One thing this video did not point out was that while Dan played the "dumb one", Hoss, on Bonanza, in real life he was actually the only one of the cast who had an advanced degree. He had a Master's degree in Dramatic Arts. He even taught high school English and Drama.
The family had a private family funeral and requested the Bonanza costars to not attend. He respected their wishes. Lorne and Michael were not there either.
The same reason he couldn't keep his mouth shut on set, makes for why he did not attend a colleague's funeral - lack of character and decency, above all SELF SERVING AGENDA OF A NARCISSIST ! Pitiful.

I don't know why you and others don't like him, you don't even know him, plus just what did he do to you in the first place ? All he wanted to do is try to put some realism on the show even though he complained quite regularly but it was for a good cause, even Lorne Green complained and threatened to leave the show but Pernell Roberts was just a little more vocal . Plus they lied to him and the cast members in the beginning about what direction the show was headed but instead took it into another direction, that's when Lorne Green had decided to leave unless they got it straight, they did eventually come up with some good segments but some were downright ridiculous, plus who wants to go around having their Pa running their lives and telling them when to go to bed, absolutely disgusting especially when you are full grown up men? Oh please share me, SMH 🙄 but once Pernell left the show Producer David Dortort admitted that Pernell was right but too little, too late but as for that word gay regardless whether it was used or not not once did I ever see or heard anyone direct that word towards Pernell Roberts because they knew that he was totally all man that's just your negative mindset towards him.
