I would kill to have routes/scenery like this. Wow. Anyway, +30 gains from just the Cobb OTS tune?! That's incredible. How did you measure results?

yeah there are some awesome roads here! im always looking for new ones. as for the gains its probably more like 20-25. its hard to say unless I took the car and actually had a real dyno test done on it. My AP comes with a dynometer, but its not very accurate. If you go to cobbs website, they have a section where they did a dyno on a stock wrx wtih just stage 1
      www.cobbtuning.com/Dyno-Database-s/70119.htm
278 hp 299 ft/lb. keep in mind this is on 93 octane, compared to 91 which is all that is available in AZ.
Im still very pleased with the results im getting from just tuning the ecu.

Couldn't grab the right gear through a corner if your life depended on it. Example: " oh hey I just hit a decent corner, let's leave it in 4th and accelerate out of it at the pace of my grandma somewhat having decided she needs to go to the toilet" defeats the point of having wrx if your too pusy to take crazy exit speeds

+Jacob Davine lol, Iooks can be deceiving. The highest speed limit on this canyon road is 35 mph. As for my ability in driving a manual and knowing what gear to be in, Im pretty sure I know what Im doing. Watch some of my other videos I posted on youtube of me driving my rex, and tell me you have the same confidence in your driving that I have. Im guessing you don't, and if you did, please by all means post a video, and teach me. lol

Video just doesn't do this road, or your run, justice. I recently drove that same road in my '15 WRX with speeds comparable to yours, in other words, I was moving at a pretty decent clip. But watching the video, it looks like just a brisk run. It looks much faster when you're actually in the car. ;)

nice bro! Glad you got to take your rex on that run too, it definitely shows you how well the handling is on the 2015. Do you live up in the white mountains, or the valley? That is an awesome road to drive, just lots of traffic on it sometimes during the day. You should drive the canyon at night bro when hardly anyone is on it. I ran it again a few weeks ago when I was going up to showlow, it was like 11 pm and there was no one on it, it was awesome! It never gets old driving that canyon for me.. just hitting those 25 mph corners in 3rd gear and giving it WOT. Way better handling than my previous 2011 WRX hands down. Anyways, how many miles do you have on your 2015 brian?

I live down in the valley. I've loved that road for many years. Just added 500 miles to my Rex today, took my kids to the Grand Canyon. I now have 3300 miles on it.

***** The 2015 WRX CVT does come with 'Launch Control' btw. Why are you saying "The thing about the cvt wrx is you can't launch them"?

i really dont care about 0-60 this is just my work/fun car, ive been driving stick for 11years, so actually to me, cvt feels faster than stick coz i dont have to shift it just go lol, maybe someday when i have lil money ill buy something different

Dellion The WRX CVT does come with "launch control", but it's in "quotes" for a reason. When most people think of launch control, they think of software in the computer that limits wheel spin to get a high powered car off the line as quickly as possible. In the WRX CVT, you are nowhere near spinning the wheels when using launch control. Basically, you hold the brake, then floor the throttle. The engine RPM is then held at 2500 RPM...against a torque converter. When you release the brake, that's all that's happening. All the engine torque has already been sent through the driveline and to the wheels and is building against the brakes. When they are released, the wheels are now allowed to accelerate the car, which they do rather slowly compared to raising the engine RPM and then sending a whole bunch of engine speed, which is rotational mass and engine torque combined to the wheels in a sudden and forceful manner which is what happens when you drop the clutch in a manual. In addition, when you're holding the brake with the throttle floored, the turbo is building exactly ZERO boost. I mean that litterally, the boost guage reads exactly zero. No boost and no vacuum. Boost builds immediately AFTER launch, but isn't used to actually launch the car. When you add it all up, and this has been varified in several automotive publications, the manual is about 1/2 second faster to 60 as well as through the 1/4 mile. The numbers speak for themselves.
And, BTW, I'm not talkin' out my ass here, I happen to own a '15 WRX CVT. Don't get the impression that I don't like it though, I do...very much in fact. I'm just aware of it's limitations.
