I'm here because the Empire well and truly collapsed. HARD. Chaos was coming from the north, and I was the last Empire faction remaining and it ended by getting sandwiched by the two vampire factions. It is a fun campaign to reunite the empire so I wanna give it another shot. Very well explained, thank you.
Yeah the empire is one of the hardest factions at the moment, rush halberds and high level city garrisons and you might have better luck
Crazy that this campaign is recommended for first time playthroughs

Yeah it must be coded differently because the people who declare on you are so far away. I'm wondering if the diplo range for Franz is all the elector counts lands.
I like what Elector Count troops are turned into based on their rank from Karl's unique skill. Shame its only his army.
yeah his army is amazing late game and almost free too!
Would be nice if you made a guide on "balanced" or all-round safe army comps for empire and taking advantage of the general skill trees. Also comps vs specific factions commonly threatening the Empire. :)

Is there any reason to revive dead factions (besides todbringer) if I plan on confederating all empire regions already? I'm new to the game and I don't see why I would want to revive dead factions besides the extra prestige while they aren't confederated
They aren't automatically at wat with your enemies that you might have just taken land from. Basically they can hold new territory easier than you might be able to. Also 1 settlement factions are about as strong as 3 settlement factions due to the free background income every faction gets.
That all being said, if you can hold the land it's usually better to take it yourself
One important advise is to finish the wars by destroying the factions you are in war with, if possible.

@@LordForwind agree. But due to the fact that Karl finds himself in many wars early on, this tip is vital for his campaign.

I find it frustrating that the ai for the other empire factions are so passive/defensive with their armies even though you have crippled the enemy yourself.
My current Karl Franz on VH/VH campaign has turned into such a mess that Middenland got rolled over by beastmen and greenskins, Hochland Ostermark naturally got wiped as the first enemies for Festus and Drycha. Marienburg and stirland by the undead, Averland with ogres and Ostland and Talabecland get invaded by Katarin. This was all in a span of 30 turns. I don’t even know how Nordland gets involved with clan skryre which is crazy. Been able to give the thrashing to festus, katarin and kemmler while Vlad gave me a fat sum. But hey I can get Altdorf to tier 5 really early.
Yeah the ai outside of elsbeth is really weak in the empire
