That definitely sounds louder than mine. I effing love mine. Best thing I’ve ever spent money on, absolutely zero regrets. Your sons comments are definitely strange, like I’ve never heard anyone react like that to the KSL
Thanks for sharing. Everyone has a different reaction to everything. That is what makes life interesting. He was honest. You are honest. We all want different things from life.
Not really a review, but this is the first video I've seen that really gives you a good sense of what it is like to ride one of these beasts. I'm pretty old (60+) but so far am still able to do the climbs I like to do. I've always been slow, now I'm probably a bit slower. I'm getting close to wanting/needing an ebike, the kenevo is probably more downhill oriented than I need for my riding which is more xc/all mtn.
Personally, I am against e-bikes in general. Lazy riders do it to not get in shape. Fit rider do it to go way too fast (and endanger others). However, I do think it fits three categories. One, are park riders with out a lift. Two, injured or handicap riders. Three, older riders who need assistance to make it up the hill. Sounds like you are moving towards 3. My advice, keep riding unassisted for as long as you can (to be fit). Then go e-bike when you can't make it anymore, but want to keep riding.
Bill, I hear you. I'm also 53. Love climbing the mountain on my own steam. Built up enough strength to stay ahead of most riders on the climb. Love the exercise and fitness. It's my number one reason for riding. BUT ... I see a day ... far off on the horizon ... when I might need some help getting to the top. Watching and listening to other riders, I think that might be 10-20 years away. : )
I think they’re great for climbing to get laps in at a downhill park, or for people who wouldn’t / couldn’t otherwise ride. Me personally I hope I’m 40+ years from needing one 😂 (Unless I move by awesome downhills that require a LOT of climbing)
@@equalopportunityguns agree with you. I love the exercise from mountain biking and worry about the e-bike going too fast up - or down (extra weight and breaking). Fear a e-biker hurts a walker - and all MTBer kicked off trails. Hope I'm just being paranoid.
I've ridden bikes, motor and pedal in the woods for over 50 years. I find riding my e mountain bikes I tend to go slower downhill. On my pedal mtb's I would go very fast downhill, and crawl up the climbs. On the e mtb I tend to go a steady moderate speed regardless of climbing or descending. The flats are about the same speed e or not.
Ha ha , I agree with your son, this bike is not fun on trails like this, bring it to the proper mountain :) I guess the whole idea of motor here is to use it as a lift for more loops of downhill. Its probably not for a XC style of riding, they have Levo SL for this :)
It was loud. Whining. Sure battery pack is not cheap. While at the festival, at vendor booths, twice an ebike came in and the rider said: "ran the battery out ... no juice left". Event started at 8:00 and that was by late morning. Also, this bike had a spare battery in the bottle cage when they brought it out at 8:00 am. They removed it. I asked if it was needed. Mechanic said by mid-day. Of course, this is a very small battery pack and much lighter than most e-bikes. I'll also say that LOTS of riders were on e-bikes (more than I've seen before) and the e-bikes were the first to be taken each day (from my observation).

Thanks Sean
I was really close to investing in this bike - I’ll stay with my Stromer sT 2 ebike 👍🏿
Big purchase decision and commitment.
I haven’t ridden an e-bike before but I’m sure I would love it! Probably get an e-bike for my next bike
Ride a demo e-bike first. Kind of a love hate thing ... as this video shows.
At 53 yo I am still using my own power but assume in 4-5 years I will probably pick up one

What do you think about e-bikes in mountain biking? This e-bike?

Yeah. I tried to get him to ride it to a bigger trail in the area, but he refused. He could not get off the e-bike fast enough.
How can you guys hate a ebike.🤣
How can you love ebikes? I ride for the exercise, not to beat other riders up the hill by cheating. : )
Horrible whining noise. Bosch powered Motus is virtually silent.
It was loud.
I don't think about e bikes at all. Not my cup of tea and especially at 15K. Man is that thing noisy..... What does a replacement battery pack cost?

$15000 for an ebike is stupid.
It is crazy expensive. More than a quality used car. : )
