It also sets the standard of what should be minimally expected. Of course, just the opposite can happens and it’s a recipe for disaster when this is the case. There’s nothing worse than terrible looking equipment that’s not maintained, or a messy jobsite. You’re just asking for an accident to happen in these kinds of situations.
The cleaning alone is a vast improvement. A car painter I used to know called doing a paint job like that "Putting lipstick on a pig" It does make it look a 100% better. It now looks like a excavator that's cared for. Awesome job Matt. Have a whine at the paint supplier (Nicely) and see if he'll give you more paint or a sizable discount as it wasn't a close match.
A great difference . While you are cleaning pull the covers of the back of the track drive motors and clean out around the hoses and up though the track frames where the drive hoses run. The dirt and mud builds up and eats through the hoses and fittings. My job for the last 30 years has been replacing hydraulic hoses and and I have replaced a lot of hoses in those spots due to dirt build up.
Here’s a tip for the paint cans! Most of the time you can clean tips by putting them in a bottle with acetone and shaking them for about 1-3minutes after that they should be cleaned out. Another tip, if you have a air compressor you can put a blower attachment up to the straw that sticks out of the can and re-pressurize the can! This will get you that last bit out of a can.
For no clog spray paint, when you're done spraying from a virgin can, turn the can upside down and spray out the paint remaining for about 2 - 3 seconds. This clears out residual paint so you can easily reuse a partially empty spray bomb.
Hi Matt. About Your Problem with Paint Spray cans. After you have done that Paint Job and there is still a lot of Paint in the can. To clear the nozzle, just turn the can upside down, Press the nozzle until there is just Propellant coming out, that has cleaned the nozzle just put on the cap ant put the can on the shelf. (you can also put a piece of cling wrap over the nozzle and the put the big cap on) Hope this will solve your problem and save you a few Bucks. Cheers from Hans in South Perth Western Australia
For removing the decals, take a trip to Harbor Freight and pick up an eraser wheel (or 2). They work well for decals, pinstripes and adhesive residue. The trick I used to install large decals was the same as doing window tint. Spray the area with soapy water and then squeegee it out with a rubber or plastic bondo spreader as you peel the backing off .
Grease and oil are wonderful anticorrosives. Dust and grime help keep the coating from dripping away. Ugly, but there's some truth to it. That being said, I definitely prefer "properly cleaned, lubed and maintained" over "filthy but effective", without exception.
Great job Matt. It really looks much better than when you started. If you want 2 cent worth on the counter weight, don't sweat it so much. Remember the paint on the rest of the machine is oxidized on the top layer of the factory paint. In all actuality it's nearly impossible to get repair areas to match exactly when first painted. It will match more closely in six months after it has oxidized a bit as well. Save some dough. Leave it alone. It looks very good on the video. If it's not broke don't fix it. Once again Matt, great job on restoring the appearance of this excavator.
Great job Matt! the only thing i would do different is the rear view camera! I think you should install it on top/rear of the cab for a wider view . It looks like you can not see the corners of the machine.
From the looks of the monitor, it'll support a few more cameras, so adding one to the top rear of the cab and one on the end of the boom might be good additions.
Matt, next time you have to install decals spray the surface where you're going to mount them with Windex and have a new plastic bondo speader handy. Install the decal and use the spreade to push out air bubbles. Make sure to use the spreader gently as flat as possible. It'll give you about 3 to 5 minutes to get it perfectly aligned before it drys. I've instructed hundreds of decales on mostly on Arcade and pinball games but also on cars, trucks and other items that way and never had a problem.
Purple Power Does an amazing job cleaning Cloth interiors as well as Getting Oil and grease off Fabric and even Metal Might help down the road Matt i use it for Fabric upholstery 29:27 @Diesel Creek
A grinder will imbed rust spots too if hot sparks hit the glass. Made this mistake on my old Ford pickup when I was 15 and working on the floor pans to get her ready for the road.
Hey Matt, I share your frustration with the rattle cans. I found soaking the tip in acetone and then blowing compressed air thru the tip helps. The machine looks great!
Here’s the end of your frustration: when done painting, spray the can for 2-3 seconds upside down until little or no paint comes out but only the pressurizing gas. This way you can put them away for a long time and reuse without any problem!
Hello Matt, love your channel. 47:47 What about painting the counter weight black with a yellow strip in the recessed area where the decal goes? The yellow gloss paint highlights the damaged areas whereas a flat or matte black paint would lessen the appearance of the damage. 20:15 Maybe repaint the engine top cover with a same black paint so it matches.
black is horrible for hiding defects, it shows every dent ,scratch. thats why most paint guys loath painting cars, trucks black - the prep work has to be perfect so the black doesnt show the smallest defect
I think you just increased the value of that excavator by thousands, just by washing it. Diggers do get dented during use, so people expect it to have some marks. Paint over the divets just reads 'This machine has been used hard, but well cared for afterwards'. You can get some 'decal eraser discs' which are basically some sort of yellowish rubber. They just eat the decals and leave the paint underneath undamaged. You may want to look into those.
A little tip on the rear camera placement is to place it on a metal plate that extends just enough that you can tilt the camera downwards and see a little bit of the bottom of the counterweight on the screen. Makes a world of difference in terms of perspective of how close you are to things behind you in tight spaces.
Also disabling the mirror video function so it appears as if you are looking out the back window. The dog moves across the screen backwards if you think about it. Gave me some motion sickness which I do not get haha
Half the battle on electronic add ons is routing the Wire and making it look professional Matt Looks good every time I run wire for lights or cameras always makes me feel better it was professionally Ran and Routing behind panels and looks clean 33:00 @Diesel Creek
To clean the valve...when you are through with spraying, hold the can upside down, press the sprayer button and clear the paint from the valve--usually 10-15 seconds. It's ready to use the next time. My grandfather taught me this one!
Pressure washing just added $5,000 to the resale value of that excavator... Also for the grease issue, use a detergent like dawn soap to keep it somewhat controlled. A trick for cleaning up the sticker residue is using a rubber wheel. It takes the residue off and leaves the paint.
Also when removing old decals.. whenever possible, put your heat on the back side of the panel. This heats the surface and glue first and helps a little with burnt fingers and decal breakage.
I respectfully disagree (in the instances when you can get to the back as previously stated) the goal it to heat the glue before the vinyl. When you can do that, the vinyl is stronger to pull on with less breakage.
for those paint cans that stop spraying. Take nozzle off, take a tire stem without the schraeder core installed press it on top of the spray can, apply air hose about 30lbs pressure should blow any chunks back into can. you should also have more air to spray with. when you get chunks most of the time you didn't shake it enough.
Matt love your videos! Regarding the paints… I highly recommend you use “rust oleum professional“ Primer and Paint. When you’re done using it hold the can upside down and spray until no more paint comes out. That will be the end of your clogged tip issues. Took me a while to get into the habit of doing it myself! Great video have a great weekend
If you got a Credit card Or a Peice of runner you can put a pointed wedge on will Help a Ton Smoothing Decals As your putting them on to stop the bubbles also works with stickers and even Phone Or tablet screen Protectors and many other things Matt 44:23 @Diesel Creek
What can be better on a saturday afternoon than watching a bit of Diesel Creek. My favourite Channel. Thanks for the content Matt , never tire of watching !!
Tip for installing decals: Peel the backer off, mist the decal with windex, place and position decal, squeegee decal. The windex allows you to move the decal after placement and remove all of the bubbles.
Windex is too strong. It leaves so much residue under it that water can leech under the decal and lift it over time. 2-3 drops of dish soap in a pint of water is all you need.
@@milesparris4045 Dilute the Windex with water 1 Windex to 2 water. However just plain dish detergent (get whatever's cheapest) and water works just as well.
For the plugged up spray paint cans Matt, what I found works great is flipping them upside down, and running them in the ultrasonic cleaner, I use simple green, but you could get more aggressive with some paint thinner in a glass jar in your water bath. You could just run the tips, but I find the tube inside also gets plugged so it clears the whole thing out. It also works really well for recombining old paint that has separated out, it will combine for a short time to allow you to use it, probably not as good as it was, but it beats trying to run out for more paint!
One of best vids yet, sadly I am a neat freak, really enjoy cleaning a machine once you have done all the hard mechanical work. 👍 PS if you foamed it down first with a detergent/degreaser, you would get more off, with less time and water
@@florichi Folks don't know that water treatment plants use grades of gravel and sand to filter the waste water. Diesel Creek is sitting on a huge gravel pile. Remember he hauled tons of it for fill for the new shop site.
@@DieselCreek Check out Mike from Outdoors with the Morgans, he bought a foam canon thing that works well, the episode with his new/old 250 highboy shows it well.
Finding a 220f rated turbo nozzle will cost you more than a box store pressure washer. The rebuild kit for my kranzel nozzle was 100 bucks. And that was a small one.
When installing new decals on anything spray Windex on the surface you are installing the decals on so the surface is wet. This will allow you to slide the decal any direction you need to then take a squeegee and remove any air bubbles that form. this will give you all the time needed to install the decals. It makes the job much easier. Good luck.
Matt! When painting and cleaning you always start at the top mate 😎I always start with a pressure wash using kerosene on the greasy areas and a soap mixture over everything else after that. Ever tried using one of those twirling nozzles like Camarata uses? Also hot water/steam makes it easier too. Love your content mate ✅FYI the yellow looks ok to me.. same colour.
If I'm not mistaken I think he's used one of those twirly nozzles in a few older videos, must have lost it lol. Good tip on using Kerosene to clean the greasy areas too 👌
Hi Matt, Myself when installing decals such as you have I use spray glass cleaner and heavily spray the area that the decal is going to be. This allows you time to adjust the decal and then squeegee from the center out and let dry. This is just how I do it not sure if it is the right way but I have installed many graphics with this process with great success.
Matt, I’m very impressed that your taking great pride in not only the mechanical aspects of your awesome equipment you’ve managed to assemble but also the cosmetics as well, when anyone shows up at a job site with a beat poorly taken care of piece of equipment it’s a reflection on how they “may “ actually be able to perform the actual work to be done.
Matt, you did a beautiful job cleaning her up. I don’t understand how someone can let their equipment get in the condition she was when you got her. With the lights smashed, every panel bent and the counterweight all scratched to hell, I’m surprised all the glass wasn’t broken, too!
It’s difficult to speculate why expensive machines are neglected without knowing their history. It’s possible this excavator was owned by someone who fell into ill health and was not capable of cleaning the vehicle before it fell into disuse. A few years ago I was in the market for a second hand tractor and almost every one had a bit of sad story behind them where an older person owned and operated it but was now no longer able to or was dead.
Great job Matt, creates a good impression with customers when you turn up to a job site with tidy equipment. Not seen Meatball on your videos for a while, hope he is Ok as he always made me laugh with his antics. All the best from Yorkshire UK.
This was more entertaining than the car detailing videos I watch! The machine looks amazing! I honestly think the counter weight is fine. Painting it any darker is going to highlight the fact the rest of the yellow is faded.
Also FYI for when applying decals, they have special solutions you can buy or you can just do what window tinters do and mix up some warm water and dish soap, wet the surface and the back of the decal, position decal, squeegee out from the middle to remove air bubbles and allow to dry, i've used this technique for installing large decals on windshields and other glass surfaces, but the principal is the same.
Professional window tinters actually use baby shampoo because it doesn’t break down the adhesive overtime and cause bubbles like you see a lot on back windows…ask me how i know lol

Work on the excavator was really worth while. A definite improvement. I notice you building isn't moving too fast although it looks like new material in the background. The plus of the delay is that your filled area has had a lot of time to settle before you put concrete and weight on top. Thanks for sharing.
Matt, While putting decals on truck doors I was shown that using water and dish wash soap use enough to give lots of suds. Start at the top and work down with a plastic squeegee to push the air bubbles out as you go. That allows you to lift the decal to get the air bubbles out.
This Kobelco machine is quite good looking even though it isn't the yellow you want . The cleanup went apparently very well, as it looks way, way better than it previously did!!! Awesome job, Matt!! Time well spent, none of it wasted at all!!

On the question of gummed spray cans. Try this, after you’re done spraying take off the nozzle and put it on a brake clean or carb cleaner can. One or two shots should clean it out.
Hey Matt, I can’t believe that nobody has mentioned a foam cannon. Mike Morgan got one for cleaning his equipment and loves it. Just a suggestion! Thanks for sharing your awesome videos.
He also needs a rotary nozzle on the pressure washer - those regular fan tip nozzles are hella slow. Used to take me hours to pressure wash my driveway with a fan tip - with a rotary nozzle it's maybe 30 or 45 minutes.
Cleaning the tip is really easy with a sewing needle. Start with the very smallest you can find. Part of the reason the tip keeps clogging is it isn't mixed completely. You need to shake for almost 10 minutes if it has sat for a good amount of time. Next day one minute is fine but after a couple months, well, more is better.
There's a visceral satisfaction watching something like this cleaned of years worth of dirt. I really would like to have seen the clumps of grease cleaned off but the camera lens would probably have to be cleaned repeatedly due to the backwash splatter. Always enjoy your videos.

Usually says that on the can, too 😀. Sometimes I rinse the nozzle with break clean right after use. Also keep the nozzles of used up cans as spares…
I would also say that solution.
This has always worked for me.
Yup I do this also.
That works until you have one of those 360 spraying cans.
Man that was a great result. The machine looks a hundred times better. Love the pride you take in your equipment.
Matt, for future reference, soapy water will allow you to move the decals around when you install, and a rubber squeegee will push out the wrinkles.
An old credit card works as well.
i always prefered a hand steamer. makes life a lot easier.
Great suggestion! You stole it right out from under me.
I love these transformations. often surprising how good it is under grease, oil and dirt. great job
Good to see you clean up this machine. Cleanliness is next to Godliness...and a clean and well maintained machine always runs better...
Always like how Matt makes use of his truck; workbench, staging, etc. Nice work.
Absolutely or soap and water works good too
Purple Power Does an amazing job cleaning Cloth interiors as well as Getting Oil and grease off Fabric and even Metal Might help down the road Matt i use it for Fabric upholstery 29:27 @Diesel Creek
Matt quick tip, anytime you are welding near glass cover it so spatter doesn’t leave rust spots. Love your videos!keep ‘em coming!
Plus if a splatter hits tempered glass...... well that's how you make your own "hillbilly" diamonds.
Agreed. I’ve always said a little flat black paint covers up a world of sins
Yes, when Matt started spraying the black primer I thought it should all be that colour...
I agree. Thought the black made it look so much better. It would also make a big red Diesel Creek logo pop.
That is a great idea. For the yellow part, you could bring a side panel to the paint shop. so they can mix the right colour.
Mat you have made great progress on your equipment and I like the way you explain everything George from Ohio
Great job, Matt !!! The BLACK looked great to me on the counterweight. Easily cover up scratch's also with BLACK.
black is horrible for hiding defects, it shows every dent ,scratch. thats why most paint guys loath painting cars, trucks black - the prep work has to be perfect so the black doesnt show the smallest defect
You may want to look into those.
ahh ive seen those! Ill have to try em.
@@DieselCreek 3m makes them
A little tip on the rear camera placement is to place it on a metal plate that extends just enough that you can tilt the camera downwards and see a little bit of the bottom of the counterweight on the screen. Makes a world of difference in terms of perspective of how close you are to things behind you in tight spaces.
I was thinking that a lower aim would be better too.
That also works fine for me every time!Good tip!
A decal eraser is even better.
a wallpaper steamer is even better
To each their own, but I prefer to take the adhesive with the vinyl instead of having a sticky mess everywhere.
I respectfully disagree (in the instances when you can get to the back as previously stated) the goal it to heat the glue before the vinyl. When you can do that, the vinyl is stronger to pull on with less breakage.
When mounting decals, put some soapwater under it (makes it easy to adjust) n then scrape it to place with a rubber-scraper.
for those paint cans that stop spraying. Take nozzle off, take a tire stem without the schraeder core installed press it on top of the spray can, apply air hose about 30lbs pressure should blow any chunks back into can. you should also have more air to spray with. when you get chunks most of the time you didn't shake it enough.
Thank you
Pretty amazing cleanup! I have never seen growth like that on a machine that was in running condition. Good job.
Hey we got the same last name lol
Who knew watching an excavator get a cosmetic refresh could be so entertaining! That Kobelco looks good as new; great video as always, Matt!
Soak clogged paint can defuser tips in break cleaner , also spray the break cleaner in the can orifice then blow it with air hose
well, "good as new" is a stretch. i'd say it shed many thousand hours
Loving how the camera ended up yellow
You have to be proud of everything u do Matt .it looks a HELL of alot better. Great job.
Tip for installing decals:
Peel the backer off, mist the decal with windex, place and position decal, squeegee decal.
👍 PS if you foamed it down first with a detergent/degreaser, you would get more off, with less time and water
i used lots of degreaser plus the water gets up to 220 degrees
Doing it on a non sealed driveway was already bad enough for the ground water. Doing it with a lot more chemicals would have been worse for it.
@@florichi Folks don't know that water treatment plants use grades of gravel and sand to filter the waste water. Diesel Creek is sitting on a huge gravel pile. Remember he hauled tons of it for fill for the new shop site.
The other thing I always notice is that cleaning, like painting, should ALWAYS be done from the top down, not the other way around.
@@DieselCreek Check out Mike from Outdoors with the Morgans, he bought a foam canon thing that works well, the episode with his new/old 250 highboy shows it well.
You should have one of those turbo nozzles for your pressure washer it makes them much more effective!
Finding a 220f rated turbo nozzle will cost you more than a box store pressure washer.
The rebuild kit for my kranzel nozzle was 100 bucks.
And that was a small one.
16k and has a radio and Ac Man that is a Still cosmetic Not bad at all mechanic sound machine for that price That is a steal Matt 2:18 @Diesel Creek
Yes, those turbo nozzles work great...clean faster...might have cut down the clean up time.
If I'm not mistaken I think he's used one of those twirly nozzles in a few older videos, must have lost it lol. Good tip on using Kerosene to clean the greasy areas too 👌
Using Kerosene, you do know how the channel got to its name, eh? :D I'm sure Matt would prefer to not ask the EPA for an even larger bill. haha
@@2xKTfc lol good point
Hi Matt, Myself when installing decals such as you have I use spray glass cleaner and heavily spray the area that the decal is going to be. This allows you time to adjust the decal and then squeegee from the center out and let dry. This is just how I do it not sure if it is the right way but I have installed many graphics with this process with great success.
That's how pros do it. Old credit cards, flat sides from milk jugs and liquid laundry detergent make great squeegees.
you can use just soapy water
These were stickers with a glue backing. Not decals
These look like glue backed decals..not the normal style you can adjust with soapy water
@@tonyhussey3610 it'll still work. The water keeps the floor from sticking, and when it evaporates, the decal sticks.
Could be a corporate purchase machine. They got their money from whatever job it was bid for and the heck with the equipment. never know
Great job Matt, creates a good impression with customers when you turn up to a job site with tidy equipment.
👍
Professional window tinters actually use baby shampoo because it doesn’t break down the adhesive overtime and cause bubbles like you see a lot on back windows…ask me how i know lol
To prevent the tip clogging, turn the paint can upside down and spray till it runs dry, then store it. Works every time
Hey Matt. Awesome videos! If your looking to repaint any of your equipment -shoot me a DM and I’ll help you with the process! We paint industrial equipment and facilities. Keep it up man!
Work on the excavator was really worth while. A definite improvement. I notice you building isn't moving too fast although it looks like new material in the background. The plus of the delay is that your filled area has had a lot of time to settle before you put concrete and weight on top. Thanks for sharing.
!
Matt, While putting decals on truck doors I was shown that using water and dish wash soap use enough to give lots of suds. Start at the top and work down with a plastic squeegee to push the air bubbles out as you go. That allows you to lift the decal to get the air bubbles out.
yes that is how they watch grave yard cars thats how they do it also
HEY! Hell yeah! Its gonna be an Asweome Saturday with Diesel Creek to get us going! Thumbs UP Matt , man 470,000 subs! WOOHOOO !!

This Kobelco machine is quite good looking even though it isn't the yellow you want . The cleanup went apparently very well, as it looks way, way better than it previously did!!! Awesome job, Matt!! Time well spent, none of it wasted at all!!
Been a truck driver most of my career !
But when I seen you cleaning the tracks it reminded me of when I was just a little tyke, back in the early 60s !
My grand father was ""teaching"" me to clean the tracks at the end of the day ! He taught me a lot when he was sitting on his ass !
🤔 🙄 🤣
Clean out spray paint valves on cans with brake cleaner, just switch over valves & spray!!
Job done
Good job Matt, she looks beaut. I always reckon that the customer forms an opinion about what sort of job they are going to get by the appearance of the machinery so pays to keep your gear tidy I reckon. Well done as always and love the length of your videos
Absolutely massive change in just pressure washing it absolutely great job Matt
Thanks 👍
As in all your videos Matt, thanks for being forthcoming about the prices that you pay for the stuff you feature, be it an excavator or a hand-held tool of some description. Its the real world and it gives the viewer some idea of the Pay-To-Play expenses involved in the world that you're wrapped around in!
Always, when using a spraycan for painting turn it upside down and spray until only drive gas comes out when youre finished. Then you know its ready next time youre going to use it.Clogged sprayheads have to be put in a cup with thinner for a while.
Looks heaps cleaner now Matt. I’m guessing that your “dream shop” is getting closer to being done with more bits of it scattered around the pad
Awesome job - that has to be SO satisfying! Only one thing missing - your Diesel Creek logo!
Looks really great Matt. You just added a lot of value to your machine. Always enjoy watching your videos. Thanks again
What a Difference 2 days worth of pressure washing and 2k gallons of water but Wow she looks Amazing 19:54 @Diesel Creek
Good going, Matt! Your efforts really paid off & it's looking great. Also really enjoyed seeing Roscoe hanging with you; it had me missing my old dog from years ago, but I'll still be glad to see him in future videos!

Dang dude! Looks sharp! I always appreciate folks who take care of their equipment👍🏻🤟🏻🇺🇸💥
I was in television repair for over 30 years we found the cleaner and more organized that we were the better the customer response. It stands to reason that the better you look to the customer the more faith they have in your work, we even toke this to our employees we had a dress code, not uniforms, but a clean business-looking dress which made a big difference.
I love the videos of these guy, you learn lots of things, he speaks correctly and clear and watching his videos is a good way to pass the time watching good content. Matt you're just incredible!
Looks great! Looks like a matte paint base would fit a little better too for the yellow.
When you're painting yellow light put desert tan underneath it it's the base coat for it
It does look great
Maybe acetone or lacquer thinner probably would have work cleaning and clean
This channel is addicting. I've been an equipment junkie (Thanks, Dad!) since I was track-high to a Bobcat. Hey there Matt watch and enjoy the videos, why not put a nice big Diesel Creak logo (Vinyl Graphics) on the counter weight, [Free Advertising] well other than the cost of the vinyl which you can buy for here in Canada $130-140.00 for 24" by 100' long, I'm sure your wife has the skills to print out letters or designs on a lasor printer then trace them onto the vinyl and cut by hand with a sharp rasor knife saves a ton of money just a suggestion brother and when you do any Graphics just tape straight down the middle, leaving a bit of tape past the Graphics, say an 1", for every 4"s up to about what you figure will hold her down, then flip 1 half over without creasing it, spray soapy water where you will lay that Half down using a squeegee from Doing body filler little plastic ones and smooth away if you have to adjust the soapy water let's you pull it back up easily. Once that side is satisfactory peel the other half backing off and repeat, this side is easier because it has half of it holding it in place not just a bit of tape. Best of Luck, with future endeavors wit Peace and Luv Andrew from Barrie Ontario Canada L4M2Z8
You're an inspiration, Matt! Keep it coming. Lots more old machines to save!
What a transformation! Great job! Can't believe how satisfying I found you cleaning this machine up.😊
Matt, pressure washing it alone made a dramatic appearance improvement! Great you could find matching decals to the originals. She's definitely a looker 😁
I dont know why but watching something being pressure washed is always so satisfying Matt 😂 7:10 @Diesel Creek
LOL! I love your water hauling set up! Hell yes the Ventrack pulls that tank with out a complaint!
I'm guessing that was a 200 gallon tank so that would've been 1,660 pounds of just water weight. Not bad for a hydrostatic machine.
listen I had to wipe the mold off your machine before I could put my sticker on the door. Feel Honored I started cleaning it first!
🤷🏼♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
and they say nature doesn't like greasy oily environments ..... you proof them wrong!
Round here the bees will actively seak out the oldest dirtiest machine they can
We've tried to set up proper hives with proper vee keeping wax paper abd all that
But no they'll build hives on the oil leak on the timing cover of our cummins powered new holland they even built a hive in the tracks of my hitachi zx350 digger
I took them for a drive and of course completely crushed their hive but the angry swarm followed me for 4km across the farm and rebuilt the hive in exactly the same spot over the next 2 days
@@fowletm1992 Comforting to know.
There's algae and bacteria that grows and lives in diesel fuel tanks. We've had issues with it in our semi trucks the past few years. The Biocide poison that ee have to use is extremely toxic, like fatal to humans and animals, so that gives you an idea of how robust nature is.
On the question of gummed spray cans. Try this, after you’re done spraying take off the nozzle and put it on a brake clean or carb cleaner can. One or two shots should clean it out.
I didn't think that the excavator looked that bad but the pressure made it look like it was freshly painted. Good job.
The transformation after just the pressure cleaning is incredible. You've inspired me to pressure wash my backhoe this weekend!
Hey Matt, I can’t believe that nobody has mentioned a foam cannon. Mike Morgan got one for cleaning his equipment and loves it. Just a suggestion! Thanks for sharing your awesome videos.
They were around $15 and worth every penny.
Good to see her returned to some former glory. Nice work! Makes me want to buy a pressure washer now.
Matt, that was a great video. What a transformation! Props for re-repainting the counterweight. Be well.
There's a visceral satisfaction watching something like this cleaned of years worth of dirt. I really would like to have seen the clumps of grease cleaned off but the camera lens would probably have to be cleaned repeatedly due to the backwash splatter. Always enjoy your videos.
👍👍👍
The color looks fine on the video.
