    See , now this is a proper review by someone who has actually thought about how to use this piece of equipment . I've watched a dozen other reviews of this grill , and no one thought to flip the grill top for the *height* difference . Smart , thank you .

    Nice one Lupe - I have just asked my wife for one of these for my 50th birthday (December). I am glad you answered a previous question regarding using wood, as that is what I am also hoping to do with it. These are fairly strong money in the UK, but I reckon it will be worth it :)

    If you put the draft door and fire door in the bottom of the grill for transporting it won't be off balance.

    • @guadalupe_rodriguez

      The caution was for the transport when coals are inside. Which I wouldn't recommend doing. Nonetheless, as is, the grill remains off-balance. A non-issue for me.

    Hi Lupe, thanks for taking the time to do this demo. You mentioned that the grill feels unbalanced when you lift it with the bail (handle). Is there any chance that if you inserted the bail hooks going the other direction, you might get it more balanced? Just asking, I really have no idea. I am planning to get this grill, so I'm also thinking about how to keep that access door closed -- something rigged with a couple of good magnets maybe?

    • @guadalupe_rodriguez
      @guadalupe_rodriguez  6 лет назад +1

      Yes I've tried it both ways. I believe, for safety reasons, this wasn't made to be lugged around from place to place with fire in the system. Its really not off balance too bad with empty ( no fire) inside. But, if you feel that you have to keep that lid from coming off, you can insert a small Piece of metal where the plate is inserted to keep it from opening. I just my grill almost every weekend and I truly love it. I highly recommend it. Thanks for your input and comments. You can try the magnets. Let me know how you like it if you get it.

      never heard of car shampoo. I know hair shampoo removes oils from your hair, or at least it does on me.

      Guadalupe Rodriguez car shampoo is designed to clean but prevent wax from falling of... this way it will protect the seasoning layer of the cast iron.

    and if you buy a cabella cast iron oval dutch oven you can use the lid ( or the oven body itself for larger items) as a lid for your grill as if it was made for it ... www.cabelas.ca/product/37393/cabelas-outfitter-series-cast-iron-oval-roastergriddle

      That's awesome. Thanks mate!. If you look at my Dutch oven video, I use the lid as a cooking pan. I love it. Thanks for that insight, I will have to purchase it to diversify my experience.
