Just got my hands on the Master Builder Cantina and I have to say it might be my all time favorite set that I own. It's huge, the instruction manual has detailed descriptions of every tiny bit. Such an amazing set.
I own the 2014 cantina, I was probably 8 years old when I got it, I still remember that christmas that I got it and was very excited. Obviously the new one is a huge upgrade but still love the 2014 one.
I see the 2018 one as an add on to the 2014 one with the extra storm trooper, updated han solo, bar tender, new vechile and the ability to add another half to the bar area.
I love Building sets for legos, I like things like the cantinas, houses, etc. I totally understand why we don't get these kinds of sets often because let's be real here, people want the Advanced Tie Fighter, not the Padme's family house where she takes Anakin and they have dinner. But I just love having these kinds of things to have my minifigs kinda hang out in, so the Master Builder Cantina was a DREAM COME TRUE for me
I'm with you on that one. Having a huge vehicle is nice, but sets where you get that really populated Star Wars feel are great. The side buildings on the 2020 set were such an amazing surprise with how alive they felt. I loved all the little details all over them to make them feel lived in.
@@Mothbean I'm currently praying we get an Endor Bunker for 2023! I have all these imperials and they need a place to chill out and work. I want believe the 4+ AT-ST and then 40th anniversary for Return of the Jedi are all building up to lego revealing the Endor Bunker.
Didn't you see Star Wars? How could you not know that control panel at the door is a droid detector? Even in the LEGO Star Wars movies they show that it's a droid detector. They're called moisture vaporators, like evaporate, not vaporators, like vapor.
Mando went to the Mos Eisley Cantina in _The Mandalorian,_ found a droid tending bar (voiced by Hamill?) and met Toro Calican. Not a very lively place, but maybe one could do something for that scene if you've got EV-9D9 from Jabba's Palace (2003).
I was going through some of my old bins of Legos and founded the 2004 one and it brought back memories so I purchased a sealed version. ( I got the special black valediction box.)
I feel like every year they should make a random building from tattooine and you can connect all of them to. Make a huge tattooine city kinda like what they do with christmas houses
I love the new cantina and I can’t wait to get it, but honestly, with all the ones before the new one, I think the 2018 one is my favorite. I just have good memories with this one. I remember that it was just about to retire and I picked up the last one at target. I love the play feature of being able to knock Han and Greedo out of the chairs, I love the balance of the simplistic style/size, yet modern and detailed aspect of it. I just love it and I can’t wait to pick up the new one.
As for the Han Solo figures, I like the first two "hairstyles" because the Indiana Jones characters had the same type of block on their head. Only for me, the lego company winked at Harrison Ford. By the way, great films !

I got the 2020 version for Father's Day and I love it. One note, the reason the disks were originally clear on the Ubrikkian 9,000 pod is because they are windows. In the movie they look black because there is no light in the pod. So maybe both are accurate? Also the doors moving to the side is more accurate, but they explain in the manual for the 2020 set that they made them vertical for space reasons.
I often think of having a cantina that is more larger (similar to the 2020 set, which I finally now own and built) that can have more background figures. Because the 2020 set is big enough albeit with three booths, per each side, I made attempts to use other non-star wars figures to fill in those gaps, such as the LEGO Minifigures Werewolf and Alien, a classic black space man and an Atlantis Manta Warrior, with more figures to come.
Damn, this is making me really wish I bought the UCS yesterday. Pulled it up a few times and it was in stock, figured it would be available a bit longer for VIPs. Oh well lol
The lastest Mos Eisley cantina, can really do a lots of good MOC of it! like the mando fight, some scene from Force awaken etc now it makes me want the new cantina.
Ryan you should’ve combined the 2014 and 2018 version together to make a bigger Cantina, the bar in both is basically half of it, I saw someone combine both to make it bigger, just a thought.

Lego has always done a pretty decent job at making Mos Eisley in the past so im glad we finally got the full version

I just wish that they included a booth big enough for Han, Chewbacca, Luke and Obi-Wan other than the one hidden in the corner.

I have the 2014 and 2020 (about halfway through the build right now) and they're both awesome.
I think the back room is supposed to be where R2 and C-3PO hide when the stormtroopers are going around knocking on the doors to try to find them.
