I don't understand the hate in the comments at all... After all BMW still gave us a V8, unlike Mercedes which will make the E63 an I6. People will always find something to complain about, and not even the G8X models didn't get this much hate at launch
The new M5 is one of the BMW's biggest chokes so far. All the 5's prior to the G90 one are amazing, while the newest project has just nothing special in it

I know the new M5 has its deficits. But one of the reasons why everybody hates it online may be that a major fraction of the BMW audience cannot afford to buy a new M and looks for a reason to justify the purchase of the last generation. Yeah blabla... I have no clue, ... in the end if you would have the option to buy a new M5 you would do so and circlee through downtown. You know it.
I really like the new M5 design better than the F90. But do hope BMW M releases one with higher performance to complement this one with a larger battery focused on meeting govt emisson laws.(Im saving for it) Their engineers & designers know what they are doing and the market for the m340i,M3,M4 and X5M & X6M selling like crazy reflects that. Actual car buyers are talking with their wallets.

I agree, the design grew on me, just like with the M2 and that's coming from someone who's been driving Mercedes almost exclusively for the past decade because I didn't like where BMW's designs where heading...maybe this M5 wins me back. And in case anyone is wondering: No, I don't care about the additional weight. Why are people acting as if the M5 should be a lightweight track car? It's a mid tier luxury sedan, not a GT3 RS, so I couldn't care less if the car I drive on a daily basis in normal traffic weighs 2 or 2.5 tons, it doesn't make a difference to me. I'd much rather have the ability to drive a hybrid vehicle which I can charge for free at home with the solar panels on my garage, it only brings advantages in my daily life rather than disadvantages.

İ have a F90 M5 COMP, this m5 looks much better for me honestly i will def get it. People who are complaining will simp for this in coming years like e60 , its all the same since e46 :D

People cry about the weight as if the M5 is a competitor to the GT3 RS. People drive the M5 to their office job and pick up the kids from school and some groceries on the way home. They don’t go out there on a track day with their M5, so who cares about the weight? The Porsche Panamera Turbo S Hybrid is also heavy, but just like the M5, or the 4 door AMG GT63s E Performance people realize that it’s a performance sedan, not a track car, so everybody got used to the weight and doesn’t complain anymore.

I've always liked the look of the third to last one. It's also the one I drove that made me fall in love with BMW and prompted me to purchase a 2020 M550. If I was looking for a replacement, I'd definitely grab a 2024 M5; however, I'm looking for an X5MC as I need an SUV. The newest model is quite beautiful. Many, based on comments, seem like late adopters.

I actually like the look. It reminds me of the HSV sedans we use to have in Australia, almost v8 supercar in his staunch kit. It does sound quite muted and looks heavy. I'm not completely closing the door on the new M5!
I like how the initial 3 generations are perfect evolution from previous design. And the E60 pops out of nowhere completely ahead of its time. Then the F10 was another completely new design and flawless design and proportions. The F90 was a perfect evolution of the F10 with more aggression while the facelift was more elegant. Then this new model comes out of nowhere looking like an evolution of the E60. And unlike the others...theres no BMW design langauge left. The kidney grille has been killed off. So has the halo lights. So has the front bumper design. So has the L shape rear lights. And no more solid side/shoulder line
