- After Amber Heard stepped down from the stand, pre-recorded depositions of Heard's friends were played for the jury. The two witnesses, IO Tillet Wright and Rocky Pennington, testified on their knowledge of the fights between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp as her alleged abuser, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, it relied “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.
The defamation trial began Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, with jury selection completing on the same day. That's exactly what I was thinking, this case is about proving that he didn't assault her, that's it, AH and her lawyers keep on trying to push the story of Johnny being an addict and therefore being an abuser, which is not necessarily connected, being an addict doesn't mean that you definitely assault people, he has admitted to had been an addict so there's no point in this testimony.

I've learned some important things from this trial. Number 1: Be careful with freeloaders. Do not let them into your life; they're poison. Number 2: Protect your assets; have a prenup. 3. Investigate before you commit. You might be dealing with a charming psycho. 4. The first time s/he hit you, or gaslight you, leave immediately. Stop thinking that things will get better. It won't. It would only get worse.

I love how Heard’s lawyer calls it “Amber’s Penthouse.” HA!!!! You mean Johnny Depp’s Penthouses!!!! She did not own anything. And after watching the trial I feel like she is nuts enough to pull out her own hair and then blame it on Depp.

She had a high tolerance for alcohol because she drinks 2 bottles of good red a day, according to Ben King. And let's not forget the enabling. She had a glass of whiskey waiting for him each morning. And I believe the "too tidy" drug table was laid out for them by her too. The text to her friend about it sounded like she was bragging about their ability to afford that on a daily basis, rather than a sigh of despair like she tries to make it sound. He couldn't have gotten clean and sober if he'd wanted to.
So he met Amber and discovered that "she liked the same books, the same science topics", etc. Does anyone still remember Dr. Curry's testimony about Amber's BPD? That's what people with BPD do to make you like them and let them enter your life, they mirror you.

With BPD you are lacking a strong sense of identity. When she saw someone respond strongly to a topic, she said she liked it too. That person then felt they had a connection, and she felt like those interests were good because her favorite person (fp) liked it. She mirrors others because she doesn’t know her likes, dislikes, interests. Then when she reveals herself as an abuser, the person doesn’t realize until way later they were love bombed and that person (Depp) feels they did still have a strong connection. I would be interested to know what her childhood was like to make her have 2 personality disorders.
Another exempel of that is here were she seems to mirror JD, this is what Amber said about her first meeting with Johnny Depp:
“We talked about books and music, poetry, we liked a lot of the same stuff."
Or maybe all of them just likes the same books....😉 if so it sounds like AH, JD and IO should have had a bookclub in the penthouse at wednesday or so....

At the beginning of this, I kept wondering to myself, how does this woman have any friends at all..?? Now, as time goes on, I'm realizing that all these people who were her friends, aren't anymore. Well what I know is from my own personal life, is that when I went through a terribly hard time after experiencing a few people dying in my life and a lot of change, I became extra needy of my friends and they just drifted away from me. As soon as I was going through a hard time my closest friends seem to disappear with the exception of one or two. So it seems to me that because Amber was going through a really hard time, she's probably became very needy and they stepped away. None of them said they disliked her or that they didn't consider her a friend anymore, they said that they just didn't talk to her in a long time. So actually I put it on those friends as the type of people who aren't there for someone when they're going through a hard time but just there for them for the good times. Therefore I wouldn't consider them real friends. They used her for what they could get out of her. I truly hope that she keeps in therapy, becomes mentally healthier and forms new and much better friendships. Because the truth is, it's very hard to have a career in Hollywood and keep it if you're trouble and people don't like working with you. She did not have that kind of reputation, she worked all the time and not one producer, director or cast mate ever said anything bad about her.

Actually many abusers are a totally different person to the outside world. Often charismstic, outgoing, etc. I mean do you really think women fall for men or nen for women that are openly abusive from the start? No people who are abusive are often like two different people, and the manipulation and gaslighting keeps their partner confused and off balance. Nice, fun charming one day, then mean, and abusive the next, then apologetic and remorseful and sweet.

I think it says a lot that AH's "friends" don't have anything positive to say about her. All of Johnny's witnesses, friends or employees recounted JD's kindness and generosity. That is meaningful to me.

Kathryn I'm in my duties and I'll give you some words of wisdom. When you're young , friends are abundant however if you have a handful of good friends in your 40s you are blessed.
I’ll take few friends yet wealthy and famous over few friends, broke and a nobody. At least you have money and perhaps adulation. If you also have empathy you may also sense their adulation for you which is better than being ignored, worse being hated.
So, of I didn't get wrong (I'm Italian), he said he had NEVER seen JD attack or be violent with AH. However, he claims he often was in JD's company, even when he was on drugs and alcohol. He said JD was losing his sanity to the point of becoming paranoid. Thus, a man so clouded by drugs, to the point of losing his lucidity and becoming paranoid, manages to maintain the control necessary to hit his wife only in private. Certainly very difficult to persuade that such a thing could be credible.

My thoughts exactly! I somehow missed this part of her testimony live, and watching it tonight, I think it's ridiculous that she remembers some things in detail (like Amber's injuries), but doesn't seem to remember the simplest things that anyone would remember at all.

Cute how IO (and even Amber's sister) used the same exact keywords to describe both JD when sober and the beginning stages of the relationship. JD was "lovely, funny, incredibly kind" and the relationship was "magical" and they were "madly in love". They obviously went over what to say with Amber. Either that or their vocabulary is limited. I truly believe the reason none of her witnesses testified in person, isn’t because they aren’t “friends” with her anymore. It’s because they needed to be fed the answers by someone off camera and/or to read their scripts.
I grew up in an emotionally abusive and scary environment. As an adult, I did not repeat that behaviour. One has a choice on how to conduct one’s life.
100%. We are all responsible to take care of our own mental health, whether its therapy, medication. Dont take it out on others. Then they wonder why everyone runs away from them.
Actually it isn’t that simple or easy as making a choice. That concept “choice” is a trendy idea prevalent in Millennials. It is wired in your brain. Things trigger things differently than the same things for people who grew up in healthy environments. For instance some people associate love with fear, meaning when they feel love it genuinely scares them. This is different than having the general fear of being hurt or rejected everyone experiences. You are likely to find yourself recreating the family you grew up with through the friends and relationships you get involved with for the rest of your life. You magnetize the revolving players and frequently do not recognize what role the new faces are playing.

Didn't he invite them to stay? Eliminating the need for travel, less schedule conflicts. They explain how his privacy WAS (his lawsuit did a complete 360 to his privacy, now & forevermore) a priority, this helped immensely by bringing friends/family to you (her). I'm not saying it's creepy, however, this is absolutely a power play if you can afford it. I'm familiar with two families who purchased extra property around them for privacy reasons. Some claim privacy others say being paranoid, either way it's not a option if you don't have the finances. It's a investment for your peace of mind that you can sell, if needed.

One pattern is to extert control via isolation, but another pattern is to exert control via financial generosity that engenders dependence. For example, a husband who doesnt want his wife to leave home to work or see friends/ family may insist that he can support her & invite all her friends/ family to live with them. That's the scenario being described here, and while it doesn't automatically mean JD engaged in DV, it's consistent with others who do
Neither of these witnesses present any level of credibility, I found myself losing interest in anything they had to say. I don't feel that either of these depositions have helped Amber at all.

On the day Amber was being crossed examined, Amber only spoke about herself doing coke when she hit late teens, but once she married her wife, Tessa. Amber had stated Tessa made her quit doing coke. Amber also stated she never touched coke again, plus while she was on the stand she gave the credit to her ex-wife.
Amber is so diabolical. Just like that ice cream pic, in most of them, it was clear to see she had also staged that kitchen table with the coke to fit her false narrative.
Interesting that neither one is willing to do a live testimony! That is what Amber Heard needed at this point to revive her trial.
Io was live but yeah, Rocky was prerecorded. Regardless I don't think that's their decision. When someone's deposed, they're legally obligated to give their testimony how and when the court says.
All her witnesses from UK trial said they were harassed. Some said they received death threats and had to get help for safety. The walk out of the courthouse would be a horrible experience for them.

I found a 23 page witness statement that I.O. made in 2019 for the Sun trial. It had a lot of detail and lots of negative stuff about Johnny. Soon I realized that most of it was just information that came directly from Amber! Isn't that heresy? He is a hostile witness because Amber called I.O. on May 21st to tell him that Johnny accused him and her of pooping on the bed and Amber and I.O. were on speaker phone laughing at Johnny, which is what provoked the fight and why Johnny grabbed the phone from Amber. That is why I.O. is that one that called 911 from NYC. He wouldn't give his name though. I don't trust him.

Do you find it more reliable to trust the person that has 20+ witnesses backing their testimony or do you trust the one that only has 1-2 witnesses that also happen to be close friends?

My personal learnings with all this trial are th following:
1. Even you have a lot of money, and so many material possessions, if you do not know how to live, how to deal along with the person who you choose to share your personal life, you will not be happy at all.
2. People like Mrs. Amber Heard, who is movie start, having people running behind her just to get an autograph from her, or to touch her, making jobs contract with different big companies, and looking that she has a "perfect life", and the end of the day when all the movie cameras turn off, it is very surprising to know that she has a ruined life by her own mental problems.
3. Always pay attention to all the warnings that your children can give you about you new romantic partner. ( Lili-Rose, the Jhonny Depp's daughter told to her father that she dislike Mrs. Amber Heard, but he was falling in love for her, did not pay attention to what her daughter was saying to him.
JD's sister told him to slow down but he was so in love that he married amber even she did not sign the prenup.
At the same time AH was writing love notes to manipulate him, she was taking of him and gathering proof against him , so disgusting
