Not familiar with this pianist but this sonata a cosmic delight. I like the sense of urgency in his interpretation which heightens the poetic arch of resonance. It bubbles and gurgles almost playfully but the dynamics of Schubert’s message is prominent and brilliantly showcased. I am hearing things that I feel I may have missed with other renditions. This element of uniqueness of artistry is why classical music is so lively and ebullient. Sweet and swiftly philosophic; grand! And, that’s just the first movement. PWG
This is a very nuanced and, therefore, musically sensitive performance. All of the movements are played extremely well but the final movement is especially notable for its expressiveness.
