I’m a meinl guy but these are my favorite line of zildjian cymbals along with the new k sweets. But these take the cake. They are so unique. Great stick definition, defined cutting bell, yet its thin and the crashability is literally the best. I have the 21 inch ride and it is amazing.
I am a progressive rock/heavy metal drummer. I just want to say that I use those hi-hats,and they perfectly fit the type of music I am playing. Vintage 50's sound only adds to versatility of these hi-hats,they and should not be regarded strictly as "retro", it is all about how you play them.
I think the crashes also can be very applicable to modern music as well. A lot of drummers don't have that bold, classic crash sound anymore. everyone seems to go for bright and glassy. The crashes are absolutely incredible in this set
Hi Zildjian, i like to suggest one video about your jazz hi hats (A Avedis-Kerope-Constantinople-K) only playing swing patterns for jazz players hear better their sounds. Almost all videos have a rock funky beat or a hi hat solo. I am your fan. Best regards!
In my 35 years of playing, only the classic "A" Zildjian cymbals have sounded like 'real' cymbals. I still have and play several from the 70s and 80s that sound amazing. Hope these recreations work as well!!
I thought the Armand series that was introduced several years ago were designed to replicate the attributes of original Avedis cymbals. So, what's the difference?
I wouldnt be surprised if the A Series we all know now is a modernized A version, but the A Avedis replicates A WHOLE LOT MORE of the 50s cymbal sound of A Series
incredible sound, the only thing I did not like is the ride bell sound, it does not goes together with the bow, but still, great sound!! this hats, the k hybrid and the sabian evolution are the best hats I have ever seen
I've got the set of 14" hi hats from the 60s I have been looking for all my life. They sizzle very nice when slightly open and are not clangy when crashed. Also have an early 60s 19" crash ride that has a HUGE Zildjian logo. It seems to be an A that thinks its a K. A real keeper. Also have what I believe is the thinest 50s 18" crash in the world. It weighs 1016 grams. Bright crash and decays quickly. I love it. The new Avedis cymbals are nice but the hammering pattern is a dead give away that they are machine hammered not hand hammers like old school Zildjians.
20 is the way to go! Great crash and excellent pattern that will only get better with age... lol no offense to the patina. Hats need some work though. Like my 15" 50's too much.
Not by a long shot! Those are way too bright sounding and not nearly as versatile. The cymbals of the 50's were MUCH better and in a league of their own! These newer Avedis are fantastic as well!
Agreed. The hats are just not the tone I hear in my head that I search for in a pair of hats. They are too high pitched and weak. Like they maybe don’t have a lot of body in them or something. I play an A Custom Bottom and a New Beat Top now. Wanna try some K’s soon.
Proper old school looking cymbals. Love 'em
That's one sexy ass looking set of cymbals. A very tastefully sized logo. The sound is very full.

Best looking cymbals I've seen in a long time. Classic, understated logo. Oh, and they sound awesome too.
They look an awful lot like Paiste Giant Beats...hammering, color, etc... Love 'em both!
Well done guys! Very impressed.
Best series of cymbal I have ever played! So soft feeling and beautiful sounding!
I'm impressed...great job Z!
suenan increíble concuerdo contigo mi amigo Juan :'D

Beauties, and nice touch with the (smaller) logos!
I love this new cymbal! Zildjian the best!!!!

those are beautiful cymbals
Those are by far the best line of cymbals Zildjian has produced in years. They are super killer Smash O Rama.
They're so sleek and beautiful, I'd be afraid to even touch it
they also sound beautiful, I might just get some
hells yeah i own 2 ride cymbals made in late 70 i belive and they look similar and sound amaizing i want those hi hats now lol! #zildjian
Pure metallurgical poetry...Zildjian!!!:)(did I spell 'metallurgical' right first time out?!)
Hell of a video

I think that Avedis 16" hats can be used for modern music too.
Is that Buddy Rich Type Cymbal? Like the one he use?
What sizes are the crashes and the hats? And great job Zildjian! Zach is awesome
Crashes: 18", 19"
Rides: 20", 21", 22"
Hi Hats: 14", 15", 16"
What are the sizes Zach uses in this video? From his left to his right.
I don't like the Ride or Hi Hats, but the crashes are nice especially the 18".

Woow I liike itt :D
they sound pretty dark to me.. still love the K more..
A custom is best cymbal

Idk the crashes are good but I'm not very impressed by the ride and especially not the hats.
really? the hats are my favorite of all of these

@@Quartiano here's an intersting sound that dennis chambers used. 13" a custom mastersounds top and bottom
