I agree 100% with the analysis at the end. The comeback of political extremism is the result of decades of mismanagement and economic stagnation from the political establishment of several democracies including the United States.
I'd also put much of the blame on the mass migration which has saw an sharp increase in crime not just in Italy but throughout Europe

We will always have economic turmoil, and it's common for people to get angry. But I think social media has to be important because of the global reach of the phenomenon. The right has risen everywhere.

They use this word like a slur or an insult. Due to internet, people now are aware of such tricks and do not believe it as much as they used to.

I’ve been to Europe and visited several countries during my trip. Italy is by far the best experience I’ve had. Good people, the culture, the family owned establishments. It is a great country.

I think fascism is now like nazi or communist where it is overused to a point where it has lost all meaning and now nobody knows what it means. The problem is as in most countries, although left leaning governments care about “social rights” they ruin the economy and often talk but don’t get things done. That’s why people end up voting for parties on the right because they get sick of it. Safety and economy are peoples number one issues, things like lgbtq rights etc are not so important to people when they are struggling to secure a job that pays well enough to survive. It’s just the truth unfortunately.
I mean why not just put the minorities in labor camps to make them work for us. Seems like common sense that way our stores and work places only have god fearing white men that read the bible on lunch hour. The way god intended it. And if th minorities start to rise up we can test new guns on them. Facism has always been gods will.

There is definitely a huge dissonance between the left-leaning elite and the average working citizen who mostly cares about economic and personal safety (neither of which is a concern for the elite, mind you). Yes and its a problem alot of lefties dont really seem to understand. Like protecting minority rights are important but just objectively from a political perspective running primarily on policies and voting for people whos priority is social policies that only effect at most like 20% of the population depending on the policy will eventually end in loss when your economic policy is eroding for a vast majority of the country. But center left parties will continue to run on harm reduction and maintaining the status quo as their platform until every country has pushed far right like its the 1930s again.

"I can't be racist cause I have a black friend" is ridiculed to create this ever-present suspicion that everyone can be racist despite never exhibiting any racist behaviour. It's a great political tool, a way to discredit ones opponents irrespective of anything they do, but based solely on who they are.

@@federicofornaciari4434 Yes but the reason I said it's a surface issue is that the economic issues are only issues symptomatic of the greater problem of globalization. I think we are at the climax of globalization, an experiment gone wrong which has mostly disadvantaged European countries. Hence why there is massive unemployment and such. People are starting to think (rightly so) that continuing on same path means further decline (economic and cultural) and even collapse.
