I thank the Lord God for my parents. My dad retired from the military and then the post office. We were middle class and my dad focused on God and providing for the family, my mother managed the finances, and we never went hungry and always paid the bills on time. My parents remained with each other until death. I always appreciated the steadfastness of my parents, but seeing videos like this, makes me appreciate my parents all the more. They are resting in peace now.

If you are an actor working hard, often away from home or even out of the country making a film - and especially in the days before the internet made it easier to pay attention to your own money - you have to trust someone with your financial life.

Did the Sammy Davis segment twice, the computer reader is annoying, words are mispronounced, the subtitles are mispelled, showed pictures of other people during segments; a pic of Bette Davis as Peg Entwhistle and Henry Fonda as Peter Lawford were especially annoying. This video gets a D at best.

Time to put that ENTIRE outfit onto the E.R.S. -- E., for External, return the federal government to a tariffs-first-based system of funding, abolish the personal income tax, adopt a consumption-based tax for all first-time purchases, and establish a "fair" tax system for businesses and industry.
The caveat, here, is that these changes cannot be made and measured one at a time. They must be adopted as a single program of restoration of sober financial responsible government action on the federal level.
If all these elements were to be placed in force simultaneously, I believe the federal government would reap so much in returns within the first three years of all these changes that our greatest concern would be how to most effectively spend it on all of the federal necessary expenditures without overspending since enough would remain after reasonable spending that significant debt pay-down in the 100s of billions could begin in the same first three years.
The only force that could really threaten the success of this proposal is the human penchant for graft, greed, and the need to be THE hero in the common bureaucrat and politician. Absent such worthless ticks of society, America could and would truly become the shining city on a hill with streets painted in gold, if not paved in gold, at least.
      ..... .

One thing you should have mentioned was that Lugosi was grossly underpaid for his acting. After the success of Dracula, the studio wanted him to play Frankenstein. Bela turned the role down after reading the script where his only lines were grunts, so the role went to Boris Karloff instead. The studio didn't like him turning down the roll and got even by under paying him from then on. I remember reading that in one movie where he starred with Karloff, he was paid $500.00 while Karloff got $5000.00 for his acting.

Why when talking about Black Actors or singers do you always show pictures of someone other than who the story is about? For example you are showing pictures of Halley Berry when you are talking about Dorothy Dandrige. Halley played Dorothy in her life story that does not make her Dorothy. After health and family, nothing is more important than making sure that your finances are properly managed, especially having them generate passive income so you’re making money while taking a nap or eating breakfast.

I only discovered Garfield when I became interested in film noir on YT. He was so handsome & an exceptional actor. The 1950s guilt by association blacklisting was cruel & ruined many lives & careers. Back then, media influencers like journalist Edward R. Murrow spoke out against anti-American government behavior instead of sanewashing it like they do nowadays. He'd be incredulous & incensed that an insurrectionist is the current president elect.

Garland had 35 films to her name. She also released eight studio albums. Her many artistic contributions and merits of achievement put Judy Garland’s net worth at $20 million at the end of her life. This really is in stark contrast to the financial struggles she faced as she fought to thrive.

The House UnAmerican Activities and what it did, specifically to celebrities who didn’t toe the line of the then-current political climate, is one of the many shameful moments in our government’s history. The committee dragged in celebrities who had at one time, usually decades earlier, been members of the American Communist Party, which was not against the law when they did. It was only after WWII, a war in which the U.S. and the USSR were not perceived as enemies. But, after that, when Russia started gaining ground in armament/munitions production, came the big Red Scare. And the vast majority of those who were interrogated had long since ceased any affiliation with the Communist party. But then the screws were tightened and the committee expected the interrogated to “name names,” which meant for them to tell what other well-known celebrity (i.e., “Hollywood type”) had been active way back when. It didn’t matter to the committee that the people were no longer active; they wanted Names. Those with deep personal integrity, such as John Garfield, refused to do so. And his career, like many others you and I may never have even heard of because of how they and their talents faded into obscurity.
It is unbelievable what was allowed to happen to so many people of great talent, many of whom worked hard for the U.S. during the war, either as members of the military, performing in pro-U.S. films, performing in USO shows to entertain the troops, or traveling around the country to sell war bonds.
Dear Reader, if you are unfamiliar with this period of U.S. history, I encourage you to do some research. There are many documentaries on the subject. And don’t think this sort of disgraceful governmental behavior cannot happen again. At 75, I doubt I’ll live long enough to see my prophesy come to fruition; but, you who are still young, be aware. 🇺🇸

Jeez, the more I read about the maladies of these various entertainers it makes me glad that I don’t have any singing or acting talent.
The one thing that I am good at, however, is managing my personal finances. I have an MBA and worked in Finance and Accounting for my career (now retired). By educating myself on investing and living below my means and investing the difference I have built up a multiple 7 figure net worth in my senior years.
Properly managing their personal finances seems to be an unknown talent for many entertainers. There are exceptions, like the actor Fred MacMurray who died a very wealthy man through living modestly and conservatively managing and investing his earnings from his successful acting career.

All of the Motown acts were a lead singer and a backup group. Diana Ross and the Supremes. Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Can anyone name a "Miracle"? I believe I've made my point.

The truth is shown, no matter who are or were, you can't take it with you. It's all left behind for the worms and vultures, (of various types).

I can't listen to an hour of AI artificial voice. It makes me wonder if the content is as fake as the narration. 👎⬇

They wouldn't be so broke if they wouldn't have lived so high on the hog just a normal life would have done okay. The money they make they shouldn't have bought all those expensive stuff that's why they lost their money.

Mickey Rooney was in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. He played the Asian neighbor that complained about holly Golightly’s loud parties.
