  • I'M TRYING TO WIN A MAGIC REGIONAL STANDARD QUALIFIER (RCQ). This is the first step in MTG towards the World Championships, and Standard is the format that I initially started playing when I got in to Magic!
    This RCQ took place at Games Haven Paya Lebar and I decided to play the 5 color control/ramp Domain deck that was at the top of the meta.
    Join me on my live streams as I continue grinding Standard on MTG Arena in my quest to qualify for the Regional Championships!

    this type of video is what's been missing from the competitive magic scene for a long time. Really appreciate this type of content.

    I manage a comic book store that also does magic during the week. We’ve gotten enough people that we qualified to host our first RCQ, so this video was super helpful to me

    at 9:00 the layline binding was bounced but the creature that came from under it also attacked that same turn unless the cut was to the following turn

      Yeah he bounced it on my end step

    Loved to watch your experience. I am a commander player at heart and have only played standard at a few times at past draft events. You make it look pretty enjoyable! Maybe I’ll give it another shot.

      Yeah it's pretty fun, sometimes I just need to scratch that competitive itch

    Dude, as someone kind of new to competitive magic (still long time player), with some smaller unofficial tournaments as my only experience, I really love this kind of video. It's so cool to see first hand what it's like. Good luck in the future man. And I play a ton of standard in arena, and with all the events and momentum for paper standard again, I hope to get to an RCQ like this myself soon. I'll have to pony up for a deck soon. Standard is a ton of fun and diverse at the moment. It's only more inspiring seeing your perspective like this, man! 😁

    • @QMTG
      @QMTG  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, it was a great experience! Arena is super helpful in making grinding tolerable but it's really different in paper when keeping track of triggers lol

    • @Guevon_Pajaro
      @Guevon_Pajaro 5 месяцев назад

      For sure, arena is a one of the best standard testing grounds, then you can pick a deck and it's good to get practice playing it in paper. It's funny, a lot of ppl - - more by coincidence than fault - can be sloppy or not know paper tourney things and practices because of lack of exp, especially since covid. Hope to get back in like you soon @@QMTG
