      Sounds like you got two options that are being held up, from what I can tell. I haven’t seen too many Tremor orders built recently, and it seems like 6.7s are slow to production as well. If it’s not scheduled by April 1, I would contact your dealer and make sure your on the list to order a 2023.

    Dealer invoice will be probably 8k lower than MSRP .

    • @beardedautomedia2261
      @beardedautomedia2261  2 года назад

      Invoice probably won’t be 8k lower than MSRP, but D-Plan pricing can be close. Invoice for my truck was actually only a little over 3k less than MSRP. For AXZD plans, the final price depends on invoice of the specific vehicle and dealer holdback. From what I can tell, the more expensive the vehicle, the more of a discount you’ll see on plan pricing and the bigger the difference between MSRP and Invoice.

    I just got an email from Ford yesterday (04/08/22) saying they apologize for the delay, but they are working on it. I ordered the 2022 F350 with the Tremor package in platinum trim with the 7.3 gas. I placed my order 02/15/22.

    My order went in on 9/18/2021 F250 XLT 6.2L 4.30 gears Carbonized Grey. Truck arrived Monday and im picking it up this saturday. Right at 6 months to the day which im kinda surprised i got it that quick . A customer where i bought my truck waited 1 year and 3 months F450 dually platinum that is crazy. Longest part of the wait is getting the Vin once i got that it was 9 weeks to delivery.

      Glad to hear your truck finally came in! 6 months isn’t terrible, but for the 6.2 and XLT, I would have expected a shorter wait. Must have been those 4.30s holding it up! It’s crazy that some are waiting a year or longer, but the 450 AND Platinum trims are both a good wait by themselves, let alone together! Enjoy that fine rig, you’ve waited long enough!

    I ordered my 2022 F-250 Super Duty in May of last year and just got it on January 2022. I took out the carpet but still put in weather tech mats, no moon roof, added a vault, Star white to match my bass boat, 12' screen, spray on bed liner, heated seats front and rear, black leather interior, B and O 10 speaker sound system, 360 camera system, and as a bonus because the truck is 81" inches tall I added auto fold out steps and it was worth the wait. This truck is a beast after coming out of 2012 F-150.

      That wait…sheesh. But you optioned that thing right! I really dig the star white on these, especially with the black appearance package…and a matching combo, come on. That’s so gnarly! I plan to add amp steps to mine at some point, but I didn’t want to have anything holding up my build. You really made a huge step forward in tech and a GIGANTIC step up in size and capability! @@beardedautomedia2261 thanks did I really need that big of a change ? No but I got everything I wanted because I travel to fish in tournaments and this truck tows my boat like it’s not even there …. I can now go 400 miles before fill up and even though def is just another expense, I don’t mind it. I couldn’t get the black out package because of the auto steps but I find that if I wax my chrome, the bug and road debris is much easier to remove. I thought this would start happening sooner rather than later. When they started slowing production and started telling dealers build times in the 8-10 month range, it was a sign. Now the order banks for 2022MY are closing on April 1, so the fact that you can’t get those options tells me they’re saving what supply they have on hand for builds either in the queue already, or 2023MY orders.

      @@beardedautomedia2261 ya not sure ordering 22 when 23's are on the way was the best idea. but 23's should be released before mine arrives, so if i like it maybe i can just order a 23. not sure how dealer would like that, or if they'd let me. really hope 23 isn't huge improvement over 22, cuz i'd really regret not waiting then.

    • @beardedautomedia2261
      @beardedautomedia2261  2 года назад

      Truthfully, I don’t know if the ‘23 will really be any different. I know there are a lot of test mules out there with possibly new features, but there’s not enough press attention on them to make me think the changes will be on the 2023 model. Maybe more interior updates?
      For me, I really like the current body style and interior, so I pulled the trigger. If you order a ‘23, the dealership would actually benefit from the additional allocation. I’ve heard many people order a second truck without the constraints and just took whichever truck dropped first. The dealership won’t have any issue selling the other. Be aware though, ‘23MY are probably going to be more expensive.

      Window sticker will tell you the ramp code and the method of travel. However, the method of travel could say “Convoy” even if it’s on rail most of the time. The best thing to do to monitor shipping is have your dealer check the VVR in FMC Dealer. That will give you fairly accurate movements.

    Ordered a 250 6.7 lariat ultimate, tremor and bap. Of course the only commodity restraint at the time was the bedliner but I had no option to do bap without the liner. Looking at fords site now, they have an option to do bap without liner of course. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if my truck takes a year to get to me….

    • @beardedautomedia2261
      @beardedautomedia2261  2 года назад

      Great choice! Of course, I’m biased to the BAP and Lariat Ultimate. I’m glad Ford is giving customers the ability to drop the built-in options that are commodity issues. I think I would have opted to delete my bed liner if it had been much longer on my build.
      Depending on when you ordered, you might not be looking at a year for production, but I tend to think you may be flipped to a 2023 model year.

      I feel like as much as it has to do with constraints, it also has to do with powertrain with 7.3s being more readily produced. Either way, it blows my mind that mid-2021 orders still aren’t delivered. I’m thinking even though mine has an ETA, it’ll push way past it. I don’t expect it before mid-March, if then.

    I ordered a ‘22 Lariat 7.3L 176”wb in Atlas Blue. I’m a littler nervous on the color as I haven’t actually seen one in person. I placed my order on 2/4/22. I got the acceptance email same day and have unfortunately not heard anything else since then. Dealer quoted me 3-5 months for delivery. Personally I’m not to worried about the wait just as you. I’m hoping within the next week I’ll hear something.

    • @beardedautomedia2261
      @beardedautomedia2261  2 года назад +1

      First off, thank you for tuning in! Second…you’re going to LOVE Atlas blue. It’s gorgeous in person and I half kick myself for not going that route to begin with. I hadn’t seen one in person at the time that I ordered mine, so I went with Antimatter because I had seen it. Not long after, an Atlas F-150 Sport CC “standard bed” dropped…and I was kicking myself. Not at subdued as Antimatter, and definitely not as loud as Velocity Blue. My build had already been picked up, so I didn’t want to chance it getting pushed due to making changes.
      I think 3-5 months is a fairly safe bet, so long as it gets sent to production soon. I think if we get too far into Q2 with continued commodity issues, I can see Ford suspending orders on 22s and either completing what they can, or flipping customers to the 23 MY.

      @@beardedautomedia2261 when I ordered mine dealer told me not to go with the black appearance package as that was getting held up quite a bit. I actually did come across an Atlas blue F350 on my way into work today. It was a little darker than the pictures make it out to be but it definitely made me feel a little more comfortable about the decision.
      If we start getting to late into the year do you honestly think they will just push an order to a ‘23? This is my first time ordering a vehicle so I’m definitely green on this whole situation. Appreciate the reply. Keep the videos coming!

      Good idea dropping the BAP… due to the bed liner included it is causing backups. Surprised you were able to place an order with a 5th wheel prep, most orders with those are getting kicked back. I think Ford switched from 21 to 22 around March or April of last year. If they keep with the same timeline, we should be seeing the transition soon. Just speculation, of course.

      Great question, first off! I’ll try to answer as honestly as I can, but this is purely speculation: Since the Black Appearance Package includes a bed liner, they may not be accepting it with the current commodity issues. It seems like not many Tremors are getting picked up either, but the ones that are don’t appear to have the black package and we’re ordered prior to January 2022. my dealer told me factory do not have any of the fender linners, funny thing is he can order them true his parts departement, and Ford does not share, factory vs parts departements, that causes delays.

      Yeah, it’s a crap shoot as far as scheduling on the higher trims…almost seems like Lariats are the bulk of what’s going through. If they don’t have enough supplies to allocate to your build, it will keep getting passed over until they do. I think they’re freezing scheduling on Super Duty’s for a week or so…that could also be why you haven’t gotten an update.

    I ordered a '22 Platinum Long bed 7.3 gas on Dec 1st, was at the dealer on Feb 12, (10 weeks, 2 days- not bad at all!) had it in my garage a day later- added plow prep, FX4, dual batteries, and upfitter switches. Price increase on mine as well, about $1,300? My dealer honored the price I was quoted. Added my own bedliner (Line-X) and I'm getting my own tonneau cover

      You have no idea how glad I am to hear this! That has to be the quickest turnaround I’ve heard so far…just nuts! I’m really happy to hear that there are dealers honoring the price at time of order. $1,300 is $1,300. When you’re looking at a truck nearing or at $70k, every penny helps.
      I’m really wondering how big of a difference there is between the OEM Toughbed liner and Line-X. I always hear that aftermarket is better. Might have to do a video on that! What tonneau are you going with?

    • @ednelson4793

      @@beardedautomedia2261 ok- First, I was told Ford subcontracts the bedliners to an out side vendor - supposedly they put them off to the side and do a bunch at a time...there is a video on youtube comparing ford factory liner to Line-X ..someone had a ford liner and didn't want it, they wanted the
      line-x. In 20 minutes they had the Ford liner out- once they peeled up a corner it came out in huge pieces... by comparison they tried removing a line-x coating off a tailgate, and it took like 2 hours. Holding the ford lier up to light, you could almost see light thru parts of it.
      As for the tonneau? Learned a lesson there already- -IF- You have an 8 ft bed, DO NOT order a hard folding cover from "Undercover"! I ordered the Undercover Armorflex, because I liked the fact it already ha a coating of Line-X on it and it seemed it would hold up well. As it turns out, when you get the 8 ft model, they do NOT put a latch on the 3rd panel back. Because of this, you can grab the rubber seal and pick the cover up almost 2 inches, making it very easy to break in to, and if you hit a bump it bounces up. Even the dealer was pissed when he saw that! I was told by manufacturer if you add a latch it won't fold properly and will damage the next panel if you try. I returned it, and the next one I'm looking forward to putting on is the "Bakflip Revolver X4S"

      @@ednelson4793 GREAT info here. I really appreciate your time to educate everyone on these two items. I really hope that example of the toughbed liner was a one-off or poor QC. I’d hate to have to pay for that twice! As for the tonneau, I really loved my Bakflip MX4. That’s the hard-fold, panel design you’re taking about. I wonder if that will have the same issues as the Undercover. I do like the idea of the Revolver after watching a few videos on it!

      @ednelson4793 2 года назад +1

      @@beardedautomedia2261 I think the MX4 will be fine-I originally was going to get that one, and an aftermarket dealer told me undercover was better in their experience, and I liked the durability of the line-x already on it- they pointed out the undercover stored in a vertical position when opened and did not rest on the cab or window as the MX4 does. I actually saw a truck with the “Ford” factory installed folding hard cover and I’m 95% sure it was a Bakflip MX4 and I I remember it having latches on all the panels because I opened it myself, and it also leaned against the cab just like the MX4 - After more research I decided to get the Bakflip Revolver X4S (chose over the X4 because the X4 has like a piece of felt glued to the underside of the cover and a video from someone showed it coming off after a while apparently from the heat, and the X4S seems to be an updated version of it) I like the fact that when it’s open you can stow it rolled up and still partially see out of your back window with nothing touching the cab- hopefully it works out- the line-x dealer said he sells a LOT of the Revolver covers, though never an 8foot long one- it’s currently on order and should be here in a week or so- good luck with your truck👍👍

    Great video. Very informative. I too have a ‘22 Lariat on order. Super Cab w 6.2 liter, Sport Appearance Package, Lariat Value Pack, 20” wheels, old man step tailgate, spray in liner and a few other options taking the MRSP to about $62K. I’m trading in my 2019 Lariat as I generally keep my trucks 3 yrs and then do a refresh.
    I ordered it about 3 weeks ago. No word from the dealer (very small rural Western NY dealer) about delivery yet. No firm pricing either but historically this dealer sticks pretty close to KBB pricing.
    I’d prefer the spray in liner as the factory drop in unit on my current Lariat never really settled in up near the top front lip the way it should have.
    I wasn’t really looking to replace the 2019 until Fall, but figured if I ordered the ‘22 now I’d potentially not get it until then(!)

      Thank you for your kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! That order is so different from what I normally see. I really dig it! You must have had a great experience with your ‘19 to order another Super Duty.
      Ordering from a smaller dealer may help, but it could also mean they don’t have as much allocation to have builds accepted. I would keep an eye on progress, however ordering this late may cause you to be rolled to a ‘23 anyway. Factory spray-in liner is a big hold up. If you can manage, I’d try to remove it. Line-X will be about the same price as factory and you can do it on your own time once you have the truck in your possession!!

      When I ordered it the dealer told me that Ford was only accepting firm retail orders, no orders for dealer ‘inventory’ were being accepted.
      I was informed a few days after I placed the order that Ford had accepted it, but nothing beyond that regarding a build date, etc.
      I’ll keep your advice regarding the bed liner in mind. The dealer also mentioned 20” wheels could be an issue but I haven’t heard any more about that. Keep up the great work with your videos!

    Almost like buying a new f 150 as far as the pricing goes. I like how they finally include spray in bed liner for ya though. I guess once you get 60k and over they start to include stuff like matts and bed liners for " no charge" Otherwise that is a 300-500$ range option. Personally, as much as any of these cost they should all come with bed liners complementary.

My truck will not be at the dealer by then. I spoke to Ford marketing and they said they would not extend the offer. I feel that is sorry to say the least. Once the truck is invoiced, usually happens about a week before it’s built, the dealer should have enough info to work your deal. If you don’t mind signing up before the truck gets here, you can lock in that direct offer. Bedliners, fifth wheel prep, and bed covers are being held up because they’re outsourced and that business is having labor issues. Also, at the beginning of February, Ford stopped all changes to Superduty orders.

      THIS! I think this is the most likely of all the scenarios relating to orders being picked up. If you’re going to order, be certain of the features you want. There are some builds that Ford simply won’t accept due to those constraints. To me, they should close ordering on 22s and let themselves catch up with what they know they can build. Then start taking orders for 23s.

      I appreciate the info, and I see where you’re coming from. I’ve owned several diesels and gas trucks as well. From my experience, I’ve spent less for maintenance on the gassers than the diesels. Also, with the emissions roulette that you play with newer trucks, I’d rather not be caught by that out of warranty.
      At the end of the day, this 7.3 feels more than capable to suit my needs so far. I just don’t need a diesel, even though I would love to be able to justify it.
