May God bless you my brother for the excellent work, I accompany you here from Brazil. I have a Lakland 5502 with lh3 preamp. What is the best midrange frequency to use on it? You are a reference for me. thank you for your attention. May God's blessings continue upon you 🙏🏻

These Basses sound great right out the box; I didn't need to adjust anything at all, just tuned it up and it was ready to go. I always love to here JLL slap the crap out of a 55-02 😄😄😄👊🏾

Dan Lakin approached Roger Sadowsky about using this pickup configuration on his new line of basses. Yes, this pickup array originated with Roger Sadowsky's earliest instruments. Oddly, Lakin chose to NOT put the Stingray pickup in the "sweet spot". I'd like to see the 55-02 with the MM pickup in the sweet spot in combination with the J.

I love the 275hz position when playing the MM pick-up. But I prefer 600HZ when soloing the Neck Pick-up (p-bass tone.) I wish I could toggle between 275 and 600 on the fly..

Hey Johnny, Do you prefer the LH-3 pickups or the Bartolini pups? I'm curious and wanna play a 55-02 with the Bartolini setup; I just wanna hear the difference for myself 😆 ... I'm thinking the Barts MAY be a "tad" bit warmer than the LH-3's but I really don't know that to be facts. 😆

I bought Ed Friedland's (The Bass Whisperer) 44-07. Here's the video of him playing. ruclips.net/video/kad7ApOEugY/видео.html. If it doesn't come up the You Tube title is "Ed Friedland - Do it Again - Lakland. Love your videos Johnny!

  • @rmccain99

I hate the LH3 and the Lakeland pickups. The need to go with EMG or Bartolini pickups and stay out of making their own preamp because it sucks. They make a nice bass.
