Yes it provides a whole other understanding of how the car works. Other wise I find they point and go and have little understand as to what’s happening under them. So when they slide or something like an emergency stop happens the one that has manual experience in my opinion will have more control over the situation

As someone that has been driving for about 20 years now i highly recommend getting your manual first go i am from nz long story short i did my test in an auto passed but haven't done it in a manual yet i did it last week and failed remeber that it is test conditions thats what messed me up i was way to relaxed and the tester had to fail me as i didn't look over my sholder and used my mirrors to much when reversing aww well i will get it next time.
If you have a intrest in cars or anything like that i recommend getting it some people are just not able to work out how to use manual and that is ok but yer i recommend it as its harder when you are a relaxed driver.

Agree, it's much harder if you've been driving an auto for a while. Hope you pass on your next attempt

I am almost turning 30 this year and have had an auto license in QLD since 2017. I have already had my first manual lesson and the second one is coming this week. Hopfully, I will past my manual test soon. Just wondering though - since everything is about to go electric, do you think there is time left for me to enjoy driving some fun manual cars after I get my license? Thanks!

Yes, there is still a number of nice manual cars being made and if you enjoy driving you should definately buy a manual car. I wouldn't be surprised if there are manual electric vehicles in the future. Good luck with you lessons🚙

Can you fail for driving with 2 feet in auto?

I am not 100% sure on this one sorry. I’ve never heard anyone failing for this but we don’t recommend using both feet in auto unless you are doing a hill start. What I am sure of is you will get marked down if you don’t control the vehicle properly as a results of using both feet and if you constantly ride the brake while pressing on the accelerator, you can fail
