Didn't know that - Feldman might well have recycled material he originally supplied for Frost. I suspect if we had a fuller archive of earlier material many sketches would be revealed to have been re-done later
@@lostintransmission3024- Yes could be, as Feldman was a contributor to Frost which ran for 28 episodes in 1966/67. Feldman was born in 1934 so would have been an established writer as Wikipedia states about him for the Frost Report. That said the Frost version was better and political incorrect. The England team marched on proudly while the South American slunk onto the field. The referee was called Swiss then Swiss German and then a Nazi is the South Americans beat England in the Soccer match as screamed out by the near hysterical English commentator..
@@adrianjackson2696 I'd like to see Cleese's delivery of this as nobody could quite do an increasingly hysterical pitch quite like him as per Basil Fawlty
Well. I was expecting this to be the sketch with Terry Jones and Michael Palin that ran on the Dean Martin Show. How many Marty Feldman Uruguayan soccer sketches are there?
Perhaps recycled from a previous Marty Feldman sketch I'm sure I remember part of Marty Feldman's commentary running "....and Danny Gruntfuttock sportingly kicks the dago swine IN the groin......." (NOT my words)!!! This really couldn't be broadcast now!
I remember this like it was yesterday.
simply brilliant.
Me too.
Punditry excuses haven't changed a bit.
Hilarious stuff from Marty. RIP, fellah.
Totally non-PC but a brilliant send up of the typical British commentator.
Awesome guy RIP xx
This is a copy of a better Frost Report sketch from the 1960's with John Cleese in the commentators spot. Wish I could find the Frost sketch

Weirdly, ITV's Sam Blatherface manages to top this in terms of blatant bias and mindless nationalism without even trying to be satirical.

He was very particular in his comedy
@@alexpollock6932 You mean he had to have everything his way? Or Uruguay?
