OMG so satisfying, I truly miss cutting keys at my old job :-). I used the M keyway, L keyway, and double mill for both keyways to make a grandmaster key. I miss being in the sound proof room on my days to cut keys. I used to make cores too.
Nice video. A few things to note, you are on a Kaba Peaks system which uses keyways B1, B2, etc. However all the blanks are simply marked KB as you showed. In this case the 7 does not refer to the number of pins.
That book was made for our one site by BEST. You can go to a locksmith to make up a similar book for your site or you go to the internet search. Search for master key system. let me know what you find.
Best will mark the specific keyway of your master system on the machine when you buy it but it can cut any key with the indexing cut on the warding on that same side. They make different carriages that hold the key normal, Peaks and W* series blanks.
If he thinks that this cutter is heavy - it’s about 24 pounds - he should have seen the previous version, which ran about 32 pounds. Those cutters used to get shipped in a crate, not a box. Those cutters were most often red, in case you ever see o e on eBay or whatever.
Thank you. The manual says set to 0 for first stroke but it doesn't work. You have to pull the switch all the way down below 0 to "Calibrate" for first stroke. That worked. Thanks for the vid I wasted 2 keys before this lol.

They didn't mark mine for some reason it's just blank.
@@BuckMcAntlerson The entire tag, or just the keyway part?
Good thing you cut it differently then you said
Hey ken I enjoy your videos and am wondering if you will be making anymore?
I try to make them depending on subject and work load and time constraints. But, yes I will be making more.
That's really cool! Thanks for sharing!
What's the best way to smooth out a key? I've cloned a copy and it's rough and has a difficult time opening doors and mail box.
Thanks
oldschoooll with a file and try some lube on the lock.
KenTraining Thanks Ken!
Are you familiar with the grandmaster/master used in the best KB-B9/10? What key is that?
