For any guitarists who, like me, at some point picked up a bass and was like 'why didn't anybody tell me this was so fun?', the absolute hardest songs are going to be the ones with iconic guitar/melody (like Hotel California), and probably the best practice to learn what space the bass should take up and not just what noodly riffs you can play once you get used to the chonky strings.
I officially started hating my guitar after I started bass. Although, it was mostly because the guitar couldn't hold tune, so it was hard to learn on it.

Fortunately it was a kudos to me for knowing it being a bassist..however unfortunate because no one else could join in. But at the end of the day..the birthday girl felt special and had a good time. Personally I learn all kinda little jingles and songs on the bass. Pink Panther, Star spangled banner with distortion and embellishments.. absolutely fun. Jaws, Stars Wars, Holiday themes..really just anything catchy that's fun and people would recognize. You'll be surprised when those little do-dats or whatever come into play. Especially while interacting with the crowd.

I have been a hobby bass player for the better part of 15 years and this video made me realize how much funk and soul made me a bass player from childhood.
Not saying these were bad choices, but when I think bass, one group that immediately comes to mind is The Offspring. Their bassist is drastically underrated because his bass lines tend to be of a very simplistic nature, or seem to be so I’d like to hear someone say the bass line for “Hit That” is easy to play, among others
I've played bass since I was 13 years old. I didn't really get the feel for guitar. My dad gave me his old Fender Stratocaster. I got an old used 4-string bass, but it fell down the wall 2 years ago so I saved up enough money for about half a year to buy an ESP LTD Viper-104. Then I also got a used ESP LTD F-414FM. It looks amazing. I doesn't have to be brand new for me to like it. Look at my car for example. It'a a 1998 Volvo V70 2.5T. I bought it for 2000SEK (That's about 230USD) and all I had to do was change the rear brake kit, crank case ventilation and the battery and now it's almost like it's brand new.
