I really appreciate this meal prep... I'm a 28 year old woman, who is 5'10 and weigh at this current moment 125 pounds and find it extremely difficult to gain weight without getting fast food. I'll try this out in hopes that I can finally gain weight and eventually muscle.
I'm just a random subscriber who's been watching your videos for the past 6 weeks. Since then I've managed to save a bit of money, lose a few of kilos and feel overall healthier and better. This is all thanks to you man. You're awesome.
As a 6'4" active dude who started a bodybuilding program about 7 months ago, the hardest part about building muscle has definitely been trying to keep even a small caloric surplus, and getting enough protein on a consistent basis. Meal prep has helped a TON. Especially to easily give myself 4 or 5 instead of 2 or 3 meals per day, so I don't feel like I'm forced feeding myself in the mornings and at dinner time (when I'm most hungry). Thanks for the videos my man.
Definitely know your pain. I'm 6'2 195 and am on my feet working all day. I try to hit gym every day, usually get atleast 5 in. I've been trying soo hard to gain some of the weight I lost back. I just bought a 15lb bag of weight gainer to try and add some calories

I have tried so many meal preps and yours are by far my favorite. I’ve already made a few and I can’t wait to try more. Loving the 1,000+ calorie meals!
For sure, no worries. Typically I move a bag from the freezer to the fridge the night before. By dinner time it’s a simple soak in water for finishing the thaw.
I like how everything makes sense including the order in which things are discussed (same order that you would do things in when cooking) and how everything is clear (how many grams) to make calorie counting easy. Amazing!
These videos are so fun to watch, so easy to learn, and the foods are so tasty to eat. I finally gained weight and have progress in my weight-lifting after eating these 1000 cal meals for 2 weeks. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
1 1/2cup of rice russet potatoes olive oil salt and pepper sheet pan red onions spinach ground beef eggs oat flour salt black pepper onion powder garlic powder bbq sauce pinto beans that has been rinsed garlic powder paprika dried oregano
Despite not looking into high calory foods, it is very refreshing to see something else than classic rice bowls, they all look the same, keep it up Josh! As I am writing this comment I am actually prepping for my mac and cheese with cauliflower and carrot via your recipe.. that one slaps!
I don't aim for weight gain for now, but I'll make this anyway and divide into 8 and freeze the remaining portions for emergency meal. Great stuff as always!
I was almost disappointed because I'm not in bulking season but since you told me how to use this for a regular meal then I am a happy camper now. Can't wait to try this one
I've never cooked a day in my life and I've been struggling with bulking, but this recipe was very easy to follow and tastes great. Thank you so much I subscribed and will definitely check out more recipes. 🙏
I often make some of your recipes for meal prep, so thanks! I especially like adding pinto beans to rice, I always do that now. It's a great way to get some extra calories and protein, and it livens up boring rice. I'm not a fan of combining two different carbs in one meal though, it's just extra effort. I'm happy to have rice one week and potato the next.
i just eat beef poridge every day 75g oats 200g minced beef i make it plain with pickling vinager (ad 10ml before you eat and mix in) with tomatoe paste and spices curry garam masala garlic and i just switch the recepie every week add 200ml boiling water wait 10min presto chango hot meal ;)
Up to 7 of your meals, 2 I made twice, stocking the freezer so i can keep a steady rotation of different meals each day, I divide each in to 4 servings instead of 5, have my 5yo daughter help me prepare sometimes, thanks again!
So glad I found this channel. I’m doing my second round of whole 30 and as someone with an extremely fast metabolism, it is so difficult to meet my caloric surplus for training. Bless you!
Okay, I'm sold. I have big troubles eating enough calories to get bigger despite being a smaller guy (5'10, 147lbs). This recipe suggestion is going to help a lot. Got a few ones for breakfast too I just can't wait to start the journey :D
Been around since the carrot cake baked oatmeal days, just wanted to say thanks for the videos and all the insight, i've always hated cooking but loved eating so starting with the oats on sundays made my weeks easier, thanks again for all the recipes man, stoked to see you doing so well now. Much love from melbourne aus xx
Great recipe, thank you! Made this but turned the potatoes into mashed potatoes instead of wedges with some milk and a little bit of butter, left the skin as well as it doesn’t bother me (plus good nutrients) and season with salt, pepper, garlic.
I use these recipes for my breast milk supply 😅 they work! Keeping a high calorie intake for me is hard so having these eating once or twice a day makes up for the meals and snacks I miss through the day and I don’t have to worry about my milk supply declining.
Been a long time fan of your breakfast oatmeal bakes, but I recently tried your Dijon chicken pasta salad and Sriracha peanut chicken stir fry, and I must say you are the best! Thank you for giving these recipes for free! Keeping me fed for my lunches and saving money while I’m at it. Can’t wait to try this one!
Making this rn with my small oven lol i have to split both the potaties and meatballs in 2 sessions😂 but glad to be here, i started last week by prepping ur bulk breakfast oats and bulk pasta i feel so great❤️❤️❤️
Theres some cheap air fryers that could help shave that time in half by using it for the potatoes. Even if it needs 2 sessions youll have the oven available for the meat.
Thank you! Turned out awesome. Im a hard gainer plus age and stuff, gained some actual mass, but as said I did add peanut butter (most times). It also tastes great! Used the meal for the last month, and came back to post this, review? Can recommend
Can you make some high calorie/protein, low density meals? I need a lot of calories for muscle gain, but I can’t physically eat a lot and I don’t get hungry enough to meet the requirements by snacking. Finding recipes with this in mind is so difficult. Thank you for posting these!
Are you able to make a video from start to finish by going to the grocery store, buying all the ingredients showing us what to get? And other alternatives?
Love these videos, Josh, thanks! Ive got two high school boys playing football and wanting to gain weight. Im looking for healthy lunches, BUT, they dont have a way to heat them up at school. Appreciate any ideas.
I've been cooking your meals for over a year, I consider me as a big fan! As a college student that goes to the gym, you've helped me a ton!! shout-out to HEB also. Is this recipe on MyFitnessPal? if not, could you add it? Great meal btw.
Josh, I'm pretty sure those long thin green leaves that you see in your spinach are actually what are called "seed leaves", they're the first leaves that emerge from a seed after sprouting and supply nutrients to the baby plant. Most of the time they are "used up" or shrivel and die when the spinach leaves start growing. The reason why you see them in baby spinach is because sometimes they haven't fallen off yet and are harvested along with the rest of the baby spinach. Not 100% sure though, could just be a weed I suppose 🤷
I just wanted to thank you fo helping me and teaching me how to hold fork in order to bulk up or lose weight.. the caveman gimmie gimmie grasp is a game changer.
the rice is missing from the recipe. its 1.75c of rice, 1 medium onion sliced, 5 oz spinach, 15.5oz pinto beans, 2tsp each garlic powder, paprika, oregano. cook onions, wilt spinach, add rice, add spices
In future high cal meal prep videos could you break down the calories for each section of the dish, i.e. for the rice, wedges & meatballs? It would make it easier to work out calories for people who just want the meatballs and wedges for a lower calorie meal or equivalent in other videos with multiple components.
I’m trying to build that functionality into my website and it turns out it’s a bigger endeavor than my little amount of coding knowledge can currently handle
As someone who has a really hard time gaining weight, I really appreciate those 1000kcal meals, please many more! Also: is there a good substitution for pinto beans? Im not really fond of them
This meal looks awesome, any tips on storing these by freezing, i saw your tip for reheating from the fridge but any tips from frozen?? Awesome job as always 👌
I need to eat at least 1000 calories per meal. I’m only 165lbs but 2600 calories apparently isn’t enough with my active lifestyle to gain muscle. So much food. Honestly it’s the hardest part. Between gym and sleep the food takes the most effort lol
Great recipe, gonna try this one soon, I love meatballs! Question, you stated in a couple past videos that you only meal prep about one to two meals per week.... What do you do for other meals? Wondering if you could do a video on how to meal prep the 'non- meal prepped' meals.... I'm one that in a perfect world and with unlimited refrigerator space I'd meal prep about 4 meals for the week, but I don't have the room and that's a lot of time spent.... but I don't know exactly what to do for other meals if I only do one or two meals...looking for other ideas.
i'm 6'3, 23 years old and work a semi active job. Due to my calorie requirements this is a standard meal for me, 100% making this

Those leaves are the cotyledon leaves on the spinach plant. lol It is just the first one of the first two leaves that sprout from the Spinach seeds.
