    The more I see all these Tributes to Daniel Craig from such Talented people, the sadder I am that Mr. Craig will no longer be James Bond. He brought such depth of Emotion to this man. James was human; not just an assassin who used women as a means to an end. A wonderful story arc. They should end it now. Thank you.

    The franchise with Daniel Craig as Bond (the only Bond’s films I have ever watched. I did purchase the whole set of movies).

    Craig really shifted the whole premise of Ian Fleming novela. It became not just a realist approach but also an emotional arc minus the escapism of 007. We notice in previous Bond outings that every film can almost be considered a standalone. With Craig we dove deep into the stream of consciousness of what a modern spy would be like, only that it wasn't done with monologues, but with imagery and experiences.

    2 thoughts:
    1. If Pierce Brosnan brought Bond out of the Cold War, Daniel Craig brought Bond fully into the 21st century. Between the end of Brosnan's run and the start of Craig's, the Bourne movies had come out. Starting with Casino Royale, they were able to adapt to that style but at the same time still keep the essence of Bond.
    2. With No Time To Die, he broke the curse that every Bond who did more than 2 movies (Connery, Moore and Brosnan) always had their last movie as their worst. It wasn't his best, that would be Skyfall imo, but Casino Royale is close. It definitely wasn't his worst (Quantum of Solace) and it was a step above Spectre.

    Please make a video on how different No Time To Die would have been if Danny Boyle have directed the movie.There are some rumours that Danny Boyle got fired because he refused to kill the iconic character.I grew up watching Craig's Bond even I feel mixed about the ending and the movie as whole although it is better than Quantum of Solace and Spectre.

    This so called Craig five film arc is nonsense. It's a derivative mismatch of Christopher Nolan, Jason Bourne and Marvel. They've been making it up as they went. Craig's Bond is not even a spy for most of his tenure. By the end it's a story of an actor who's self ego is more important than the character of James Bond. A messy, depressing era for me.
    Hard truth is, in the 60s everybody else wanted to like James Bond, now James Bond wants to like everybody else and has lost its identity.

    • @kevin_1230

      When was Sean or roger a real spy? None of the bonds are anything remotely similar to a spy.

      True! Cubby always knew how far he should go in terms of the current cinematic trend. This is just a mix of Logan, Endgame, TDKR, Bourne... Bond used to be the trendsetter not just an imitator

    • @TheBondBulletin
      @TheBondBulletin  2 года назад +2

      Thanks William! I can totally understand your view and reasoning. It was also not the era for me, although it started well with Casino Royale. I can find things that I like in all the Craig films, but not enough to trigger a re-watch urge.

    • @katemara667
      @katemara667 2 года назад +1

      Yes, I agree there wasn't enough planning and any continuity was cobbled together on the fly (Quantum of Solace) or by hamfisted retconning (Spectre). Add to that the abandoning of the grounded tone of the first two films and rebooting the series into a poor man's Dark Knight in Skyfall, the godawful writing choices which turned the series into a joke in Spectre, and the baggage from that which bogged down NTTD, and it's been such a disappointing mess. Which is such a damn shame, because Casino was so good and Daniel Craig's lethal yet emotionally complex Bond had so much potential as a character. Imagine if they'd actually planned it all out and written it well. It could have been amazing, but they screwed it up so badly. I'm genuinely sad that Craig Bond's time was wasted. I really liked his character, just not most of his films.
