- Today we are making some tabletop terrain crystals! This D&D terrain tutorial is only on Dice Chatter!
This crystal terrain build is perfect for tabletop games such as Frostgrave and Dungeons & Dragons!
This is a great way to get started in making some tabletop terrain for new folks and those that are experienced tabletop crafters as well.

Convincing paint job! From solid pieces to translucent crystal
A suggestion if someone wants to build these sees this comment … you probably know about BMC basecoat-matte modpodge mixed with black paint. Y'know, I'd say this is a great application for the glossy stuff. As a glossy topcoat for the crystals, no paint obviously. Maybe worth a shot?
I'm looking forward to the Frostgrave battle report on these crystals! :)
Me tooooo! ☃️☃️☃️
Looks really nice. Best and most practical Tutorial on Octagons / Crystals i've seen for now. :)
Thank you! I'm glad it was helpful!
Really nice work!
I’ve tried my hand at Crystal terrain before but never really liked the result. But this method of clumping them together works much better for tabletop scatter! 😊
Thank you, Hobbyton3575! I'm happy how they came out as well!
I feel like if you went with colder colors you could easily do ice walls for frostgrave
I like the way you think Drew! ☃️
Obviously, if folks don't have an airbrush or just want something a bit more grounded, you can always paint the pillars in a stone color as normal.
But man, that crystal effect looks sick, tho. I'm imagining these erupting from the ground as Tzeentch daemons enter the battlefield, the magic of change warping the landscape beneath them. Their adversaries needing to hastily regroup as their fortifications are thrown into disarray.
Oooohhh, I like the Tzeentch idea! Good idea to start a fun game of 40K or AoS!
Hell yeah new dice chatter videooooo letsgooooo
Let's Gooo GRUMBO!!!
Awesome build as always! I'd add some pieces of thin cork sheets to make a raised earth effect, but your build does it well enough!
Damn, I wish I thought of this sooner! 🧙♂️

DONNY DONNY DOOOOOONNNYYYY!!! This was a sick wee video - I've been to the Giant's Causeway as it so happens, and I plan on using it in my current Pictish Scotland D&D Campaign... you'd better believe this is my next terrain build
Hell yeah Robbie! I always enjoy your genuine comments 😁😁😁 Glad I could give you a wee bit of inspiration!

Another fun looking build! Well done Donny. Going to have to add this to my dream diary.

this lands immediately on my to do list! great work!!!
Hell yeah! And thanks Mathias! I appreciate it buddy 😃
as always I love your work, I could see these fitting into a magic mine really well! Also where did you get those little dragon like demon miniatures?
I could also see a red and yellow/orange or black version of this being a cool way of setting up 2 sides of a battle field.
Thanks Robert, and I really enjoy your insights! Unfortunately the demon models were printed by a store that is no longer in business.
@@DiceChatter that is sad, but they live on in your videos... or um die on?
Damn those are gorgeous! Magic crystals are such a fantasy staple, and you absolutely nailed the look.
Also I have to ask, do you have a new mug for each video?
Thanks Keggers! Appreciate it as always.
For the Mugs, I have about 5-7 that are on a loose rotation. Never really plan which one I snag!
Awesome😂
Thanks a bunch!
Sexy!!!!!! Very nice job Buddy!!!!!!!
Thanks Terrainaholic! 🥰
