    I would love to see a video about style types/ genres and examples from actual brands. Also, I would like to see how the different styles could be translated onto different body types and across different age groups. For example boho style on a 20 year old will probably be interpreted quite differently than on a 40 year old. I don't think styles should be for only certain age groups or body types ( generally speaking) . However when I look at Pinterest or even store/ brand websites all the styles and models look so young and tall and skinny ( not a lot of curves or weight in problem areas. It would just be more inspiring and helpful to see styles on more of a variety of women. Not sure how you could do that especially now but I just thought I'd throw it out there. I feel like there is such a gap in clothing brands and 'styles'. I am a young looking 50 year old. I can't wear the vast majority of sizes and cuts and styles due to 'problem areas' and most clothes are made for the target group of 18- 25 years old. And yet I do not want to wear old lady clothes either. It's very tricky to find clothes that work style and fit wise.

      Sarah Thatcher Absolutely! I have a few videos that I am working on that I think will touch on this but if there is anything specific you want to see just let me know! Personal styling and creating capsule wardrobes for people is what I love to do. ❤️

    This was a really helpful video Emma. I watched it the day you uploaded it, then yesterday I went through my wardrobe and really looked at the contents. I've just rewatched this video to check I'd followed your steps correctly!!! In normal circumstances I wear a uniform 4 days a week for work. So my wardrobe only has to work for those other 3 days per week. I think I've realised my style is "smart casual" mainly jeans, button down shirts (rather than sweatshirts), sweaters, blazers, and smart jackets or coats. I have noticed that I prefer bright colours rather than neutrals. I love thrifting as a way to experiment with different looks without spending a fortune, and I've found some great quality pieces that I just wouldn't be able to afford new. Thank you Emma 💕💕💕

    I love primarily shopping second hand. It lets me try something out without much investment. If a certain style or piece doesn’t work out for me it’s not much of a loss and then I can just resell it on Poshmark. After years of thinking that I was Zooey Deschanel I came to the conclusion that I am a jeans and a t shirt, sweater, or button up type of girl. I loved the other clothes but I never wore them.

      @DaisyGalStyling  4 года назад +1

      faeriesmak Thank you for sharing! I think that happens to a lot of people. It is great to take inspiration from others but you really need to figure out what works for you. You can still incorporate some fun colors and patterns into your wardrobe like Zoey but still keep with the pieces that you love. Adding a polka dot blouse or a fun yellow sweater to pair with jeans.

    Shopping second hand is the best way to experiment! I would love to try Everlane to see if the brand is worth the hype, as basics are concerned. There are some pieces on Poshmark I have been eyeballing that are around $15. Sooo.... I think I just might go ahead and purchase at least one item. ;-)

      Michelle Colgan I’m all about promoting second hand! I’ve been loving ThredUp and Poshmark since I can’t go thrifting right now. I haven’t tried Everlane yet but I actually purchased a few things from their recent sale that I waiting for in the mail. I’m curious about the hype as well 😏

    Hi Emma
    I’m trying to work out my style. My life has completely changed due to an accident I had in January as I was hit by a car crossing the road home from work. So my shape has changed, my outlook & I want my style to reflect that. Currently I’m still in hospital & I’ll start with a Pinterest board.
    Thank you

    Buying second hand is also a way to go for me. I usually buy clothes online (or sometimes meet in person with the seller) at affordable, but not super cheap prices, which keeps me from buying too much stuff.

    • @DaisyGalStyling
      @DaisyGalStyling  4 года назад +1

      milivanilili I am always about quality over quantity! I buy most of my clothes from a resale store which means I am spending a little more but I am getting better brands and better quality pieces.

      The boho video was very helpful, it came so clear to me that I love the boho as blouses, dresses, kimonos and skirts but not so mush in pants and accessories. I kind of knew the style but not the name for it. It was great to connect the dots :)

    Loving all your videos. You explain so well. Currently following your advice re a pinterest board, but when checking out what I love to wear ( that I already own ) the only commonality is comfort! What style does this fit into 😆

    • @DaisyGalStyling
      @DaisyGalStyling  4 года назад

      Nothing wrong with comfort! I am all about it! There are definitely ways to make whatever style you love comfortable. What does a typical outfit look like for you?

    • @blueoctopus6
      @blueoctopus6 4 года назад

      wide leg pants, in linen in summer , heavy knit in winter, with a close fitted breton or wrap top . a-line skirt with tights and flat boots in winter, loose fitting dress with flat sandals in summer. Shoes always flat! I found when I pulled fave items from my wardrobe that the texture of the fabrics and comfort was my first consideration.

    Hi Emma, would you do a video about thrifting during COVID? I don’t know if folks feel safe to shop second hand right now. I shop for clothes strictly online and tend to buy too much hoping that I would like some items in person. Then I end up with pieces I like and pieces I don’t like or don’t fit, but don’t want to deal with returns. I miss being able to touch and feel the fabrics prior to purchasing.

    • @DaisyGalStyling
      @DaisyGalStyling  4 года назад

      That is actually a great idea! Just shopping during this time in general. I rarely buy things online and I have recently gotten a few things online because thrift stores have been closed. Having to return things can be annoying and the shipping time has been super frustrating! I haven’t gone thrifting much because I am really trying to stay home but I think that would be something interesting to talk about.

    i keep hearing buy second hand. My issue. All I find "second hand' are the same fast fashion brands that I'm ditching from my own wardrobe.

    • @DaisyGalStyling
      @DaisyGalStyling  3 года назад

      You have to do whatever works for you! I like shopping second hand because even though those items might be from fast fashion brands, those items are already created and would be thrown away otherwise. And it makes fashion affordable for me as a young person with not a lot of extra income. Style is such a personal thing and you should do whatever feels right for you!

    What if the style you love dies not go with your figure nor your Age...

    • @DaisyGalStyling
      @DaisyGalStyling  4 года назад +1

      Great question! I think there is a balance. #1 you should wear the things that you love and make you feel your best. Trends come and go which is why I think having great staple pieces is important. Then you can add or takeaway trends as things change. But don’t worry about being “on trend” if you don’t like those styles. #2 there are trends and styles that I love but I know just don’t work for my body type. I’m not going to buy them because I know I won’t wear them if they don’t work for me so I find ways to incorporate the styles I love but still find pieces that fit my body type. I am wanting to do a Q/A video soon so I can definitely talk about this more 🤗
