If you like my content and you like Flanker/top tier content I'm pretty certain you'll like Bad Karma's channel as well: www.youtube.com/@Bad_Karma777 My previous Flanker video pre-buff still had some useful stuff in it as well, namely lots of tips about using the R-27ETs which I don't mention in this one. So If you haven't watched it you may find it useful: ruclips.net/video/QmOvaIj8OpI/видео.html
One thing i like to note with flankers is that because they have an insane missile count its actually worth using some missiles early on to act as a deterrent against other people that are too confident in their positions this allows you get further in and if you feel like your a bit too far in a furball you always have the multipathing and ground cover to give some chance. I see too many people sit back and become useless in a furball cause they were way too far away and worried about being in range. Having a high missile amount means that at the start you should always aim to at least launch two fox 3s before you enter any furball. Its pretty much standard practice amongst many airforces even if it means being outside the MAR
Before 'Angle Gate,' the SU-27SM was the plane I frequently racked up the most kills. To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with this Flanker when it first came out. But after watching competent Flanker pilots, however, and emulated their play style, I had a lot of success with the plane. Edit: did enjoy MGF-3's new style of coneten.
To the format: I think this was a great overview, you explain everything very coherently as always. On a personal note, I'd maybe like to see less variety in exchange for seeing multiple scrims of the same game mode. But that's just because I'm really into seeing more high-level gameplay.
That was a fun video and the different style worked well for this second coverage of the flanker One thing i think the viewers didn't know were that you do scrims and tournaments with other friends and players, so maybe sometime in the future there can be a dedicated video on that topic?
One tip for you. Dont spam chaff before getting into the correct notch because that's just a waste of chaff. Start chaffing when you are into the 95-100º from LOS of the incoming missile, a little bit more cold than pure 90º, usually 1 or 2 chaff will do the trick, even for BOL chaff
Rather chaff one time too many than one time too little, chaffing while turning makes it more likely for one of the chaff to be popped while "in notch".
Yeah we're all guilty of not being efficient with chaff from time to time, but yeah I'd rather chaff too much than not enough. Priority is always survive at all costs. Especially short range where you may not have the time to properly adjust your notch, long range launches I tend to follow the pattern of find notch > double tab chaff > change altitude then repeat if required
@MiGanFox3 ofcourse, but for example on 3:50 you started chaffing away too early when just facing 1 missile that was clearly visible and you had plenty of time to notch correctly. You wasted a lot of countermeasures there where a couple would reliably suffice.
@@HighRiskV Yeah fair, at the time I was (falsely) worried about an ER coming given the M29 warning on my RWR. Watching it back though it seems clear it was a warning for someone else that I picked up the false positive signal for
@@Carlosdf14 chaffing outside of the correct notch has no impact on the missile seeker regardless of maneuver. You just need to take into account that the missile interception trajectory and radar LOS is slightly different and your own aircraft movement vector doesn't align with your nose because it drifts while maneuvering (AoA)
I'm grinding Israel at the moment so I will consider it. Extra CM and access to both Derbys and AMRAAMS for close and long range respectively is a pretty good loadout
If you want to watch who is probably the best flanker pilot in wt, you should watch simply sinful. Full real, sim main, but man, his control with the flanker is impeccable
@@claydonovan3249 Yeah it's not instant, and remember you can't see how long or how many times I'm hitting my key binds Also remember the Flanker works in fixed sectors, it doesn't pan across like most radars. So it just snaps between left centre and right
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Viggen JA37DI. I've been enjoying the heck out of it lately. Really like how the plane manoeuvres. It also has a very decent missile line up for it's BR. Even in uptiers it performs well.
@MiGanFox3 Awesome! Thank you for the quick reply! I've been using it to grind to the JAS39C, since I find the JAS39A a bit lacking in the missile department compared to the lower BR placed JA37DI.
i love how everyone who tries to talk about positioning basically just ends up saying bait your teammates/ wait for teammates to spot people so i can be a little scavenger
I touch on manual radar controls in my F-15E video: ruclips.net/video/ThrAw0HRcQ8/видео.html Just check the chapters if you want to skip to that part In short if you want to move it on the horizontal axis you need only bind 'Horizontal Radar/IRST target cue control axis'. If you want to move it on the vertical axis you'll need to first disable 'constant elevation of radar antenna' in your settings, then bind 'Radar/IRST tilt control axis'
@MiGanFox3 I've tried using the horizontal axis with the su-27sm and I've ran into the problem that it either goes to the right or left but I can't get it back at the center. I'm using relative control btw. I've even tried binding the "reset axis" button to no avail. Are there other stuff we have to mess around on the horizontal axis settings you haven't showed in your F15E video for it to work on the flanker? Great video btw
@@1NSANEx So first up Flanker radar only moves into 3 fixed sectors horizontally (unlike others which are completely unbound) Edit: To move it into a new sector hold down your keybind until it switches, go into test drive to try it Not sure what you mean by 'relative control'? Here's what mine looks like for example: imgur.com/eZkfybN
@MiGanFox3 but f15e is like almost 2 tons lighter empty, 14 tons vs su 27 16 tons. And when I was in a rate fight with su27 once in random it felt like f15 was better.

Hello I was gonna ask for some help, I have been watching your videos and trying to implement them into my playstyle but almost every match I am either the first to die or i die without achieving anything in the battle, I try everything I can, flying low, flying high, notching, multipathing and chaffing and banking but nothing I do seems to work, even with a premium account I lose money with every round that I play I cant do this anymore but I love the game I just want to be good at it and it seems its the one thing I am not. I am just trying to ask for help.
At this point then I think the only way I could help is by looking at a few replays. If you can send me a link to a couple of server replays from here: warthunder.com/en/tournament/replay where you die and you don't understand what you did wrong If I have time I'll take a quick look for you 👍
could u show positioning throughout the entire match, i find myself trying to get a good position straight away but just getting shot at from multiple angles, and then defending leaves me out of position
So I talk more about positioning in this video from a while back: ruclips.net/video/IesnWrg0QBs/видео.html You'll notice in all my videos I follow the trend of 'go left' at varying degrees of altitude. In all the air rb clips in this video for example you should notice I'm flying in from the left every time. In more brawler type aircraft I stick below contrail height to not be as visible. In F-15/EF I tend to climb high to maximise the potential of the amraams. Just remember when you need to notch to defend towards teammates rather than further into danger
I've not flown either as they're meant to be slightly worse than the native Russian versions. However I don't recall off the top of my head what the exact differences are. Though if I recall correctly the J-11A did not receive new engines compared to the 27SM which did
They are just plain worse. The early J11 is copy pasted with extra weight, the J11A is just miserable when compared to the Su27sm, less missiles, worse avionics, even more weight, less thrust.
@@TheMasterReflect I think both have 2, but that's not really an issue because you shouldn't be spamming R77's outside of their radar range to begin with.
This is a plane that desperately needs decompression. Su-27 13.0 is much more usable imo because you get downtiers and r-77s are kinda a side grade to r-27er imo
That is my usual loadout (for air rb at least). But given I covered the ETs extensively in my last Flanker video, I decided to change it up a bit to stop the video being too repetitive
ERs are still really good missiles and probably best ussr long range missile. but i have a hard time finding a spot on it on my SM. i have 1 on my J11A

Yes it's more about pressuring the enemy into making mistakes then anything else, though you'll sometimes get a lucky kill out of it.
