I like to think that the 2012 flick fire missile in the roof is just a nuke, for when Jabba runs out of patience or just for his birthday parties. Definetly would fit his character.
Boba fett place is honestly a unique set,imo its has a lot of good minifigures and details, but the jabba place never get old, that jabba minifig still holds a place in my heart to this day, that colors on it is so accurate ngl
That 2012 set is pretty much as close to perfect as a lego set can be. The minifigure selection is phenomenal, the playability is great, the display ability is unmatched by the other two sets and being able to connect to the Rancor pit set is such an amazing idea.
The 2012 set is a great display piece with the rancor pit but even without it the set looks pretty good still. The 2022 one is not good for display, too bad that lego had controversy over the 2012 set.

I hope we get another Jabba and Rancor soon, it's not like they don't at least still have the Rancor mold since they reprinted the hands in green for the Lego Batman Movie.
What if they made a rancor pit for bobas palace and they made it so that when it is in the folded configuration it sits on top of the pit and the pit comes with the a rancor with the option of a saddle and a new rancor trainer minifig

Not sure why Ryan doesn’t think an expansion is possible for 2022. Those connector pieces on the top of the main building are DEFINITELY for an additional set. The 2022 one is called Boba Fett’s THRONE ROOM after all…we can hope for a round roof and an expansion to the watch tower too…
Unpopular opinion, but I actually think the 2003 version was the best offering from Lego as a toy. Inflation accounted for, all three sets to it where about $55 combined. That's about a third the price of the 2012 version (not including Rancor pit) and about half the price of the 2022 version. The other two models definitely show progress and are better cost aside, but taking the msrp of each set into consideration, I don't think that progress necessarily reflects the same value Lego offered in 2003.
I agree. I think its because Jabbas palace will never be to the same accuracy as a ship can be be. Like it would have to be a UCS set to achieve that. When thats the case, I prefer value over how a set looks. If I bought boba fetts palace (i dont plan on it) I'd be buying it for minifigs. When I buy an Xwing or a tie fighter, I'm usually buying it for the build AND minifigs. Also, when I hated buying general grievous's overpriced fighter, at least I was getting the best version of that ship to date; it truly was a great build.
2012 had everything you could possibly ask for- including best accessories. Yes it had the rancor pit, but jabba’s sail barge also came out in 2013- going phenomenally well with them, making, in opinion, the best trio of sets in lsw history.
I really love the 2012 jabbas palace . And as a muslim i do think it look like a mosque but it honestly it doesnt offend me . Overall i think the 2012 jabbas palace is the best one
Assalamu alaikum. No disrespect to any religion, but the Hagia Sophia mosque people say looks like Jabbas Palace wasn't even built by Muslims, it was originally a Christian church built by Greeks, later it was a Latin Catholic church then converted to a mosque when the towers where added.
Honestly I think people have gone way too soft, we already got Slave 1 renamed to Bobas Starship (I think), & now we got a half assed Jabba's Palace for the new one 😂
Is it just me? I feel so partial to the classic yellow Star Wars mini-figs that I think they will always be my favorite ones. They are classic and nostalgic. IMO
I always like yellow over skinntone for human figures. It would actually look wierd to see charecters like Jaba' Jarjar or various non human charecters like the hobit Azog in yellow. It is the standard or lightest skinntone I don't like for manny figures because it is too lite compared to real human skinn. I like the medeum skinntone like the one used on Aladdin best. I got severral of the earley starwars figures like Luke and Quigon in yellow from before lego used the skintone.
Over the last year or so I have been watching all of M&Rs videos, on lego Star Wars reviews and news. However once sets are revealed/released, my favorite sets usually are Ryan’s least favorites. I love the Imperial Shuttle and Imperial Light Cruise and Boba Fetts palace is what I have been most excited for since it’s leak. It probably has something to do with me not buying or having any knowledge of Star Wars lego sets from 2010-2021, but it is cool to see a different perspective on Lego’s releases. Keep up the great videos M&R!!
The 2012 Jabbas Palace is probably one of the best Lego sets and it’s because of the minifigs and it’s very accurate to the actual Jabbas Palace and even tho it’s a set meant for children it can still make a great display piece.
in my opinion, a roof will be made for this new palace as an additional set, there are pins at the top and it is possible that the rancor cave is downstairs
That won't happen for a few reasons: 1. It's clear that they didn't make it because of the mosque controversy. 2. Adding a roof set that could fit minifigures would make the roof as tall as the tower, which would look ridiculous. 3. Why would an additional set added on to the roof attach with those types of pins? It would attach by studs. They were probably for decoration. 4. The roof of this set doesn't seem to be made to fit something on top. There's no tiles and studs like there usually are to connect floors. And there's grates to let light in,, which wouldn't be there if there was meant to be a roof on top.
Me and my friend loved jabba the hut when we were younger. And i loved boba fett aswell. We made our own little jabbas palace out of cardboard with a functional pit. It was so fun.
I think the value category is kind of irrelevant in these vs. videos because many older sets cost much more today that it doesn’t really matter how valuable they were when they came out.

The second one was only coming out when I was losing interest in Lego, but they all seem great to represent the space that they are. All 3 are great sets in their own right. 2012 obviously being the best of them, but the 2022 is very good and a nice display set… if you display it how it was intended as the throne room. There’s a lot of detail in the throne room that’s super accurate to the actual set like the rotisserie. The 2012 shines from the outside but the 2022’s interior is more lively

I’m really not worried about the mini figs on the 2022 version, but it would be so much better with a dome roof, taller watchtower and maybe another gamorrean
In 2012 I bought the rancor pit but missed out on the palace. Then the price went crazy after the controversy and I thought I would never get it. Fast forward to today and I picked up the 2012 palace on Facebook for a sweet deal as it was missing a couple mini figs. No problem. So happy and will be building the palace and rancor pit together for the first time this weekend. Cool video, cool channel.
I really like the boba fett one. I still wish you could remove the roof and I hope they will add extensions to the boba fett one like the rancor pit and dining hall
I think that if you want to put the 2022 Boba's throne room on top of the 2013 Rancor pit, you have to have it with the side pieces folded inwards for it to work properly
I find comparing the 2003 Jabba's Palace, the 2012 Jabba's palace, and Boba Fett's throne room is like comparing an 8-track tape, a DVD cassette, and a VHS tape.
I have the “Jabba’s surprise set” sealed in box. Bought it when it was only €47 still. Happy that I got it back than, and probably gonna keep it sealed.😁
The lack of display quality in 2003, to me, is more forgivable than in 2022. 'cause back then, LEGO sets simply weren't designed with displayability in mind. But in 2022, LEGO KNOWS people care about that. And they still didn't care. So while I also agree with the win for the 2012, I'm giving extra points to the 2003. 'cause it was pretty good for 2003 standards... Whereas the new one fails 2022 standards.
Agreed. It's something I thin everyone kind of recognizes in LEGO sets in general. You don't look back at 1999 Minifigures and say they were trash because that was just LEGO's standard at the time. But given modern standards the 2022 BOBF Boba Fett is garbo. I had been thinking about this recently, glad you brought it up.
We’ll it’s not legos fault dude do you want them to do the same thing as 2012 and then have it be controversial again to where they have to pull the set or something
@@flamebreaker7318 that "controversy" is greatly exaggerated. It wasn't that much of a controversy, rather just a handful of people complaining... And none of them from actually Muslim countries. Most people didn't even thought of that. Specially not anyone who has actually been to a mosque. 'cause nothing in Jabba' s Palace even remotely resembles one. LEGO just took the opportunity to use that as an excuse to cheap out on design ;)
I really hope that this 10 year pattern continues and in 2032 we get a redo of the 2012 set with updated part selection and maybe they’ll increase the size and make it a master builder series set. Hopefully the roof controversy will be a distant enough memory by then that they’ll be willing to make it accurate
Honestly, they could have made a little roof for Boba's palace, with like 30 pieces and 10 more euros... it would have made the set far better for only a few pieces. They really missed something there

I really like the boba fett one. I still wish you could remove the roof and I hope they will add extensions to the boba fett one like the rancor pit and dining hall
I actually do not hate the watch tower in the 2022 set... But I absolutely still hate that throne-room roof.
Wish I had the 2012 one now... That price is revolting, though
I got the 2003 one with the companion sets when I was a child, and I had a blast with it
I think that if you want to put the 2022 Boba's throne room on top of the 2013 Rancor pit, you have to have it with the side pieces folded inwards for it to work properly
I find comparing the 2003 Jabba's Palace, the 2012 Jabba's palace, and Boba Fett's throne room is like comparing an 8-track tape, a DVD cassette, and a VHS tape.
I can't believe how you got the old jabbas palace sealed and the other little set!
Would be cool if you merged all of them together to make one cool set
Besides Vader’s Redemption, Han’s Rescue if probably my favorite sequence of the films, so getting the 2012 set is a must.
I think if you combine every part and details and play features it will be the ultimate palace
You should combine the 2012's and 2022's to make a better version of Boba's Palace
Massive massive that was a ginormous upgrade
When you said with the ability to flip minifigs off I pictured the stairs actually flipping a minifig off
A man walks down to a barber shop:
Barber: Hi, what can I do for you?
Man: Not much, just take a little bit off the top.
Sometime Later…
Man: 12:18
You forgot to try and put jabba into the 2022 palace !
A rancor pit on the new boba's throne room would do nicely
I have the “Jabba’s surprise set” sealed in box. Bought it when it was only €47 still. Happy that I got it back than, and probably gonna keep it sealed.😁
I would like to see a big Jabbas palace like a ucs set, that would be cool to see all the detail they could put into it
I Miss The "swooshability" category
When I get the bobas palace, I’m gonna take the throne out, put it in my 2012 palace, make an extra tower with it, and use the rest in a mod espa moc
personally i believe the 2003 version has the best gatekeeper eye
I really hope that this 10 year pattern continues and in 2032 we get a redo of the 2012 set with updated part selection and maybe they’ll increase the size and make it a master builder series set. Hopefully the roof controversy will be a distant enough memory by then that they’ll be willing to make it accurate
I bought the 2012 Jabbas Palace a couple years ago for $180, it's my favorite set to this day!
Totally agree on the 1st three set is really one set or it's incomplete without the side sets, it was an interesting idea.
Dammit, they forgot the dome for Boba’s Palace.
It’s an intentional omission due the Lego groups fear of religious backlash..
Honestly, they could have made a little roof for Boba's palace, with like 30 pieces and 10 more euros... it would have made the set far better for only a few pieces. They really missed something there
Why is this video legit comes out the day after I was looking for a Jabba's palace comparison video 🤣
Imo all 3 sets are nice, however I love the second one the most
I bought the 2012 version when it released and only recently built it up again and it did not dissapoint👌🏼👌🏼
