A320 new radio system | DRAIMS

Learn about the new Digital Radio and Audio Integration Management System (DRAIMS) on the Airbus A320. We show the technical details and compare the differences with the previous analog system.
-The new system allows the pilot to see at a glance the active and standby frequencies selected for all the installed radios of each type.
-Shortcut keys have been implemented for the transponder codes and the principal operating modes of the TCAS.
-Alerts from the FWS, TCAS and GPWS are broadcast through the boomsets and headsets, in addition to the loudspeakers.
-Failure case management has been simplified and the appropriate procedures are available in the FWS.
-Nearly 4kg of weight reduction per aircraft due to wiring simplification and harness diameter reduction.
-Improved audio quality and reduced interference and background noise due to the use of digital communications protocol.
-High level of commonality between A320, A330, A350 and A380 audio system

Yeah, but the A320 first flight was in Feb 1987 with RMP's, then ahead of her time.

​@@stabilo3170 no correlation with A320 first flight. DRAIMS first used on A380, that's back in 2005 and only in around 2020 if i'm not mistaken it offered as an option in A320.

@@chris22capt You shoud read my messages a bit more carefully bud. Indeed I was talking about the first A320 flight back in Feb 1987 fitted with RMP's (Radio Management Panel's for your information) then ahead of her time(!!!). And again for your information the first A320 fitted with DRAIMS was the MSN 6101 (flight test aircraft) in 2019.
