In my Imagination its Jeb: First succesfull duna-landing in the beginning of a playthrough, but the (very unrealistic) flight back to Kerbin was delayed some time into the future. Now, after vistiting even Dres, the Player builds his huge oribital Kerbol network, so its possible to assemble refueling outposts and the crew of the nearest comes to relieve Jeb from his longest Mission. No brainthirsty Zombies in my imaginary, always-happy, Disney-KSP
This reminds me of the time I was on a Tourist Mission going around the Kerbin System. I had realized I put too many Kerbals in my ship and I could only take a few back home. I had just enough space to have all my Tourists and Jebediah re-enter on a smaller craft that was connected, but I left about like 4 others float adrift in space inside the main section of the ship.
You've probably either forgotten about or deleted the save by now (maybe) but if you wanted to send them back you would only need to perform an orbital rendezvous (which, while tricky, isn't as expensive as a landing), and then have the Kerbals eva over to the new craft, which can then return them safely.
In my youth I once put a Kerbal on EVA on the Mun, it was 0.16 when they had just introduced that feature. Then, I turned up the time warp to max, and left my computer on overnight. I know that the Kerbal is just a few bits of code, and can hold no feeling or grudge against me... But sometimes at night I can still hear the distant screams of a Kerbal spending centuries in a space suit, frozen in place.
@@MarkTuchinsky bro, when I get an EAS alert of Kerbal invasion from the Kerbol system, I will stare you down in disappointment because of your neglect for Kurbane treatment. (not that I actually care about them, I mean there are quite a few of my kerbals that were grabbed by the Deap Space Kracken (DSK). One is in a Mk 2 cockpit that is [data:error] meters from the sun and no longer has physics applied to it. I have tried deep space missions to retrieve the kerbal, but I think he went out side of some sort of data limit and nothing will get beyond 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 meters before hitting an invis wall. Also, an entire base housing 34 kerbals is at the center of Moho, after observing an physics deformation event at the Moh whole).

Half of my science has come from just those 3 space stations! They're only just now beginning to run out of data, now I have a couple options, send another module up to attach new experiments to the stations, or send a module to each station capable of returning the crew. They all have probe cores too, so can still act as part of my satellite network.

Hello jack! Before I uploaded this animation, I was dedicated to this project full time. A couple of days after that, I got a job in the animation industry and everything has been slower since then. I couldn't spend the same time in this project as before. Though slower, I've been steadily working on a new video since then. Quality and runtime is much higher than previous releases, so that also added an extra delay. Plot twist: It was people coming for Jebs Late Night Party and he forgot the snacks and did not want to face the consequences of forgeting all of them so he tried to find other entertaining things inside at the last minute but he was too late and the guests were not happy so they went to Bob’s Party.
The detail in these shorts is absolutely mind blowing! You are doing a really good job and when the quality is this good, I don't mind the quantity to suffer a bit. :)
My kerbals: 6 of them left in a Mir-sized space station for 3 years; 3 elite kerbals who explored Duna, Mun, Minmus and Gilly; 96 of them died in a Boeing-747 crash 16 of them died in a Concorde crash 1 got stranded at the north pole for several days due to his plane running out of fuel

This animation shocked me for the first time. Whenever I see a Blender animation I can easily tell that it was made in Blender. But this was the first animation where I could not tell that it was made in Blender, it’s that polished. When I did find out, I was shocked. Keep up the amazing work!

this makes me feel bad for the kerbals that i put on mobile bases (i just put a mobile base on duna yesterday) even though, in my save’s canon, I hired them for the mission. They’ll be fine right? the base has everything they need, there’s like 5 of them, and it can drive (of course) so eh they’ll be fine
I remember one time I left a rag-dolled Kerbal on the Crawlerway for 7 years while I did missions, forgot about him, saw the icon in the tracking station and was like "wut?" and found him. Poor Elzer.
This makes me remember one time i landed on the Mun, went on EVA and place a flag. I returned to the lander (who had like 25% fuel from braking and slowing down to land sucessfully) I ascended onto the air but then my engine ran out of fuel. My lander re-landed on the mun (but my landing legs exploded but somehow still survived) I went back to the VAB and built a rescue rocket. 4 orbits around Kerbin until i could burn to go to the mun. I was slowing down my Mun rescuer to land on the Mun but i didint slow down enough and i crashed. 4 times trying and it didint work. I gave up quickly and now Chad Kerman is now stranded on the mun. RIP Chad Kerman, 2022-2022

I was sending a lander to Duna, but miscalculated the delta V required for landing and getting back, and didn't realized until the craft was halfway there. Aborted the Eve mission and instead built a rescue mission, so they will land, but abandon the ship and then the other one will pick them up
Actually it was less than 20 hours on a laptop with integrated GPU. I've managed to optimize the scenes to minimize render times. All rendered with Blender EEVEE
@@rolledtaco Motion Blur & Volumetric settings are two of the main reasons your render time will go up. Setting the motion blur to just 3 samples is enoug; some of the shots have motion blur completely disabled. Volumetric tile size at 4px for the external wide shots and at 8px for everything else. I bake indirect lighting with cubemaps I fake bounce lighting with proper area lights. Once everything is baked, I remove all the geometry that's not visible to the camera and voilá. 40 seconds to 1:30 minutes per frame. Remember that the postprocessing & compositing steps add much of the nice visuals after the render.
@@AnimatedK what do you do post processing in? Do you just disable it in render view on the right side? Also you did all this with intel integrated graphics?
I think Squad should add something like this to the first game as it is about to abandoned, in which I mean KSP2 is around the corner almost... So whenever someone comes back to KSP1 and have their outposts and what not they can witness the carnage they left behind
There's this, and then there's me who adopted the policy of "No Kerbal Left Behind" on day 1, and now have to somehow get Elzer Kerman out of a lander with obstructed hatches to a rescue rocket five kilometers away.
