Prince Buster: Sons Define Legendary Legacy

- Ska legend Prince Buster was laid to rest last Saturday at the May Pen cemetery in Kingston.
A pioneer of Jamaica’s popular music Prince Busta’s career spanned all facets of music, from sound system operator to song writer/producer to label owner and performer.
A father of 20 the “hard man fi dead” singer died in a Florida hospital on September 8, at the age of 78.
Two of his children Sulton and Saladin Ali are our guests in this segment.
Prince Buster is a history in my life. He gave me my first pay check at the age of 14 years old. I was one of the School Boys. It was two of us. Our hit song title was Little Dilly.
Prince Busters influence is massive, i fell in love with his music, Ska and Reggae at an early age and now in my own band releasing original music, The Scorchers Rocksteady Ska Band, thank you Prince Buster
Prince Buster is the king and will always be the king. I discovered his music in 1980 through the two-tone ska revival in Britain.
Ska is still alive and still wonderful...

Prince Buster also have a son call sugar and he in my honest opinion looks like his father’s twin I met him in the Bronx at my sisters house many years ago back in the shows Posse days he’s a beautiful brother that was always jovial

@TruckingwithRichBoss sugar Belly as he was called was a no nonsense man with a loving heart he was very good friends with my youngest sister who brought him to our mothers house in the Bronx back in the good old New York days he was a Brother that always wore a beautiful smile I found out that he passed away after he went back home to Jamaica it was such an heart breaking shock to me I wish you had met him a very beautiful soul
Madness first single was called Bring Back The Prince as a tribute to Prince Buster.
One of his sons, Jamal, is my coworker. When he told me his father created Ska, I was like, “Yeah, right!” Now I can’t understand why this man doesn’t have a Biopic!

That guy does not know what he is talking about, the original music fraternity in Jamaica was Mento it is. The Jamaica first music,I born come see my uncle playing music inner a band long before Prince Buster. Plus the first man in Jamaica to recorded a song was Harry Belanfonte, long before Prince Buster and Derrick Morgan them.Also the man who returned to Jamaica before Prince Buster was born also Derrick Morgan, is named Vere John opportunities show. He returned to Jamaica from the United States in 1939 and started, to recruiting people to sing.I know that man Vere John opportunities show on RJR, radio station. He died in 1966 , but I know that Prince Buster did a lot of things to the music fraternity. Man like Duke was a police officers, and have his own sound system in the 1950s before coxen,I remembered when the. First reggae song came out in 1968 nanny goat 🐐 version,by Larry Marshall.I was born long before independence august 6 th 1962, I was in elementary school before the name changed later on to primary and all age schools. Because in the 1960s the government started to build junior secondary schools, so if you are living close to that school. It would be called primary, because when you reached 12 years old ,then you would go to the junior secondary schools. If you don't passed your common entrance at 10 or 11 to 12 ,then you haveto go to the junior secondary schools.Since this You Tube channel came in, you as elders cannot tell these younger generation in Jamaica nothing. I remember when they mashed up Prince Buster car in the 1960s, when he sing judge dread. The rude boys also want to killed him about that song ,then he back and sing judge dread 1,000 years. Then the judges was sending away the bad boys them for some long sentences,I know those days in Jamaica,ok.
