I laughed a bit too hard when the wife decided to climb out the window instead of using the perfectly good door nearby.
Because shes contrary lol
...and drinking from the pitcher instead of the cup.
So let me see... a husband trying to kill his wife, a guy making a deal with the devil, two women possessed, the guy cheating on his first wife with her sister.... Quite a dark folk tale this one came to be.
@TheParakiss2 The man obviously had gotten tired of having to make his requests backwards. I know I would do the same thing in his shoes.
@TheParakiss2 I don't think so because of the first part of the story, he only asked backward in the middle part of the story.
@TheParakiss2 if she is always contrary, and she married him, doesn't that mean he told her first he didn't want to marry her? He didn't find the workaround until later.
"Don't bring me roast chicken". Then brought roast chicken. Contrary wife is not hard to follow. Just make it appear that you dislike everything you Like.
Contrary people are people too. We need to respect there life choices and be willing to adapt to them like any one else.... CONTRARY LIVES MATTER!
THE STATUE COMMITTED SUICIDE!!!😂😭
The Tallest Chick Here Hungarian bridges make beings feel this way 🤣
The contrary wife is a legend. I too wanna be the kind of woman where, when my feet hit the floor in the morning, the devil says "oh shit, she's up"
I love that the soldier was just so chill about helping a random devil
Mira Violet so you satan? yeah whatever gimme that cash money
He did promise to make him king
major inconsistency.
the devil told the woman to get on his back and she did.
She probably just wanted to get out real bad
It suited her to listen then😂
Nani
O-O not 100% contrary
She is chaotic evil and just wanted to mess with someone.
> possesed by the devil
> twerking in the bed
...YES
THIS IS INDEED A POSSESSION!
Omg were do you people get your sense of humor from. This cracked me up🤣🤣
🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
i Cracked up a bit when the devil got scared and fled because he thought the woman was coming
Well, I now knew of another person that could scare devils. The first one had his name mounted in the Hagia Sophia.
The country wife is officially the most relatable character in folklore.
Why does the devil come out their crotch like what???
you know it boiiii
"Jump out, Devil, because I want to take her"... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Also, notice how the Hussar lustily rubs his hands.
Hahahaha.
I guess thats the only way he can get in...... Lol.
Or the way he wants to get in.
How else should a devil possess a princess? ;) Seems fitting to me.
in hungarian it' says like: come out devil cuz i want to go in her. and she get the princesses.. so now you know why
Long story short:
Husband: wife of mine, don't go near the pit
(Goes near pit)
Husband: wife of mine, don't
(Falls in pit)
Husband: *_G O T T E M_*
😂
I died at the "Ha-HEYYYYY!" 😂
Dangggg he got two wives now
And two mothers-in-law as a gift. :D :D :D
@@acla9000 The way he slide away while his wife was not paying attention, it seems more like he got a wife, a side girl and one mother in law because they wife and the honey are sisters! :O
Alejandra Garcia ha ha ha, very well imagined! :D
holla at a player
He has 2 wives.... not a good moral
Husband: don't jump in that hole
Contrary wife: YEET
wow, can’t believe that they animated the devil eating out two girls
love that
I heard a song version of this tale called "The Scolding Wife". The devil still sent her back because of all of the damage she caused in Hell.
You know, those girls seemed to be having a lot of "fun" being possessed by the devil. I mean he did fly out of both girls's...ehem....you know. ; )
And that's not getting into where the devil exits from.
First contradiction was when the devil told the woman "Get into my back and I will take you out", then she *shouldn't* have done it. Yet she only became contrary once they were out.
Oh yes, I never noticed that!
Proof that she's just spiteful rather than compulsively contrarian
There's a version by János Arany, a famous poet in the 19th century, in which the husband regrets luring his wife into the pit so he wants to pull her out but pulls a devil instead. Then, he's the one who makes the same deal with the devil, and things turn just the same as in this one, but after the man gets old and dies, he falls into hell and has to be with his contrary wife...
😂😂😂
Yes! I have seen an animated version of it. I think it was a French cartoon called "Les contes de la rue Broca”
Moral: there are so many dumb people, just be smart.
Quite a lot of quick upskirts in this one
The instant smile on the man's face when the wife fell into the pit 😂😂😂
If he already knew how to deal with her, he didn't need to get rid of her on the pit. Bad husband. Don't marry someone if you can't love her until death do you part
@@marques5199 oh please, as if people married for love in those days
Where the devil came out of...
From her hooha.
Punani and greed control the world.
Ikr 😂😂
Well, where else did you expect? Her ear? Too much stuffing there.
If you hear the hungarian version😂
The moral of the story is: Stuffed Chicken and Pancakes are the most appropriate food to eat when working the fields.
Farmer: Wife of mine take care do not fall ino the pit
Wife: **Head dives into the pit**
😂😂😂
Lesson learned. When encountered a devil, tell it that woman is coming. Then it will disappear faster than your eye can see. XD
I know these are very old comments, but for all those saying that the soldier got on with his wife's sister: It's a translation error. The original Hungarian narration says that the devil had possessed another princess. But it's never said that they are sisters.
Women possessed seem to have more fun than any other character in this series.
haha so true ^__^
Also, the first bride didn't look very happy
In regards to exercising the Devil from these ladies: This story took the term "fire crotch" to a whole new level!
Aurelia Astrea exorcising 😂😂😂
BAAAA HA HA HA HA
I see that not even the devil can stand a contrary woman ! :D :D :D
When that statue on the bridge began to do the sign of the cross when the demon got out to meet the soldier, I instantly lost it.
2:01 Thats a face of a man who just murdered his wife 😂😂
5:03 Some random guy jumping in and out of the window repeatedly XD
haha it's a forward and reverse looping animation. It's funny you noticed that.
😂😂😂😂😂
He's probably gets thrown out.
Funny story! The woman was a royal pain from what I see. Love how the Soldier/King got rid of the devil. The only difference between the wife and Amelia Bedilia is that Amelia took instructions literally and things always turned out good in the end in the Amelia Bedilia stories. This wife was so bad that even the devil was terrified of her.
I kinda want to put Amelia Bedelia and the contrary wife in a cage match
I feel sad for the contrary wife that his husband tried to kill him. Shes still a good wife who still do the duties of a real wife but with a challenge. She do not deserve such treatment.
Felippa Mallchic she kind of did though :/
@@elle4698 nuh she dont better divorce her though.
Felippa Mallchic no like I get you but she was kinda of Bish
@@elle4698 I kinda get u as well your your kinda ecaggerated on she deservefor being a bish
Felippa Mallchic I meant like she deserved a less extreme punishment
The only time the wife was not contrary was when that demon asked her to get on his back.
The first story where literally everyone is bad, still an interesting story though
The moral of the story: Always be submissive to your husband and make deals with the devil if you want to be successful.
If this was an arranged marriage, I think that she wasn't happy with the choice her parents made. Also, she was an obnoxious spoiled girl when she was younger. Whose parents would let their daughter act that way her whole life?
The ending gave the impression that the former soldier was now going to marry the other daughter too. Were Hungarians allowed more than one wife in those days? I know a lot of cultures have practiced poligyiny at one time or another.
I love the way he got rid of the devil in the end! ;-)
In the depicted era he could only have one official wife. There could be poligyiny before AD 1000, but then cultural changes happened and monogamy was the new rule.
No, these tales are stupid, and I'm pretty sure they were written recently, apparently by some weirdo.
That's sick . I would be totally upset if my husband wanted my sister , it would have to be her or I , NOT the both of us !!!
But they didn’t get to choose their husband, so maybe they didn’t care.
6:19 lol.. from where does he intend to remove the devil🙄😈
How creative Hungarian people are...
was the devil possessing the princesses via their vajeens??? 😦
Right that was so weird to watch I felt uncomfortable 💀
Reminds me of Evil dead
The princess was having a spazzam LMAO
Looked like she was being mercilessly tickled from the inside
@@ladygotham3147 or is it ghosts tickling her??
@@whereisspacekey That's 1 possible interpretation; I just think, based on the context of the situation, that the devil is the more likely culprit. That's just my opinion.
Spasm
Who else is reminded of Amelia Bedelia? Anyone?
Wait! Do you mean that maid from the children's storybooks?! Lol! I used to read those to a lady in the hospital when I worked as a health care aside! So wonderful!
@@DoReMi123acb That's the one I'm talking about ;)
I was reminded of Kippie the Cow.
@@abbieb8130 What's that?
@@LilDemona It's a children's story with Danish origins. About a cow who was taken to the city to be sold but only did what she was told not to do.
Are we not going to talk about the first husband who tried to kill his wife by abandoning her in a pit?
"The man left his wife in the pit, and went home for his supper" Yeah..hope he knows how to make his supper, his wife isnt there
I listen to these to help me sleep at night thank you for posting them on here I really appreciate it
You too huh? 😌
It's like the devil has all notifs on for any mentions of his name😂😂😂
How these two people got married is beyond me. 🤷
fyi in the original title it isn't "contrary" wife, but "székely" (transylvanian) wife :D i guess it makes more sense to english speakers but it's really funny
I like the idea that the devil is afraid of contrarians
These tales always leave me with a smile and just feeling happier in general ☺🤗
That poor old lady, Who's brain backwards...
This had to be the strangest folk tale yet, it was hilarious xD
The guy ended up with two wives in the end, and they were sisters. Either lucky, or cursed.
He just straight up made her yeet herself into the pit and his smile when she falls is🤣🤣🤣🤣
See, the Devil is very generous. He's just misunderstood.
The possessed princess was having fun😂
'get off my back woman!'
The devil in her doodah!
Who was the real devil here
Women
The husband
nabila noor yeah
The prince. He's a hero, sure, but he's a little cheater..
Literally everyone in this story. XD
I guess the first princess was Di and the second was Camilla? As Mel Brooks said, "It's good to be king!"
I've been watching a few of these tales and something tells me they are not especially meant for children... 🥴
The part about devil posessing the princess is similar to a story from Indian folk tales called the Pancha Tantra.
1:51 she really said "bet"
I love what the bridge statue does XD
.....How have I never realized until now that the birds are literally vomiting branches
the protagonist changed multiple times lmaoo
I swear that wife should take up work as a demon hunter
This is the kind of shit I need. Simple and nothing excessive.
What I've learnt that confuses me most about the wonderful Hungarian tales this awesome channel brings: the devils.
Seems like these poor sods must be bored out of their minds, at the drop of a hat they show up just because of mentioning them.
It's funny that the devil here showed up just wanting to be thanked by the wife for getting her out of the pit and didn't even get that.
Haha the devil looks like Big Nose from Pink Panther
Seems like devil's likes the kings daughter
In Slovakia we call this tale "Čert a Káča" (The Devil and Kate)
Some women love a naughty devil.x
The contrary wife certainly did. She seemed to have the time of her life on that devil's back.
This story left my eyes close and open fast.
That statue. Omg. 👌☺️
So he just left the first girl after “taking her.”
And the husband attempted to kill his wife!! Horrible men!!
ExCuSe Me WhAt ThE fRiCk
The way the devil ran when he thought that woman was coming back XD I hope that man learned to treasure her, she can make a devil scared of her.
Once upon a time there lived a woman who moonwalked!
The Moral is Obvious: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned~
Also: 6:16
Love this old timey animation
2:01 it flashed back to the frame with the chicken and pancakes
💞🤣🤭💥
Loved the music 🎶
It jumped from one persons point of view to another and did anyone else see where the devil jumped out of and I wonder what the wife said when she went home to her husband “why did you leave me in that whole?”
The statue praying when he he sees the devil lmaooo
Funny Hungarian version of the exorcist lol
Dat posession tho
There was a stunning lack of blondes getting happy endings this time around. Also, good thing he had the words to say that way he didn’t have to pull a Bob Ross and beat the devil out of them.
I used to watch these back in 2018❤️ I'm glad I grew up watching these
The intro music is so relaxing
How to scare off the devil according to the hungarian folks:- tell hil that that woman is coming
*Please upload*more stories... we all love them... And you learn from them too.. pleasee ..
Hilarious!!! This is my favorite story yet.
How do you run forever and a day lol
the Contrary Wife sounds like the ultimate prankster..... and sounds like me.
WHat's with the hungarian with the devil though. but all tales are actually fun to hear
Has anyone wondered about what is the message of this story?
For short, the message is that don't obssess over anyone else. Do not find your self-worth in other people, even if it is your partner or family. This story is symbolically pointing to codependency and how it works.
Life pro tip: be so contrary that even the devil will want to leave you alone
