Duchene was booed all series in Colorado over his exit and damn, he finally got the revenge he was looking for.
He also gave them wayyyyy toooo much respect as a team and a city. But who cares at this point.... He hit the wide open net and sent the avs packing to tennis camp. Lol 😂

Gary Bettman notoriously plays the favoritism game around the league. That waved off goal on a goalie interference call…Even an Avs fan would say that’s a clean goal. the final say clearly came from a higher power.
Bettman is a Vegas fan. He didn't even show up for the game when the Avs won it all two years ago bc he was "sick".

Matt Duchene with a redeemer goal. Yes, he got the penalty call that resulted in a goal for the Avs and lit up the building. Then in OT2 when it mattered most he ripped that all away from them! With one flick of the wrist, Absolutely silencing the crowd!!! And totally redeeming himself. Shut off the lights and go home. Mac and Makar have fun golfing in Cabo.

I watched the draft of "Duchene" and then all of his games with the Avs and was always sad to see him leave the team, but even as a longtime Avs supporter, I was so happy for him at that moment! I couldn't help but smile!

Overall, this is just further proof that depth is stronger than having a few elite players leading the way. Im not a Canucks or Oilers fan, but watch Vancouver win the series because of their depth. Dallas vs Rangers cup finals

You need both imo. Heiskanein, Robertson, Johnston, etc. might not be AS big stars as MacK or Makar but they're still star players. The only team in recent memory who's won it without star players is maybe the Blues in 2019, but even they had some fairly talented guys like Pietroangelo, Tarasenko and O'Rielly.

Bro the first overtime was foot fully on the gas for 20 straight minutes for both teams. 2OT was the same way for like 6 minutes until the stars iced the puck like six times in a row and then the fatigue set in.

Nice to see Duchene score that goal for a lot of reasons, not the least being the latest example of the NHL getting a video review wrong. That play did not give them even a remote reason to get another one wrong in support of the gambling ledger. At some point, all the great talent and skills will not be able to overcome the league's taint from its embrace on the gambling industry.
