A huge problem for users is duplicate photos. It is not ideal but okay to store duplicates, but a user only wants to see one copy when going through memories. Does Bee help with this?

We took Synology DSM and cut everything out of it, but left it: QuickConnect, Drive and Photos. Slightly renamed and built-in a non-replaceable SSD drive on 4T.
All these years Synology has struggled with security and fault tolerance, said how important it is to make backups and now they have renounced it all. It's clear now where the wind is blowing.

Apart from some apparently useful software for syncing and so forth, this doesn't seem very different to my Synology NAS, my external WD HDD drives, or the various SSDs in enclosures that I use for local backup and storage. I use SyncBackPro, which covers pretty much most requirements for handling data, between local devices and clouds, with one major exception, which is that although it works with Android and MacOS, there isn't any version for iPad OS or iOS. If iOS to storage in a simple (?) way is needed, then I guess BeeStation may be the way to go.

    And Steve Baker
Technical Support Engineer write me about my problem that
We are sorry to hear that your DS218 has to be reset. This is likely caused by an issue in the DSM operating-system.
We understand that you are worried about losing your data. Please rest assured, your data should not be affected by the reset as the OS and data are stored in separate partitions on the drives. When re-installing the OS, the system should normally not touch the data-partitions of your drives.
I beleived and i did what he said now all my data erased omg i shocked after sir Steve Baker dissepeared i am alone there is nothing in my hands
Synology is regret bad nas choose qnap there isnt good support for problemss !!!

    • @insomnia521

this is a new money stream targeting less pro consumers, a lot of them are excited about this. For a price point, it is worth well to discard other data storage subscription services. This can be huge for Synology but not good for prosumers as it will distract the focus on the NAS line products, unless they now hire more people to maintain both lines.

Synology has stooped to the level of Western Digital instead of solving the problem of existing NAS e.g. the inability to use other brands' drives in M2 slots as storage and just use Synology's overpriced and slow solution, outdated and already slow for today integrated 1Gbit LAN connectors, slow first generation USB 3 and old processors over 5 years old in new devices. Yet the competition is miles away (QNAP, upcoming NAS Ugreen, sometimes even ASUStor). Yes, you can get around it with various github hacks or a network card to USB, but why do that when the competition is cheaper and more up with the times. The bonus of an HDMI connector, SD card reader, Synology can only dream of. BeeStation lame stations are a step backwards, the company hasn't kept up with the times and missed the train.

    • @UxJoy

You are not the target audience for this lol.
If you have old parents at home who like watching family videos and pictures regularly. Setting up a local nas for them to access can be painful. This works well for them.
It also works well for people who are not into tech at all. But just need an easy access storage solution without paying massive subscription fees for it.
Should synology update their compatibility and quality of their drives - sure.
But simplicity is sometimes more important depending on the target audience.

    • @AABB-oi7hv
      @AABB-oi7hv 2 месяца назад

@@UxJoy That's nonsense. Old parents are happy to have a push-button phone and don't need such nonsense to live. And non-tech people either don't care about such a thing and use external drive or find a knowledgable person to advice them of far better options...
Have people become so stupid that they need to simplify the simple? I wonder how the first computers started?
