Am I just making this up. Wasn’t the 90’s just more fun? Kinda cheesy but in a cheerful way? I mean would you get an audience in 2022 dancing and chanting “Go Ricki” to the Ricki Lake theme tune? Lol 😂
My childhood! One of the reasons why I always wanted to live in NYC back then. Wish I could have went to her show back then. Looks like it was the best time ever!
I remember when they cancelled her show... She didn't even get a final episode and I don't recall there being any warning for the viewers! I literally came home from school one day and Ricki wasn't on! I was devastated, Maury! Devastated!
There was indeed a final episode. It was called "Bye Bye, We're Weaving!" aired in 2004. Ricki herself didn't want Season 12 because she wanted to spend more time with her kids. There is a podcast revival of the show online called "Raised By Ricki" where Ricki Lake and co-host Kalen Allen talk about old episodes of the show. I recommend it!
If Ricki Lake continued her talk show into season 12 and the present day, it would change a few things to stay on the airwaves and it would have been the first talk show to go HD in 2007-2008
I maintain till this day that black people made this show hot back in the day. The fact that nothing but black Americans are filled in these comments is proof of that. The whole show had a black vibe in terms of how they presented it.
Out of all the 90's talk shows Ricki was always my favorite. This theme song sounds like childhood lol.
Damn the 90s just looked and felt like this warm peaceful very innocent time.
Ohhh, how I LOVED this theme music !!! ♥️
Me too

@@blackluxury5585Her hairdo in this episode is the same one my mom had in the early eighties. Maybe it’s timeless 😃
This theme song is refreshing and brings back good memories

We loved Ricki. It's evident that we created the "Go Ricki" chant and the show used it.
@@franklin8618 yes, I believe that too. It’s got a black American flow and soul to it that is unmistakable.
How do you get the 1998 season videos? I was a gist on 2 of them can you tell me how to get them? Have a great day.
