Fantastic plant haul Jim 😃 The Brassaiopsis is great choice i know they still hard to get hold of the price is reasonable I think. Enjoy planting them up bro

Well done Jim on locating some rate beauties. Thanks for sharing. I too got a Manihot this year after searching for 5 years and trying to grow from seed and failing. Bought it from Big Plant Nursery for £45, haven't planted it out yet, still digging the new bed for it. My search for a Brassiaopsis Mitis continues, and the prices aren't getting any cheaper.😃

Great choices Jim. I have the Tropical storm Colocasia and I can say they are the slowest growing one I have. Literally 1/10 the size of others and it’s spending more time clumping than growing up. The Manihot is another great one and it’s supposed to be very easy. I was given a couple of small ones. Unfortunately they died the first winter so I think it’s best to plant it next year like you are planning. As far as the Brassaiopsis I’ve never see one for sale in North American so I am envious.

@tropicalpdx1341 Regards to the tropical storm, probably why they not seen much in the uk . Slow growth rates and rubbish weather , not a good combination.
I really looking forward to seeing the brassaiopsis grow .

So I actually looked up the Tropical Storm Colocasia and they only grow 18-24” tall and wide. That explains it. I guess I should have read the descriptions more carefully when I order online. 😂

@tropicalpdx1341 yeah I have a bad habit of buying plants first and researching after.

Manihot not all that hardy I don't think. My mate had one for 10 years with a thick woody stem. Left out for the first time winter just gone and it went almost down to the ground so defo overwinter

@ellerby83 You are right, there not reliably hardy. There's a lot of mixed opinions. I will be very cautious where and when I plant in out.
