You honestly don’t know how appreciative I am that you posted this cassette. This is the soundtrack of my childhood during Halloween, with my Dad and Brothers. I can recite this whole tape sound effects and all. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart . And Happy Halloween
YES! i use to jam out to this tape so much as a child that one day my older brother and i got into an argument about it and he proceeds to slam the cassette to the floor and stomp on it completely shattering it. A few days later my parents made him buy me a new one but we never found another copy. Every year after that during the Halloween seasons we would search every store we knew but never found this specific tape. I even remember thinking that Michael Jackson's Thriller was the "Dumb" version of that melody and that the "Halloween Tape" was the "Real" and "Better" version. Sure there were other good "Spooky Sounds" and "Haunted House" cassettes that i enjoyed blasting in my Walkman throughout the years but all i had was my memory of this specific tape that kept me going... Until Now!!!
I had this as a kid, we bought it at Revco back in 1991. I remember dressing as Dracula, blaring it on a tape recorder -- doing cape jumps off my Grandmother's porch....good times. I'm 37 now.
Would you believe me if I told you the US military uses this tape for physiological operations and to torcher military personnel who haven’t slept in days, we mix it with random explosions and fire off blanks while blasting this from the back of a pick up truck in the middle of the woods

I can’t believe this exist outside of my existence. I had this tape a million years ago. It’s great to hear it again. I found out that the background music is called Birds of Fire by Mahavishnu, and of course MJ with a version of Thriller. Thanks for the post. HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!!!
We had a crazy cat Lady who lived in a broken down mansion down the street and nobody would go into her house but me. She actually had candy and I would get bags of it! 😂😂😂
I got this tape around 1986 or so, there were many rip offs of it being sold at the time, but I remember going over to my friends house and we would dance around to it anticipating Halloween in the coming weeks.
I had this as well! Wow. The memories came flooding back! Michael Jackson’s Thriller rip off at the start was something that I thought was the coolest lol!
I did too and I lost that tape many many years ago and I haven’t thought of it in years and just also an out of the blue the other day ago I remembered it decided to look it up and at first I thought there’s no way I’m gonna find any trace of it on the Internet let alone a video of it and I was shocked actually find this video and listening it just brings me back to 1994, I was obsessed with this tape
Jay P I didn’t think I’d find it either but there it is - including a photo of the label on the tape! I think I bought mine in the early 90s at Walmart or something and it was eventually tossed. I’m thinking of converting t to MP3 and burning it to disc this year.
My aunt had this playing one year during Halloween on repeat and I absolutely loved it ! I found the tape years later at a local Wal-Greens for $3 and I would play it every year for Halloween as a tradition! I always loved the jazzy music in the background accompanied by all the horrifying sounds .. it reminded me of playing Super Castlevania 4 ! Thanks for uploading this to RUclips ! It’s been YEARS since I heard this tape !
I don’t know why, but tonight, my brain remembered that my family had sound effects tapes and CDs, our house was always so decorated and quite animated in the 90’s. And a quick research on RUclips made me found at least 3 tapes and CD uploads… can’t believe I found it here. This exact tape can be heard on a Video8 recording of our home!
Now that its been uploaded why does it matter what format it was on? You need help downloading it? I can assist, the tool youtube-dl is pretty dang handy.

100%
I’ve been looking for this for years now!! Man these were some great times!
Whoever chose that jazz arrangement of Stravinsky is a genius. It's pure chaos.
Half of the tape is literally random horror noises put with smooth jazz music. You can even hear a ambulance siren at one point.
thats the part that always confused me
This whole tape is so unnerving like what’s going on it sounds like like a guy drowning in mud too at one point
Would you believe me if I told you the US military uses this tape for physiological operations and to torcher military personnel who haven’t slept in days, we mix it with random explosions and fire off blanks while blasting this from the back of a pick up truck in the middle of the woods

Any idea what the jazz piece in the background is?
Joseph Sweeden it's in the description
Don Sebesky (Artist) The Jazz album is Giant Box, the actual piece is an improv of Stravinsky's Fire Bird Suite..
