@@JethammerTakeoff IMO 2008 Stormtroopers are the best. Nice and simple, the newer ones are kinda overkill with their massive helmets. The new Vader is awesome though
The beauty of the classic minifigs is that they were stylized. The super detailed printings and faces don't jive well with that classic aesthetic, nor the decision to put realistically round helmets over the squared off minifigure heads
The jump from the first ever (2000) to second (Jango’s 2002) is so significant. Makes me wonder if the first one was simply not designed with a lot of accuracy in mind or if the pieces and LEGO piece variety increased such a big amount that they were able to make it so much more screen accurate

I think the 2002 jango fett version was really good for its time, especially compared to many of the other sets released around the same time. In terms of quality specifically and excluding pricepoint, the UCS version kinda wins by default.
I had so much fun with Jango Fett's Slave 1 back in the days ❤️ I customized it a lot, adding a few more hidden weapons. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see it again.
I usually don't defend the really old sets but damn I just love that original 2000 Slave 1. its so nostalgic and also its compact and generally pleasing.
Suggestion: You could create brick-built displays to show the year for each set. You'd only need 5 or 6 of them and you could swap out the last two digits of the display for other videos: 2010, 2014, 2019, etc. You could also do a stream where you create the displays. Great comparison video, M&R!
I remember getting that very first Slave 1, Set 7144 for Christmas the year it came out. Not elegant or beautiful but I loved that damn thing. Played with it so much.
But have you ever tried holding a lego slave 1 in the flying position? My hands are huge and I really have to stretch and be careful with my fingers to hold it. The handle would make playing with it so much more carefree.
That score for 7153 (Jango's) is way too harsh imo. I find firing missiles severely overrated and that magnetic module is his prisoner compartment for his bounties. This deserves a 4 for playability and at least a 3 and arguably a 4 for design given the massive improvement over 7144 and that many innovative elements of this design were carried over into future versions. I get that the price per piece is high but this set has large pieces like the cockpit that they had to develop molds for. It also has some rare (discontinued?) colors and exclusive printed pieces. It's the only version with this color scheme. Value should be at least a 2 and arguably a 3.
