Thanks Joey! We're a pro audio sales and studio design company, so we work closely with all the top speaker manufacturers, allowing us to have the awesome setup you see here.
@@WestlakePro Ah of course, sorry you did say that in the video. You folks have a well thought out approach to building studios, with a good partnership with your suppliers. I believe he may have had his terminologies backwards. But I think he’s talking about the acoustic quality built into the rear of the speaker. Not the actual speaker components/amps. Thank you for watching!
@InTheMixJoeCarrell I'm not sure what you meant by "acoustic built quality into the rear of the speaker" ? Isn't it absolutely the same as built-in components and power amplifier driving speaker? Kii Three is 6 x 250 Watts per speaker, all drivers are active. Nice video but it shouldn't be misleading regarding tech specs of product you are trying to promote end sell.
😂😂😂. I do get the heart rate up 3 or 4 times a week if I can!!! As I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed it massively improved my mental focus🎉🎉. Thank you for watching
Westlake Audio was founded in part by Glenn Phoenix and had three divisions: recording studios, monitors, and pro audio. The pro audio division is now Westlake Pro (us!), and the studio division turned into the infamous Westlake Studios. Glenn still runs Westlake Audio Monitors, but they're created in very limited quantities, so we don't currently have any on display. We could absolutely get them in for a demo if someone requested them!
Ah, that make sense now, thanks! I was wondering what the connection was. The Westlake stuff is legendary coolness. it would be awesome to see some of their designs trickle down into the home studio/ pro audio realm.
Kind of both. It’s a functioning studio building that westlake took over a few years ago. So it’s their show room, training, facility, etc.. Thank you for watching and have a great weekend
We're a pro audio sales and studio design company, and our Nashville location is a showroom as well as a fully functional studio! As Joe mentioned in another comment, the building was a functional studio when we took over, although it was in a rough state. @@InTheMixJoeCarrell Hey Joe, no worries. You were very upfront about not knowing about them. My public speaking is terrible. I mix up words and forget where I am.
The Kii Three speaker have NOT passive radiators as mentionned here. These are 6 ways ACTIVE speakers using DSP to achieve cardiod sound dispersion (using phase cancellation principle). The result is sound that is projected only on axis of the speaker from 50hz and above, no sound around or behind the speaker so no wall reflexions and much less room modes excited.
I had never heard of them until that day. I believe he may have used the wrong terminology but it sounded like he was talking about an acoustic quality that is built into the rear of the speaker. Not talking about speaker components themselves. They had just had an event for that brand in that room however, I was unable to attend. Interesting for sure. Thank you for watching!
Your Welcome Sir. Passive radiators are a very common system like bass ports, used to extend the frequency response of a monitor, they consist of baffles with no amplification. The Kii three are something else. They have two woofers on the back and two on the sides that have individual dacs and amplifiers, and using phase rotations of the signal in each woofer you end up with sound projected only in front of the speaker. Very clever stuff. People say they are the most transparent revealing speakers on the market today. The legendary mastering engineer Bob Katz swears by them. But again 18k $ for base model...@@InTheMixJoeCarrell
