I absolutely love tapes like these as they were the first to bring Halloween to us in the 80's and efforets to make these were so much greater than today's digital world!!
I remember going through my dad's old collection of tapes as a kid and finding this and popping it in and instantly being excited for Halloween season. What a great throwback, thanks for the nostalgia!
I didn't grow up with "Super Dad" playing this through the house stereo system with strobe lights and a fog machine in the front yard. I grew up the only child raised by elderly grandparents that played this on my little boombox in my room by myself with the lights off for fun and I wouldn't change a thing. Awesome to be a grown ass man and find this on RUclips. Thank you!
I spent an ungodly long time trying to find this cos I have this on CD somewhere, but it's lost to the void. That telltale shriek about three minutes in had me fist pumping the air in victory. THANK YOU!!!!
I do believe these tapes were found at Kmart back when they were King of retailers during this time when it came out. I know for a fact the original Chamber of Horrors tape which I had in my early teens was bought there.
Thank you so much for the upload ! I haven't heard this since I was a kid, I had the "Horrible Sounds of Halloween" tape, and I always played it around Halloween, I had since lost the tape, and couldn't remember what it was called.
Ha! From one Gooner to another! I have the "Horrible Sounds of Halloween" cassette, too: highburycemetery.blogspot.com/2015/10/horrible-sounds-of-halloween-cassette.html
Never heard This version. Only previous version. I’m gushing about it to my dad right now and he’s probably thinking. What in the hell is wrong with them.
In the 1980's, TONY Inc. released two different tapes, "Chamber of Horrors" and "Horrible Sounds of Halloween." Then in the 1990's they used both of those titles again when releasing this new audio.
I ended up getting 3 different kinds of cassettes! to get this exact version! some as previously mentioned same name.used different styles of sounds ! and some of the ones I purchased still in the original packaging! I'll try to find out more information
3:02 to 3:09 was absolutely horrifying as a 7 year old and I was a kid into Marilyn Manson, lol. I've been trying to find this tape for decades. I got mine in 1997 and it said "NEW", with a vampire-like face on the left and a scary-looking purple man with an exactly round mouth with sharp teeth. I think the date on the tape's package said 1996, IICR. So I think it came out right during the transition from the mid 90s to late 90s.
oddly enough, we've never used this for hallowee, at least not since we moved to idaho in 2000, im guessing it camefrom a store or a garage sale, still a good track.
@@travisreifke4356 They were the same? I kinda remember the sides being different for some reason, but this was way back in 1997 so I could be misremembering.
@albalog2449 Yeah, I had this tape as a kid, so I remember. Plus, years later I found a copy on Ebay and I still own it today. Both sides are the same.
@@travisreifke4356 I see, must have been the Mandela effect on my part, I was about to turn 8 years old. My original copy got lost in a house move. As a kid around what year did you get yours? I'm trying to figure out if "Chamber of Horrors" was perhaps just an earlier copy of the same thing I had, because the audio in this vid is just how I remember it. I know in 1997 my copy was the one with the vampire-looking guy on the left, and that scary purple-skinned guy with an circular round mouth and sharp teeth. But I kinda remember the original package saying 1996 but I could be wrong.

well said. I'll keep my old Halloween cassettes til the grave...
Gets you're imagination going and brings back happier days 😊

So much nostalgia! I had this tape as a kid and used to play it all the time!

The absolute HORROR I felt hearing this as a child.
Nothing like the 90s!
I just bought this cassette still in the Kmart Pumpkin Time bubble pack on ebay for my collection!

That’s where I got mine! But I don’t remember this side of the tape at all for some reason. I have the other side memorized 😂

Is it weird that I find this soothing?
oh my god the cassette just got closer
Thank you very much for uploading this. It's one of the best of such cassettes.
4:20 I hear the undeniable sound of the Korg Wavestation and Korg M-1. I can't remember what patch but I'll look it up.

Holy shit this cassette tape is so nostalgic for me. I remember listening to this, scared shitless with my friend when we were like 11.
The skeleton literally looks baked. "Uh suh" *peace sign* lmao
bthomas11190 hahahahahaha
"Uh, suh duh?"
"Nah muh, duh."
The one on the right
I have the CD version of this, but no case or info as to what it was sold under for the cd...wish I could score another copy.
this is a good one. it reminds me of that movie, Legend.

Love it!
I still have this cassette must of gotten it in like 1997 or 1998 im guessing
Me too, I got mine in 1997. I'm pretty sure it was made in 1996 because I remember the packaging had that date IICR.

Hey, do you have side b?? can you please upload it. this was the most creepiest cassette tape when i was a kid.
Wasn't Side B just Side A repeated?
Both sides were the same.
