Definitely the missing link for me. Tried these last night and it went smoothly. All your videos are so comprehensive. Your channel is such a great service! So important to stay healthy and strong as the big day approaches!
Thank you Coach Jane for sharing this strength training session. I was thinking, "cool my calves look almost as strong as Coaches, but my knees don't seem to want to bend as easily". LOL, it's all good, and Have an AWESOMENESS week Coach.
And the strength helps with that, right??! But I get it...as we age, it all just gets a bit harder. I see the movements my kids do and I'm just in awe haha!
As I age,"65" I notice more things that I used to take for granted, leg strength being one getting weaker, doing what I can to prevent falls, these will be a great help at the gym......or home!
Hey Runners! I recommend doing this hip and glute session 1x/week (aim for 2-3 sets) and then do one of my other lower body strength sessions 1x/week. OR if you want to do 3 strength sessions per week, doing all 3 is even better! Lower Body #1: ruclips.net/video/Oh_MIVp4LRw/видео.html Lower Body #2: ruclips.net/video/irr-mHxvyfo/видео.html Keep it simple so you'll do it! These are very effective when done consistently week after week.
I have been doing your 3 strength workouts as suggested! On week 9/16 of marathon training now and they definitely help. Do the side leg raises ever get easier?! 😅 Thanks for your great content as always, so nice to have a good follow along routine 👌🏽
Thanks! Very manageable 9min workout. I wanted to ask if you can do a “what I eat in a day” video during marathon training and how it varies on long day day vs rest day vs easy run day
Hi Tarryn! I don't know that I will do exactly that topic as I think each person is very unique, but I would definitely be up for just showing generally how I approach it. And quite honestly, most days look the same for me other than I immediately get in a high protein/carb snack after a long run or speed session.
The one I use the most if the "heavy." I think mine are a bit lower quality, so the other ones don't offer much. But everyone is different! The X-Heavy is hard lol.
Upper body I don't have a specific set for. I do push-ups pretty much everyday - can't recommend push-ups to people enough...and also mix in bicep curls, tricep extensions and rows when I do these lower body workouts.
Thank you Jane. 🙏🙏
You're welcome!!

Thank you for the kind words and so glad this was helpful for you, Thomas!
Nice workout regimen. I incorporate runner-specific kettlebell & battlerope workouts.
Those sound great, too! I actually need to get myself a kettlebell as the 2 dumbells can be a bit cumbersome for certain workouts.
@@runningwithjane Cheers, Jane. Thans as always for the great content :-)
Thx! Will definitely help for upcoming half marathon and future training blocks. Just what I needed👍
So glad it will be a useful set for you!
This just targeted all of the pain I have been experiencing at the end of my long runs. Thank you!
So glad it's going to be helpful for you! It is very effective and same types of exercises that PTs often prescribe.

Absolutely! I think about this so much. Strength work is such a necessary part of just being able to move comfortably and freely as we age.

So happy you find them helpful, Maya! LOL, I agree the side leg raises are always tough...which means they are so valuable!
Thanks, half way through training for my first Marathon and starting to get some niggles, pefect timing, will add this
Let me know how the exercises go for you!

What intensity band do you use? What do you suggest as an upper body regimen for runners? Thank you!!
