Paying attention to HOW your child Learns is one of the best tools a parent has. My son was a tactile learner. He needed to DO things to thoroughly and quickly learn. He also strongly developed an internal self-motivation which meant less stress on the 'teachers' to get him to actually do the work. :) We LOVED homeschooling. I simply checked with my state, made sure we hit all the 'credits' they wanted for certain subjects and let him learn what he was interested in and had an aptitude for.

With respect, this is not what this proverb is teaching. It's saying exactly the OPPOSITE. In the original Hebrew, it essentially says that if you allow a child to go "according to his way" when he is old, he will be just as sinful and stubborn. In other words, you can't train him to do as he pleases. One must teach their child the ways of God because they aren't a child's natural inclination.

I took my kids out of public school over a year ago. I was so worried I would mess them up but I prayed and asked God to help me and he has been faithful to put people in my life who have been homeschooling their kids for a long time and people who can lead me to great resources. My kids had much higher scores on their state testing this year vs. last year when they hadn't been out of public school long. My 9th grader is post highschool in 3 subjects. My 4th grader is 12th grade on writing and 8th grade on reading. Homeschooling allows you to develop a better relationship with your children and they don't feel pressured so they are able to thrive! It's so beautiful.

That’s a lovely message. Her children are being given the best opportunity to succeed and to have happy well balanced and full lives, contributing and helping the community. So many adults have empty, dysfunctional, self centred lives because they didn’t have such a loving and nurturing mother when they were children. As a result those adults see here what they missed out on, and they make hurtful comments, but people know that hurting people hurt people, and people see straight through the hurters, and Jesus is calling the hurting people softly and tenderly too. And God is waiting for their response to his love, what Jesus did on the cross. The gospel is a mystery of many pearls.✝️

American society and laws are failing our families and youngsters so badly that there will hardly be any students remaining in the expensive and enviable buildings paid for across the USA for so many years. Christian people can no longer trust the schools at all in many places in this country. It's a terrible shame but there are plenty of alternatives to public school now. When I was a child and teen in public school, from late 1963 to mid 1976, my schools and teachers were all perfectly acceptable and focused on the appropriate materials. All children in the district could be entrusted to these schools and teachers without fear. I myself did end up homeschooling for a span of almost ten years, from late 1995 to spring 2005. I was afraid for both of my children for a few reasons, even though the district we lived in had long had a strong reputation. I found it emotionally difficult and decided to use Christian homeschool materials. It was definitely challenging but I did not regret it. No parent should have to be worried about their children at American schools. What is going on these days is utterly ridiculous, that so many parents are afraid and are being labeled negatively.

Taking it slow is key! Lots of homeschool moms of youtube have tons of curriculums and get sent free resources and it can look like we need them all. Start where your child is at. Do some research on the weekends or on your free-time, and find workbooks (heck I started off with dollar tree school workbooks and workbooks from 5 below! Some companies have everything in packages you can buy all at once. I suggest leaving those for a year or so after starting to homeschool, so that you know what will and won’t work for your individual children. The point of homeschooling is to not have to do a one size fits all, though it can be quite convenient. 😅 We want to benefit our kids with the best education for them. Sometimes that means piecemealing a make-shift curriculum little by little. That will be the most cost-effective overall. Take this from a mom who wants to get everything done all at once and had to learn the hard way by stressing out over if one child was learning enough, and another needing more lol. You won’t ruin your child’s education by making mistakes, and you won’t ruin their education by not having it all figured out at the start. Give yourself grace. ❤

@@alexwilliams4264 indoctrination is simply teaching worldview. Kids will learn it from somebody regardless.
Better they learn it from their parents. And I say that fully recognize that most parents don’t teach their kids what I believe, and I still stand by it.
That being said though, I wonder something. What is so bad about teaching children the faith and traditions of their families? Christianity is full of good virtues and doesn’t harm anyone to believe in it.
Let me ask you something else to ponder.
If God isn’t real, and Christianity is false, what have I lost at the end of my life? Nothing. I’ve simply been a person of moral character and integrity. I won’t have committed and crimes or harmed anyone in believing so.
But if Christianity is true, and from the many people I’ve spoken to no one has been able to prove it isn’t, then at the end of life a LOT of people will be in serious trouble.
So If I believe it’s true, and I do, I have my child’s eternity to consider. And that is more important than anything.
Food for thought. Because if I’m right, it affects you
Too. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole

Secondly Christianity might claim to be full of good virtues, but it is simply a promise of a reward if you believe and a threat of punishment if you don't. You say it's never been proven to be false but it has also never been proven to be fact. Just because people believe something doesn't mean it's real. Teaching your children that they are going to be rewarded for eternity if they believe this religion over another or not believing at all is akin to telling them to believe in fairies, leprechauns, unicorns etc. And just because people claim to be christians doesn't make them moral or virtuous, many people who don't believe in religion are morally good and virtuous.

    • @actmrhata5079
      @actmrhata5079 Год назад

      @@alexwilliams4264 that’s tackle your “firstly”.
You say I’m teaching my children falsehoods: and then you go on to say how Christianity also can’t be disproven.
So the idea of it being false is 100% opinion and not fact:
Secondly no. I was a sophomore in college when I became a Christian. My husband was 22 when he became a Christian, and before that he was a raging atheist probably much more than yourself.
I believe in it for many reasons.
1- I called out to God and He answered me. And has been faithful every day.
2- it makes a whole lot more sense than the fairytale YOU believe- which I’m guessing you believe because you were taught that in school.
3- the scientific, historical, and archaeological evidence FOR the Bible is overwhelming and continues to grow.
4- Christianity has answers for all of the questions that atheists cannot answer, and neither can any other religion.
5- the more I study, the more I realize it could not have been done by man.
, you have no understanding of Christianity. This isn’t about reward and punishment.
Just because those are factors, doesn’t make them the point. That’s a logical fallacy on your part. Again.
The point in Christianity is the love of Christ and His grace poured out on us.
It’s the fact that He paid for our sins so you don’t HAVE to go to hell. That is the reward. Anything else is extra icing on the cake.
This isn’t a works based religion. In fact, it’s the ONLY one that isn’t works based.
Listen, here’s the thing you need to think about. And that’s what I’m trying to get you to do. Actually think. Logic is your friend.
Just because you don’t like the idea of God, or because you’ve been indoctrinated to believe He DOESNT exist, doesn’t actually make it true.
      Your beliefs don’t change reality.
Just because you don’t like hell, doesn’t mean it’s not real.
And since you can’t prove it’s not real, you’re literally just picking what you’d like to believe. Which is fine. That’s your choice, but to be honest it take a lot more faith (or ignoring evidence) to believe what you do than to believe what I do.
When I became a Christian in college I finished what I was doing and went to school to study the Bible.
I hold my degrees in biblical study and theology, and now I specialize in apologetics, which means I study the evidence against the Bible and the evidence for the Bible.
And I’d ask you to give me some evidence AGAINST the existence of God. Or some compelling evidence for Big Bang or evolution. And you’re free to try.
But you won’t be able to do it.
And that’s my main point. You throw around terms like fairytale (which I used to make a point here) but you really have no basis for that, except that you don’t believe it.
Nvm the archeological evidence for the kings of the Bible, for the flood, for the parting of the Red Sea and drowning of Pharaohs army. Nvm that the life of Jesus isn’t even disputed amongst atheists. Only his deity.
      Nvm the eyewitnesses.
Nvm the biological evidence for the creation AND fall of mankind.
Nvm the astronomical evidence In Gods favor in the creation of the universe. (Basically allOf it)
In fact I just finished a quantum physics class a few weeks ago that dealt with evidence for God on creation.
Nvm prophecy- which is HUGELY important. Because the prophecies in the Bible are numerous, specific, and 100% accurate every single time. Go ahead and add that to my list of why I believe.
And probably that’s a whole genre of evidence you’ve never even looked into. Not possible that humans could do that. Humans have about a 60% accuracy rate with prophecy IF they keep it really vague and don’t reach to far out into the future.
That’s not what we see in the Bible.
The Bible literally laid out the genealogy of king David IN ORDER in genesis. Which was WAAAY older that Samuel. In case you’re wondering. No way Moses could have done that on his own. And the copies we have predate the time of David. So no, it wasn’t done later.
We also have the passing down of the scriptures verbally to verify.
Nvm human pattern and behavior that mimics exactly what God says.
Nvm the testimony of believers lives.
The fact that we used to be completely different people. And now we have a completely new heart, and worldview.
Nvm the fact that we are literally willing to die for what we believe, and we are, everyday. #1 most persecuted people in the world.
Nvm that Christians have historically lead the way in the fields of science, math, physics, astronomy, art, music, literature.
      Let’s flip it.
Nvm that your own atheist say what you
Believe is impossible, implausible at best.
Nvm Richard Darwin’s regret of introducing evolution because HE didn’t even believe it at the end.
Nvm the crying and screaming of atheists against a faith that they CANT disprove, but that only gathers more evidence for itself as time goes on.
My point is, if you took the time to read all of that, that you poke fun and call names. You say it’s a fairytale, and yet you’re so blind to your own point of view.
You don’t realize how ridiculous your own beliefs are.
And they have no EVIDENCE!!! That’s the craziest part! You call Christians anti- science which is quantifiably false, and yet you can’t scientifically defend your own beliefs. And I’m not even talking about proof! I’m just saying give me some compelling evidence. But you can’t.
Just so long as it doesn’t involve God through right? You’ll believe anything. You’ll turn the blind eye. Just as long as the answer isn’t God.
You said you think I believe because of my upbringing and that I’m just hedging my bets, and you couldn’t be more wrong.
I’m just using my brain friend.

I home schooled four out of my 5 daughters. They've all graduated from college now and married, working, and enjoying their lives.
. Best thing is they love the Lord and each has a personal relationship with Jesus and walking with the Lord, which was our primary reason for doing so. GOD was with us every step of the way and we were blessed. Today they're establishing their homes and lives in Him. Pray that it's God's will for you to do so for sure. Is that what He wants for you and your family? God's plans may be different for your family for reasons only He knows according to his sovereign will and purpose. Do not do it just because you're afraid of secular schooling, though you have lots of reasons today to be afraid and very concerned. But whatever He chooses for you and yours it will always be his best will for you. And will be with you and your family. So seek God's will so you can be assured always you and your kids are where he wants you to be. And when you feel like giving up or overwhelmed or doubting, remembering it's his will for you will strengthen and empower you, to continue, in his will; there's no turning back once you put your hand to that plow. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. His Holy Spirit is by your side. Remember he is your Counselor and your comforter, your helper. So go Mom!

Also, consider the missed opportunities for socialization, team building, working with others, limited exposure to dissenting views, lack of practice in reasoning and critical thinking, what subjects you are qualified to teach, and the profit motive of the homeschool industry.

Not sure why people who don't homeschool always default to the "social skills" argument. It's a straw man - these kids aren't being held in a basement somewhere. My kids took parts in all kinds of activities that had them engaging with other kids in sports, academics, etc. They went on field trips with other homeschooled kids, played on softball, soccer, and basketball teams, were involved in classroom activities in group classes with other homeschooled kids, and had many friends. The social skills they missed out on were things like cliques, bullying, and learning social interaction from a bunch of other kids who were also learning it.

When we started homeschooling our three now adult kids back in 2004, they had already been attending a wonderful Christian school. I never dreamed I'd be needing to homeschool them, but we parents do need to be responsive to our kids' needs. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. They had lots of social activities with friends and co-op/tutor academy types of support too. I jumped in on co-op boards, taught after school science explorer classes in three public school districts When are youngest was in 10th grade and about to begin his junior year doing PSEO/college courses in high school. I have lots of curriculum because what might work best for one type of learner might not be ideal for your other. God provides and grows us in the process, and we can be encouragers to others, too. I thought I'd be a Middle School teacher when in college and I guess I ended up doing that and more... just without an income! 🤔 I wished there was another way cuz re-entering the workforce was not as straightforward as I'd hoped.
