Sammy and Neal continue to rock us for many more years.
Not „considering“. Back then they knew how to play ❤
@@thomassunkel9229 I was only talking about the quality of the mix. Their ability and musicianship is without question. I really don't understand how you thought that I was insulting their chops. Of course these guys could play! They still outplay guys less than half their age today.
We didn't have one too many 'shrooms today, huh? Read what I wrote again. Sober, this time.
The album tracks are all from these shows . They never went into the studio .
FANTASTIC version of one of the greatest tunes ever written.
I remember this album when it was originally released, I was working in a record store and have loved it since the first time I heard it.
It was HUGE, here in the SF Bay Area - for obvious reasons lol ♫
@@1970borntorun That's where I lived & worked at the time & it was great!
Bought the cassette and have the CD now!
Man are we getting old🤣
I still own a copy on vinyl
I’m collecting all the versions of “A Whiter Shade of Pale.” Indeed this gives me chills as it is so pure and beautifully done. The lyrics are right on and the background sounds are magnificent. #1
I love Neal's tone whenever and with whomever he plays.
Same here...instantly recognizable tone!
The best cover of this song that I have heard.
Absolutely killer. Neil with the crushing melodic solos...
This is a great cover by a band that I wish had done more stuff together.
Glad to find it here!!!
This line up should have done a lot more. These shows were awesome. I was at the last night in San Francisco at the Warfield.
,,,,,u,
@@papawolf60 Lucky you
@@papawolf60 q
They did a shitload together.
Damn! This rocks. Where have I been for 14 years?
amazing.. just best of the best covers of this awesome song.. five stars for HSAS...
You instantly know it is Neal Schon on guitar...his tone is instantly recognizable. Great cover of a fantastic tune!
Thank God they did this tune. Reminds me of when rock was great and america even greater, more free. Great days.
This show needs to be put out on DVD...LOVED this performance
It is on DVD. I have it
Just amazing from the guitar to the vocals
Love how Sammy doesn't even flinch when that lady grabs him. Nowadays an artist would stop the whole show and give an hour long lecture about "personal space"...or do a walk off.
3:18 😅😅😅😢🎉
Well at this point in Sammys career he had been in Montrose, a solo artist and this side project when Journey had the singer quit. He had been a performer for almost 20 years... Lmao. I'm sure this scenario had happened many times..
Seems like I saw that someone jumped on stage at a Motley concert and Nikki stopped pretending to play bass and ran off freaked out. Lol
Nowadays you apparently go to the wrong shows.
Who even knew there was a LIVE version of this cover by this incredible concept band. Great stuff! I have the original Lp.
Schon still has that amazing FAT tone and awesome melodic sensibility..... Like no other. I LOVE this version of the song.
l still keep the vinyl.

Never saw them live.l saw journey neil. Was hitting on all cylinders that night.and those songs became the live album.the whole band was like a well oiled machine.perry was impeccable.neil became top ten guitar material.they lived up to all the hype.
Sammy nailed it !
loved hsas from day one.if anyone has missing you by hsas please let me know i have been searching with no luck thanks and by the way 5 stars for one of rock n roll's best cover.
Sammy's voice, Neil's guitar, Bach's music - What can be better!
Really man? I mean, we all know the this classic Procol Harum song was heavily Bach influenced, but you can't credit the band that wrote the song? LOL!
@@GeorgeTel100 LOL! that's pretty funny. First of all, this is not a direct rip of Bach. More inspired by. Secondly, you can't be called out for stealing when you have openly admitted all along what your inspirations were. Gary Booker has always been very clear about that.
"If you trace the chordal element, it does a bar or two of Bach's 'Air on a G String' before it veers off. That spark was all it took. I wasn't consciously combining rock with classical, it's just that Bach's music was in me."
Here is the Bach piece that is generally cited as the inspiration for the song. ruclips.net/video/GMkmQlfOJDk/видео.html
works
Shrieve and Aaronson
I saw Hagar (Montrose) at Sherwood Forest Michigan 1973, He is awesome and Neil one of the most underrated guitarists of all time
Saw them twice, Santa Clara and San Fran...so great! Still have the vinyl...
one of the best covers of all time
Have you ever heard Sammy cover Janis Joplin?
That is bloody awful anyone who thinks that is good is brain dead 😂
I was always hoping for some more work from this group. OUTSTANDING
Just seeing this now,...I picked up this LP album at a record show about 20 years ago,....for 5 bucks....got it home flipped it over, Sammy and the band signed their name by engraving the flip side and dated it 1984...my HS grad year....Don't think the guy I bought it from , knew what he had. Had to be a promo given to the radio stations here in Detroit. Scared to play it...don't wanna scratch it
That's a cool story.Ill give you 10 bucks lol.
Damn thats really cool! 🤘🏻
Wow. This was amazing. I clicked on this video by accident, and saw a hair band, and I was about to click back when I heard their sound...
Great rendition of the song!
Best rendition ever of the classic Procol Harum tune❤❤❤❤
This is amazing. Sammy, when he is on, is the man. Love the original but Sammy and Neil just took this and made it theirs. This is one of those classic moments you only get so many of in music (or anything, for that matter). A HSAS reunion would be fun. Maybe with Michael Anthony?
Kenneth Aaronson is a waaaaaay better Bassist than Michael Anthony
Curtis Heldenbrand WAAAAAY better!!
Man. One of my favorite albums from the 80's. Hagar sounds soooo bitchin'.
And looks great in skin tight red leather pants, damn!!!
Sammy has jammed with some of the greatest guitarists
Ronnie Montrose
Neal Schon
Eddie Van Halen
Joe Sayriani
One of the best covers ever!!
Love this version
Yes
Never forget the summer cruising in my old Z-28 with my buds cranking HSAS. Sammy and Neil... incredible.
IEATZ28.... TransAM
It's really an awesome cover!
He brought this song to me as a kid
How am I just now hearing this? This is some incredible stuff!
...another great performance of a rock classic. Procol Harum had no idea what a massive hit this would be.
"I Never, Ever Get Tired of Hearing This Song!!!". What a fantastic compilation, and understandable. I totally Enjoy this Entire Album. Thanks for this. HSAS Rocks!!
Many musicians believe that this is a Perfect song ever! I guess because it's originally by J.S Bach. I know it was made to this song by Procol Harum (Fisher/Brooker) in 1967
But Neal, Sammy, Kenny n Mike make it even better in here.
And I bet if Bach heard Neal's guitar today, he'd love it.
HSAS all the way...I loved this band the 1st time I heard them on Q102 Tx best rock...Dallas...good ole days
Thanks for posting!
Q102... TEXAS BEST ROCK! Loved hearing that at concerts in the 80's. Eff YEAH!
This
was a song I shared with my elder sister
when I was a little boy. Brings back so many memories....20 tahun kemudian aku dewasa lagu inipun mengisi
hari2 ku di saat perpisahan kuliah di STIEPAR AKTRIPA YAPAR Bandung .. kenangan
terindah bersama pacar dan teman. sediih n full memory kaset ini masih
tersimpan warisan
Sammy does this song justice!! and the band also...
I was at that show, great songs!
Lucky dude!
Frank Bloss can you give details: where and when was it?
Don’t lie
I was at one of the Warfield shows, truly awesome concert.
I was THERE. This was amazing!!!! ♥
A great song Sammy Hagar does a great cover Sammy Hagar voice is powerful n an touches your heart Neal Schon does a great guitar solo 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🏋🇺🇸👍
one of the most beautiful songs that i ever heard fantastic
This wound up being the only single from HSAS, which went to number 94 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week ending May 26, 1984.
Fantastic!
this version rocks
Something about Hagar and Schon together. Seems like the genius partnership that never started. Goddamn.
Eddie to the rescue
They truly nailed this song
I owned the LP when it came out, copied it on cassette and played it endlessly in my car. Later owned the CD, so lucky to have that stuff collected, Schon's solos all so cool!
Hopefully will find the videos on dvd too one day...
Great performance
amazing. . the best cover from the best band of that period
Ahh the Red Rocker!! and Journey/Santana! these guys are were and are still awesome! HSAS!
Dont leave out Billy Squire that is his bassist. For a hyper group they were one hell of a combination.
power ballad style awesome
Awesome!!
Souvenir de la fin ds années "60"..... Que de "slows" dansés sur ce morceau....et de "coeurs" envoûtés.....
I just bought this cd for five bucks. I loved this tune when it came out when I was in 6th grade. Listening to the whole album Schon wanted to flippin' rock out and he tempered that impulse to forge Journey into the polished, stylized hitmaking machine it was. I love Journey, don't get me wrong. But I think Schon had a Page or a Blackmore inside him and that if this album had broken big, we would never have heard Raised on Radio. He would have been competing with Whitesnake and Def Lep.
The best remake of the song, just awesome
Best version Hagar sets it on fire
I love the HSAS album...true classic! This was a great post to...THANKS!!! :)
Mind blowing cover🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉... Fantastic.....
I didn't know that there was a video of this show. I wore the album out.
Me too! Had it on vinyl.....
I Love This Version/Vocal
iT´S AMAZING . . . Neil Shon are some of the beast musicians around the worl ¡¡
So much talent
OMG SOOO AWESOME!!
The drum kits in the '80's ROCKED!
Sammy is the man!
what a great album too!!!
I remember this band. They rocked the shit out of everything.
LOVE THIS!
best song they have
Wow. Just wow!!
Would love to see this live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A GREAT cover. by a GREAT band. Schon's tone and playing is to me, not of this earth.
You know this is from the early '80's when you say Schon playing one of those Roland ' Strat ' Synth guitars! :-)
this is my favorite version
What a beautiful solo.............
I had this on cassette.
That guitar is awesome as is the song
I've been looking for years for this version of this song (wasn't finding it via "neil schon whiter shade of pale"). Stumbled on it while reading about sammy hagar on wiki. woo hoo!
RIP to the lead singer of Procol Harum Mr. Gary Brooker
Amo esta versión ❤ 20/09/23
Beautiful song
Love this song with Sammy!
This is the first cover l like most after the 1967 release
of Procol's original hit . H=Sammy Hagar , S=Mike Shrieve
Kenny Aaronson (ex-Rick Derringer), Neal Schon . lts a
really super group in deed . (Danny Lee)
Who are the twenty-one buffoons who gave this a thumbs-down?
eze417 probably Beiber fans...lol
Those are the KISS and Pearl Jam fans who have no Music taste lol
Millenials
Sammy and Neil ...The very best
My brother bought this album for me when it came out, great cover of a great song. Joe Cocker did an amazing cover as well ❤
Sammy hits my stage @ the Joint-Tulsa this Friday! Wish I still had this album to get signed! Then to have Neil sign when Journey gets here later this year!
Hagar you the man!!
The Best Version man!!

Heart beat..
Epic cover.
I was at the San Jose Civic for this show , I think there were 2 shows the other in SF
Valley of the Kings giza is a masterpiece.not only does lt stand the test of time.play it back to back against leds Kashmir.if the song was longer it would be just as great.
