When the weather is cold and you need something to cheer you up and warm you up, there's no better remedy than an a buffet. Early on the unexpected snowy morning, we trekked out to the Fairmont Waterfront to visit the Arc Restaurant and indulge in their breakfast buffet in t he heart of the Vancouver downtown waterfront.
Upon entering the Arc Restaurant, we were greeted with warm friendly servers with incredible energy and magnificent views of the ocean from their dining room. An amazing elegant and upbeat atmosphere.
The buffet had a decent modest offering of dishes -- all well prepared and of the highest quality; and given the price of approximately $35, it was certainly good value. Fresh pastries, smoke salmon, and the classic breakfast offerings were the dishes of the day; but I was hoping for a little more grandeur - and would gladly accept a higher price point.
But the whole dining experience was amazing, good food, great servers, and a million dollar view. One special treat was the amazing customer made egg dishes that you can request as part of the buffet. This was certainly one of the stand-out features of this dinning experience. I had the good fortune to indulge in a west coast seafood omelette smothered in a large quantity of Hollandaise sauce - and they were certainly generous with the sauce.

Hello Tim, I love watching your RUclips channel . I love watching when you go to different places and showing their good food heheh
😮 the smoked salmon everything fruit wiw can't wait
You are an appreciative fellow, and that's why anywhere you go is worthwhile. I like your style!
Thanks again Bonnie, we were celebrating my friend Albert's birthday. Oh, that was an early morning :-O
Happy Birthday, Dear Albert! Have a WONDERFILLED life! @@TimLeeLetsGo
I love Vancouver ! When we went here back in 2015, we rented an Airbnb from a similar building but it was near downtown Chinatown though..3 days wasn't enough so we have to come back and try some more foods
Thanks David! Love you channel too! I subscribed a while back. It's kinda fun putting together/editing videos.. I find it's good way to preserve and share experiences. Hope you can visit again. Are you from the Houston area? Never really explored the city (other than the airport) :-) Would love to visit.
Tim Lee That's awesome ..thanks Tim ! Totally agreed with you on that ..I love Vancouver ..I'm considering moving there or Montreal later on in life ..I have family in Montreal so yeah ..I am from Houston ..beside the food scene ..there's nothing much to do here like in Vancouver..so if you do plan to come ..2-3 days would be good ..I won't be able to travel for a while . I got another little one coming in a few months lol
Just binged all your Vancouver buffet videos! Keep up the great work Tim! :)
Thanks Kevin... I like your videos too... you might appreciate this...I initially started filming videos because I was at an Amazon/AWS conference in Vegas... I wanted to test their AI video service Rekognition and filmed a few buffets to see if it can recognize items and even detect people's emotions... it was pretty cool... and hence the start of the channel -- I still use it to detect scenes where people are happy and other scenes I want -- makes it easier to go through footage... Cheers.
Wow what a start to your channel! Glad you’ve recorded videos of the Vegas buffets! Watching them all makes me really want to go Vegas haha. Are you working in tech as well?
tuyet v ngon thank
Love your videos. Great job and always lovely to staff. Also great scenery.
Best wishes
Thanks Diane 🙂. Much appreciate you're kind comment. looking forward to try out new places, just being quite busy with work and stuff lately. Thank you again Diane :-)
Greetings from Cairo Egypt

I saw someone in a gym in Surrey that looks like you, I wanted to say hi 😂 and say I watch your videos
Hi Raphael, that was probably me...please feel free to say Hi and thank you so much for reaching out!
@@TimLeeLetsGo I knew it! 😄
Nice music
Yay
👍
You need cream cheese for the salmon 😋
I will be there in three weeks for 3 nights any suggestions? I hope all the snow and ice is gone. Any crabs and sushi buffet?????
Oh where do I begin... (where are you staying?)
Assuming you're downtown Vancouver, take advantage of one of the gourmet food tours in Vancouver using Groupon -- they're usually about a 3 hour tour.
If you're looking for seafood/crab and sushi, try Oceans999 at the Pan Pacific -- a bit on the pricey side at $60 but I just went there today -- very good snow crab, shrimp, mediocre-good assortment of sushi, halibut wellington, etc -- and great desserts.
All you can eat Japanese are quite common and they are pretty average -- certainly much lower than Oceans999 (www.shabusenyakiniku.com/).
There is another place called the RiverRock Casino Buffet a short distance from downtown (in Richmond) on our mass transit system (sky-train) -- you have to be selective on when you go. The Friday/Saturday dinner and Sunday Brunch are quite good, but not too good otherwise -- hence the differing reviews you might see. (www.riverrock.com/dining/buffet/). By the way, if you're in Richmond, there's a huge Asian community -- lots of great Chinese, Korean, Japanese eateries there... but might need a car to taxi to navigate (no Ubur or Lyft here)
Do you ski or snowboard? If so (and only if you do), it might be worth taking a really early morning trip 6am (by shuttle bus or rental car) up to Whistler -- you can ski/ride till the afternoon and check out Whistler village in the late afternoon --they also have a food tour as well -- It'll be a whole day, but if you like mountain sports, it is worth it.
Hope this helps :-) Are you here during the weekday or weekend?
Go to The Lookout Revolving Restaurant Sunday buffet brunch. on a sunny day the view is fantastic. Vancouver
Susan, I know you advice was for Noel, but I might just visit the revolving restaurant (TopOfVancouver) as well. It's kinda funny, I used to apprentice with refrigeration repair to earn money for tuition and I used to visit their basement prep kitchen a lot. Never had I gone up to the actual restaurant, but it might be time for a visit :-)
Thank you for your response, I did not know you replied. I will definitely try Oceans999. I will be travelling with my daughter and we are staying by Vancouver-Centre Broadway. Whistler might be a stretch but I would love to go, if not one day. We are only going to be there March 27 to the 30. We are not renting a car, going to use the bus system. Thank you and I look forward to watching your videos and advice.
By the way, we are going to Vegas too lol. Spring Break, we are staying at Red Rocks.
Hey Tim, have you been to the San Francisco bay area, any recommendations
Hello Richard, I've visited there a few times, but still don't know the place well enough to provide any knowledgeable recommendations. I did recall visiting a place call Sears Find Food for their happy hour and found it quite nice. Are you heading there shortly? Would love to hear about the good spots you've found :-)
@@TimLeeLetsGo I live in San Francisco and I been to Sears it was alright, but if you come across anything, let me know
Tim: You hold the fork in the left hand. High accolades!
The best way to eat butter is lightly coated in smoked salmon
Agreed Michael ;-)
"the only thing better than bacon is ill gotten bacon".
LoL ... I can't believe some of the things I say in the videos :-)
You're supposed to overload your plate. That's how a buffet works. I cry when I see a small plate . Definitely not getting your money's worth.
Ian Elgar I like your strategy 🙂
❤😂😂😂😂 food 😂😂😂❤❤❤😁🥳🥳🥳💪👍😘😘😘🤪 i can't wait to have a bubble bath 🚿❤😂😂😂
Tim, trust me on this. You do N-O-T have smoked salmon with butter spread on it. A definite no-no! Smoked salmon belongs on a bagel with a "schmear" of cream cheese. I'm surprised at you because you normally are quite knowledgable about food practices. Oy vey--I guess we all slip up once in awhile!
LOL Linda -- Yes, I certainly deserved that "Oy vey" :-) Thanks for the comment :-)
I forgot, the jews invented food.
Eat what ever makes you happy
Smoked salmon lots of onions n capers with a small dab of cream cheese and lemon n dill on the side. Omit the bagel. Its good eating alone or with any toast or bread. The mini bagels r perfect n soft for smoke salmon. Some of larger bagels r harder n texturally not as balanced with the smoked salmon. For the norwegians bring on the pickles. Be bold n try it all ways. Its delicious every bite.
I love cooking 🍳🔪 but its nice to balance be caref for treated to especially by my favorite only man hubby, u can wine me dine me and surprise me in a positive loving healthy way 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😘😘😘😘💃💃💃💃👍💪🥳😉💖👋😀😆😆😆🙏👏👏👏👏🤗😄 hi
