“Eren developing feelings for Mikasa is a part of his development!” No, it’s what happens when you cave to the demands of unhinged shippers who don’t care about the story. Literally everyone knows that when a character suddenly develops feelings for another character last minute, it’s bad writing. That’s bad writing and retconning 101. Also, did we forget that ISAYAMA HIMSELF said that Eren saw Mikasa as an annoying mother and nothing else? Or that he also said that a pivotal part of Mikasa’s character development was gonna be when she got over Eren and got rid of that scarf for good? But anytime you bring this up to defenders you’ll always hear crickets. Ridiculous.
Exactly dude. Even without Isayama confirming that, at no point in the series was it indicated that Eren MIGHT have romantic feelings for Mikasa. People point at the scene at the end of Season 2, when Eren tells her "I will always be there to wrap your scarf," but even that isn't romantic. He barely looks at her in that scene and shows very little emotion other than anger at the smiling titan lol. It's just so ridiculous.

1) i like the fact that you analyzed this manga ending and not just went : " haha it's bad guys!! " 2) i agree that a bad ending doesn't ruin an entire series, tho when the bad ending makes the whole series meaningless it ruins the series like Ayakashi triangle, in case of AOT it's something else, the conclusion is bad, but yeah it doesn't ruin the seriy
except aot is a story where it does ruin the ending because of giving eren the power to control all titans THROUGHOUT TIME. which makes every death and bad decision even worse in hindsight

8:55 It isnt Mikasas dream its paths made by Eren lol. Mikasa putting on the scarf is regressing because IT JUST IS OKAY. I agree with some points but sometimes they dont make sense
It's not paths. If it was made by Eren manipulating her memory so that paths was something else then Mikasa as a Ackerman would be immune to it in the first place since it's a illusion and she is oriental. There is no logical explanation that makes sense for that sequence other than Isayama REALLY wanted to adapt it regardless if it made sense or not. The scarf is regressing because she was supposed to move on from Eren. If she's still wearing his makeshift collar and not even joining Armin and the alliance on their peace talks cause she's sad about Eren and sitting at his grave everyday then she did not move on. It's self explanatory.
No it was paths and in the armin convo in 139 we can clearly see he can alter it. He did NOT alter her memories since ackermans are immune to it. They are not immune to paths however@@neonthehedgehog12
The ‘dream’ is implied to be shown by Ymir, the same one causing her headaches. At least in the manga, Mikasa gets a headache right before the dream, and it’s later stated Ymir causes her headaches. Pretty clear implication. It’s still a plothole since it’s been established for a long time that Ackermans are immune to the power of the founder. The reason Mikasa putting on the scarf is regression is because the natural end of her arc is to move on from Eren, and wrapping the scarf is a sign of her bond to Eren. The retcon surrounding Ymir and Fritz also relies on Mikasa moving on from Eren, since the whole point is that Ymir had to see Mikasa move on from Eren, so Ymir could move on from Fritz. Mikasa clearly did not move on, to the point that she wore the scarf to her deathbed, so even the retcon contradicts itself.
Here goes my breakdown of some wrongs things and bad plot of AOT and my dissatisfaction as a manga reader. I disagree that AOT was good until the last chapter, and only the last chapter ruined everything like most maga readers say, AOT started to lost himself and go downhill after Erwin death and the reveal of the basement, and then you have a 3 years time skip that skipped possible development's for characters and the original cast of characters became useless and without purpose, three examples is historia useless, mikasa without a purpose or goal, and armin that became dumb after he ate berthold and likes annie just because he ate berthold. After the time skip the only characters that do something and have a plan is zeke with the euthanasia plan and eren that became a one man army, eren became a a cold strategist like Erwin, smart like armin pre time skip, and badass like levi and mikasa, everyone else become stupid and useless. And then eren and Zeke go to the paths and then meet ymir, its heavily implied that ymir wanted eren and choose him to go to her and free her from being a slave to the paths, eren himself said that, and you have the plot twist of grisha seing eren all along and eren goal would be using the colossal titans to fight marley and everyone one outside of the island because eren goal was freedom for the eldians in the island and his friends. this was the story until chapter 122 and 123. evething else after is a shit show and makes no sense, armin and mikasa created the alliance forces with marley to stop eren from saving the eldians from certain death from the people outside the walls, it makes no damm sense. And eren taking the role of villain just to sacrifice himself because suddenly now ymir plot point is that she loved the king for some reason but in paths when eren saw her past she was a slave to that king and was very sad all the time and choose death by the spear to escape from the king, but in last chapters ymir sudenly loves the king fritz and the one ymir choose was not eren to free her like showed in paths when eren hug ymir and she cried, mikasa is the one chosen to kill eren and for some reason free ymir, the story gives a 360 and the story at this point betrayed everything that it was about before chapter 123 and 122 (the paths with eren and Zeke meeting ymir). and eren talk with armin in the manga after he died in the paths saying he doesn't know why he started the rumbling and accidentally send dina titan to kill his own mom by accident, WTF if he can time travel using the paths controlling eldian people why didn't eren controlled Reiner berthold and annie and stopped them from destroying the walls?, makes no sense this time travel path bullshit. and then you have falco bird titan bullshit aswell none of the 9 titan became birds, zeke spinal fluid making someone became bird titan makes no sense. Eren killing 80% of everything outside of the island just to back down in the last minute and let 20% alive that definitely will take revenge in the future over all the killing by eren and the island, and then eren removing all titan powers from eldians that are the only advantage against everyone outside the island makes no sense is stupid. Instead of isayma copying code geass ending but in a dumb way. Erwin died for nothing , zeke actually had some good plan in comparison to eren back down in last second and floch was a hero. And eren is a cry baby piece of sh4t that was pretending to be a cold badass after the time skip, but in the end he saying to armin he doesn't want mikasa to ever forget him f1ck off, never was confirmed that eren loved mikasa in that way and in the end he is crying like a baby over it. Just disappointing. AOT Should have ended in chapter 122 and 123. Eren uses the coordinate the walls falls colossal titans awaken, roll credits, the end. a open ending just like that.
Thanks for this. I didn’t fully understand the Mikasa and Eren bit when they said they ran away together. Thanks for clearing it up. As for how I felt, I think bittersweet is a good word. It wasn’t exactly… happy. Like at all. Eren telling Armin everything, and them just agreeing to go to hell together doesn’t sit right with me. It didn’t feel cool to watch at all. It was kinda unnerving
Fact: 1 : main char name helen yoghurt 2 : halucigenia really exist 3: isayama were ackerman 4 : attack on titan is gundam on disguise. 5 : on season 4 helen tell isayama to wrote pathetic ending.
I really like AoT. I am not even mad at the ending even tho it's worse relative to the great series AoT has been since chapter 1. For me, my fav season is S3. After than, I slowly checked out. Season 4 is meh for me. It has some of the best moments in whole of AoT I agree, but I didn't like how it is written. Isayama tried to gave us perspective from Marley side in order for us to feel that both sides are not completely wrong/are forced due to circumstances. This would have been great if we didn't spend so much time with our main cast and so little with Marley cast. I can't sympathize with both of them the same. And I hated Gabi. She was a waste of a character when we already had Reiner(who has seen that Eldians are no different from him; same arc as Gabi). As a matter of fact, most of the new characters were meh to me. Also didn't like the King and Ymir plot.
Same. Seasons 1-3 are definitely a masterpiece and Season 3 is probably the best. I was actually interested in the Marley arc. It was cool to have a change of setting and follow different characters. It was good up until Eren's attack on Liberio. After that, I was just confused by where the story was going. Then the rumbling started and I just started to check out. The entire 4th season & ending just felt like too much going on and it was rushed af (especially the ending).
I agree with everything except for u saying that a ending doesnt ruin the rest of the story it 100% can in some cases depening on how bad the ending ruins the themes that were set up earlier in the story and in this case it 100% does.

Attack on Titan ending is Hot Garbage for the Simple fact that Eren Sets his people up to be DESTROYED with no real Defences against the 400 million survivors of the Rumbling. Isayama knows it would only take 2 to 7 years for the Survivors to bounce back so instead he conveniently writes that it takes over 100 years or for the world to get their revenge on the 1.2 million living on the island, whats even worse is Forces the idea that the rest of the world will just forget about all their Family, Friends and Loved ones who died just so the Eldians can be seen as "Heroes" this way fans can have a corny view of Mikasa growing old/passing away and that stupid bird scene. Aot fans are literal Hyptards, they only care about action, musich and Animation. Story is something that does not matter as long as they get a few Corny moments that makes them feel warm inside. The downfall of this series started all the way back in season 3, when the Ridiculous Plot Armor was introduced
I think this dude had this video made before the anime finale. Seems like he doesnt understand certain things from the storyline. Also it being revealed that erens developed feeling for mikasa isnt character assasination, its development.
By your same logic if eren has said "im in love with a Annie" would that be also charachter development? ,i mean it would be a reveal of his feelings right? Your logic doesn't make sense.
@@nathen9085bro was literally begging for her to confess in that one episode. wdym by that cmt? you guys act as if there wasnt any romance scene between those 2 throughout the whole series when that one scene where eren protect mikasa from his dad's ex is enough to prove you otherwise

@@walnutsupremacy7903 and besides if you think they'r romantic relation ship was well established in the first 3 season, than i suggest you to read sot again ,cause there was not a single romantic moment from eren towards mikasa.
Buzz words? Flow charts? Bro clearly explains why the ending is not good to him instead of just calling it shit appropriately like you all deserve to hear. It's not his fault you have the attention span of a insect and take personal offense when someone is correct about your favorite anime ending.
His explanations for why things are bad basically sum up to “cuz I didn’t like it”. I’ll give you one example (if your attention span allows it). He thinks Mikasa putting on the scarf is regression when the whole prerequisite given for her growth is being able to stand up to Eren/kill him. Nothing is shown/said to imply that her growth is determined by whether or not she’s able to stop loving him. It’s the same for Ymir, and it’s also the purpose of the attack titan’s existence (the endless struggle of standing up to the authority of the “king”). The scarf signifies she will always love/remember him. Not only is that made obvious by the entirety of the series, but in the same chapter when Armin tells Eren there’s no way Mikasa would be able to just get over him. So no, the scarf doesn’t resemble regression. But just to clarify how superficial his analysis is, he says Mikasa kissing Eren’s severed head is bad cuz… it’s a severed head. True. Necrophilia is disgusting. But what does Eren say in his talk with Armin? “You’ll get these memories back when I die.” So Mikasa has one last headache, which is Eren asking her to forget about him and Ymir peeking in to see her next action. Mikasa then cuts eren’s head off, spends those last 4 years with him in the paths, and kisses him goodbye on the bench, but she’s also doing it in the real world cuz thats just how paths has been established. Edit: their love isn’t one sided, Eren is just too fixated to express ur more than three times. Once when they first meet and he vows to protect her, again at the end of season 2 when he once again promises to always protect her, and a third time in the finale when he outwardly tells Armin. Pretty much every critique he has can be debunked by just understanding the source material, which tells me the guy’s either dense, too bought into one of the theories that popped up towards the end, or he’s just farming for views.
@@weaklyxonin Yes there is. Ymir needed to see Mikasa kill Eren to get over King fritz. This implies Mikasa and Ymir and King fritz and Eren are narratively similar (even though i disagree). So The fact that Mikasa hasn't moved on from Eren and dies wearing her scarf shows that she clearly regressed in character. Even in season 1 she had more agency in her character when Eren was dead. She can care for him, but she spends all of her last days visiting his grave and gets BURIED in the scarf, she isn't with the alliance for peace talks she isn't a soldier or body guard for them (since they are normal people now) she just sits besides his grave mourning. And he's RIGHT about Mikasa kissing Eren's head. Mikasa shouldn't even BE affected by memory manipulation because she's an Ackerman, they don't clarify whether the cabin scene is a memory or paths and NO that is NOT how paths works, paths does not happen at the same time as reality, that is a space separate from where they are. So if it's a memory sent to Mikasa after he has died then it's a plot hole cause Ackermans can't be manipulated by the founder, if it's paths then she has no excuse for kissing his decapitated head on the lips because it happened before she severed his head. It's not like she needed to kiss him to convince Ymir, she just needed to kill him. And yes, it is one sided till the end, Eren showed no prior interest in Mikasa at all until the very end and if he did people would be able to justify Eren liking her more. If Eren loved her, they would have been a couple since that season 2 scene, there's no reason for them not to be together after that up to S3. but they aren't cause Eren meant that exactly as he said it, he world protect her, he didn't announce some long time love and admiration for her, he even moves away when Mikasa tries to kiss him and after it's never brought up again till literally minutes from the end where he's so distraught that he's literally huffing like a baby after a tantrum.
@@neonthehedgehog12 lmao bro wym more agency? she literally tries to off herself when she finds out eren's dead in season 1 and has to be convinced to continue her mission instead of going to him. as for anti manipulation, she and every other eldian can hear eren's messages and get pulled into paths. hes not manipulating memories, he's just bringing her in. so wtf you on about? Eren blushes when handing her the scarf the first time they meet, he reminds her he'll protect her when he kills dina as a refernce to that. it's also the moment mikasa came closest to confessing to eren which is why he responds the way he does. it's to remind both her and YOU that him wrapping the scarf around her wasn't some fucking possessive play. he likes her. Then he basically begs her to confess in marley. holy shit ya really take pride in being bad at reading.
@@weaklyxonin Bro got that selective reading already looking like a dumbass. I'm not even gonna stay on this point about s1 Mikasa anymore you niggas just read what you want to, bro just completely ignored her getting over Eren being dead and fighting in trost after his titan saved her (she didn't know it was him and thought he was dead and continued anyway). In S4 she spends all her time crying and is even buried next to him instead of going with the alliance as a body guard since they don't have powers anymore. AND DON'T SAY IT WAS BECAUSE SHE WAS DEPRESSED, Armin is his friend too and he still did what he had to, Mikasa didn't. It was a memory. Mikasa states to Armin after killing Eren "You got your memories back too" which should be impossible to do. It wasn't paths because why would Mikasa think she ran away with Eren if it was just paths? The truth is, this fool yams forgot and broke his own rules to write this. Ah yes, kid Eren blushing while helping Mikasa. Sure, lets ignore all of aot where he treats her like crap until the very end. And if he "begged" her to confessed why the hell didn't he just do it himself then? Cause in reality it had nothing to do with Mika, Eren just got finished having a mental breakdown fam, why would he care about asking his step sis that he already knows is head over heels for him if she likes him!? AND AGAIN If what you said is true then Yams is basically calling the relationship toxic by paralleling it with Ymir and King Fritz. IT'S GARBAGE, WAKE UP.

Ridiculous.
Where did he say those things? I know Eren once said he saw Mikasa as a sister.
@@YumesukeSutashika Volume 3 of Gekken Shingeki no Kyojin and the Attack on Titan guidebook. The English translations are easy to find.
@@YumesukeSutashikahe never once said that people usually make things up when they are mad things don't go their way. The sane way they made a lie saying he said in a interview that eren is supposed to be with historia.

He said when gets over him & she did that she ended up being with a different relationship & made her own family that wasn't eren. She cherishes him but that doesn't mean she can't move on.
1) i like the fact that you analyzed this manga ending and not just went : " haha it's bad guys!! "
2) i agree that a bad ending doesn't ruin an entire series, tho when the bad ending makes the whole series meaningless it ruins the series like Ayakashi triangle, in case of AOT it's something else, the conclusion is bad, but yeah it doesn't ruin the seriy
except aot is a story where it does ruin the ending because of giving eren the power to control all titans THROUGHOUT TIME. which makes every death and bad decision even worse in hindsight

8:55 It isnt Mikasas dream its paths made by Eren lol. Mikasa putting on the scarf is regressing because IT JUST IS OKAY. I agree with some points but sometimes they dont make sense
Huh?
It's not paths. If it was made by Eren manipulating her memory so that paths was something else then Mikasa as a Ackerman would be immune to it in the first place since it's a illusion and she is oriental. There is no logical explanation that makes sense for that sequence other than Isayama REALLY wanted to adapt it regardless if it made sense or not. The scarf is regressing because she was supposed to move on from Eren. If she's still wearing his makeshift collar and not even joining Armin and the alliance on their peace talks cause she's sad about Eren and sitting at his grave everyday then she did not move on. It's self explanatory.
what@@nathen9085
The fact that Armin wasn’t killed here or that Daz & Samuel were that clueless made this the episode I officially tapped out.

That hell line wasn’t in the manga. It was pure damage control. They even took out Armin’s line for thanking Eren for doing genocide
Doesnt make sense. The anime line is much better, damage control doesnt make sense when the worst line in the entire series got removed@@france69kory

Attack on Titan ending is Hot Garbage for the Simple fact that Eren Sets his people up to be DESTROYED with no real Defences against the 400 million survivors of the Rumbling.
Isayama knows it would only take 2 to 7 years for the Survivors to bounce back so instead he conveniently writes that it takes over 100 years or for the world to get their revenge on the 1.2 million living on the island, whats even worse is Forces the idea that the rest of the world will just forget about all their Family, Friends and Loved ones who died just so the Eldians can be seen as "Heroes"

All these buzz words and flow charts to hide the fact he just didn't get the ending he wrote in his head... RIP
