The New Rix Optics Stride ST6 Scanner Review

Had the pleasure of testing out the new Rix Optics Stride ST6 scanner back in Nov and Dec. This lightweight hand or helmet mounted scanner was very impressive especially for its size. ‪@RIX_Optics‬

Thanks for posting this, brother. I actually just ordered the ST6 last night because I really need a 1x scanner with a good image to compliment my N-Vision Halo X50 (3.5x native mag). In terms of the thermal sensor and specs, the VOx Uncooled sensor is made by iRay and it’s the same sensor being run in the iRay RH25 (they call it “Matrix-III”). Two questions. #1 does the image through the optical lens look better than the video footage you posted? Assuming yes. And #2 how does the unit look compared to the iRay RH25?

yes they image does look better than the video. Video always make thermals look worse. Its pretty similar to the RH25. I haven't had the chance to do a side by side with the two but I have used both and they are very close to each other

What happens when you mount on a helmet and look through a scope? Or a red dot?

You can't. Thermals cannot see through glass. They need to be mounted in front of your optic, but this model is not currently able to be rifle mounted.

I know they talked about making it a clip on but at the time I tested it they said it wasn't setup to be a clip on.
