    Good stuff. Looks like a lot of the prep time is spent chopping the vegetables - if anyone's really not interested in cooking, I would just use a bag of frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, onions, sometimes all sold together, and frozen spinach), omit the potatoes and use a pound of pasta, use garlic and onion powder for seasoning, and maybe use concentrated tomato paste instead of the canned tomatoes since the frozen vegetables will have a good amount of water in them too. Could pull this meal together in 20-30 mins with all that.

    • @Jacket84
      @Jacket84 2 года назад

      if anyone's really not interested in "cooking"? to be clear, you mean chopping the veggies, right? because you still need to actually cook everything for this to work lol. you could still buy fresh veggies and pulse them in the food processor or a blender.

      Looking at the prep time in the recipe, it states 30min prep time and 30 min cook time. Thats not really a lot of time for a good meal and its always better to use fresh vegetables.

    • @Lucifer103

Add 2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 tablespoon oregano, cook down, add 1 can of black or kidney beans (drained), one can whole plum tomatoes, cook until thickened chili consistency, cook elbow macaroni separately ( follow box directions, about half pound. Add pasta to chili mix, add in chedder cheese, transfer to baking dish, bake at 400 or until bubbly and cheese is melted. Voila, Emeril LaGasse chili Mac. Add salt in various steps as needed.

I don’t really understand what you’re trying to argue here, what works for me may not work for you :) I also don’t know where you heard that something tasty can’t be good for you lol maybe that holds true for processed foods but not really for home cooked recipes. Well, there is another way of making this kind of dish, make the meat sauce separately like a chilly con Carne almost, after that you store that, and when you want to eat some, just boil some pasta, than throw almost all the pasta water out of the pot, add the spinach and parmesan, and a ladle or 2 of meat sauce. The meat sauce usually lasts for 5-6 days in the fridge. Yes, it requires about 15 minutes extra/meal, but I believe that it's quite worth it.

    Several questions:
    1) A good number of your recipes contain red meats. I've read numerous times that you should have a maximum of 7 serves per week (1 serve being about 100g), do you adhere to this or do you have more redmeat?
    2) Chicken stock is sufficient as opposed to chicken broth yes?
    3) What are your thoughts on plant-based pastas? i.e. Slendier - pastas made from Konjac (i've made things like bolognese from these, it's like a 'very light' pasta)
    I'd love to see more recipes around breakfasts that you can store / don't taste like egg (weirdly specific I know, but egg is so often recommended for breakfast and I can't stomach the taste of it in any form) and some stuff on different ways to get your veggies in without it being painful (i.e. your smoothie video, personally, I believe any food you have to 'force' yourself to consume is doomed to fail)
    I subbed to your channel almost immediately after finding it. I love your approach, the details you add, all of it.

      I'm not him but I think ground Turkey could be subbed for this recipe if you really want to make this recipe, it's worth a try.

      1) I don't really pay attention. I try to mix it up for variety but i'll eat red meat as often as I want personally. Usually its only a few times a week just because it tends to be more expensive.
      2) Yes
      3) Isn't all pasta plant based? The vegetable pastas aren't for me.

    As someone who is losing weight but still on 2300 calorie nutrition, even these bulking meals actually help someone my size try to get leaner.

    I burn a minimum of 1000 active cal just at work. Avg. 3000 cal total. I eat a lot. But I’m hoping these high cal diets will help me keep better track. Definitely challenging to put on mass when you burn as many calories as I do. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

      @@aaronwalker1549 it tastes amazing! Pretty easy to cook as well, just make sure you have a large enough pot because I had to cook my spinach separately as it wouldn’t fit in the pot.

    Hi, Josh! Thanks a lot for all the work you’ve been doing on making this recipes&videos. I was just wondering, is it ok to meal prep beef or chicken recipes for 5 portions (5 days for the week) or is it better to meal prep 2 times per week (3 portions at a time)? I am asking this from a food safety perspective, what do you think?

    • @TheMealPrepManual
      @TheMealPrepManual  7 месяцев назад +1

      2 times a week is absolutely best for freshness but cooking 2 times a week is less convenient so you have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself
