You need to realize it’s not last year’s Rubicon 520 with a new 700 cc engine. It’s the old Rincon. Honda should have never called this a Rubicon. It’s like Ford calling the Mach-E a Mustang. All marketing.
It's an awesome update to the Rincon. Tried and true tech that will outlast any machine on the market. But..but...they called it a Rubicon....wah...wah...wah! Don't cry over semantics.
That thing dressed in Rubicon is the old 680 Rincon. No low range, 3 speed transmission, no power steering, no diff lock. Damn thing doesn’t even have a trailer hitch. What a freaking joke. 38 hp. Honda could and should do a lot better.

Isn't the motor just the from the old rincon 680 they dropped? And on the new bike they call the 680 the 700. Halogens do cut threw snow and heavy rain better than led.
I get its just a Rincon 680 with new plastics, etc. But having had one, there are worse quads on the market. This will go 40k miles and support you all day on the farm.

Man, nice I've always been a Honda man, but no P/S, I recently bought a new 2024 Sportsman 570 ride command, it has power steering, and three different engine power modes, plus GPS, sorry Honda I will never buy another quad without p/s !

All this machine is, is a rebranded Rincon. Honda decided to kill off the nameplate and brand it as a Rubicon 700. The machine is great, and was ahead of it's time when it came out. It has different use case scenarios that it does really well in compared to the more utility based modern machines based off the 520 class. Please don't hate on this machine for not being a bigger version of the 520 series. Like I said, it was built to be great for trails and sport oriented things, with work as a secondary priority.

The point of the power steering on an ATV is it works perfectly when you have a front differential lock active. It’s serious work to steer with both front wheels spinning at the same time. Honda likely ditched the PS due to no front locker on this new model. IMO on this bike PS is not needed.
😅 Putting my boat in the water or hauling wood trailer in tight quarters PS is a must. To are definitely not speaking for the majority. Alao my wife loves her power stearing
This machine won't sell, anybody with half a clue knows it's not a new machine and that its just the 20 year old Rincon with different plastic I'm a Honda guy but Honda should be ashamed for offering this bike as is, they should have at least updated it with power steering and front locker and even tuned the motor a bit for more output. Honda really missed the mark with this bike that could have been potentially a great seller for buyers who wanted a bit more power then the 520. I'd buy the the 520 Rubicon over this just for those reasons.

The hardest part in all of this are the honda dealers trying to look and sound so happy about this " new model" while all the other brands...even CFMOTO !! are laughing to tears . I'm a Honda guy, I have a rancher 420 2013 and a rubicon 520 2023. My guess is that this atv will obviously do very bad in sales but honda just wants to say that , they to, have a big bore bad ass atv in their line up. And furthermore , this "new atv" is surely the one in Honda's history that has the lowest R&D invested !! Very dissapointed in Honda.

I have/ had one, POS useless in the mud, the transmission is a POS. The 3 speed transmission works to hard in the long steep inclines. I traded it with 400 miles on it and got another canam. I had a Rubicon in the 2000's unfortunately nothing has changed with Honda. Don't buy it.
This reviewer obviously does not ride much seeing he is so put out about no power steering . Driving in circles with one hand on dry pavement is a very poor place to judge the effort needed . With modern designing I am sure it is fine used as intended. I repair ATV/UTV's as a registered business and see bikes come in with Power steering issues , seeing how the units are not serviceable repairs can reach $2000 + . Honda has always been kept on the simple side to lead in reliability .Fancy options are Nice but not so much for longevity .
Why is honda so far behind on building a BIG 4 wheeer? They should build a 1000 ready for the mud to compete with other 4 wheelers. Its not a good look for honda to be so far behind other brands.

I believe this still haunts them and they’re not up for the all out power in a 4 wheel unit atv.

This machine is for the trail rider who loves Hondas reliability and doesn’t mud or rock climb. The only improvement necessary is power steering and 1 more gear since 1st gear is long. I think they pulled it into the Foreman/Rubicon line to open a new category for the ultimate 1000cc loaded atv that everyone has been asking for!!! Massive power, Power Steering, Differential Lock, No Belts to slip or break like the Can Am and Grizzly and every other ATV available, all Gear drivetrain. And most importantly Hondas reliability. Maybe this will happen or maybe not but either way Honda shouldn’t have renamed this a Rubicon because that’s deceiving to those who are new to Honda.
I've owned hondas for years but by far the 700 Rincon engine is hondas biggest flop yet you can't mix engine oil with a transmission oil it don't work you can't get the life out of the engine I've given up on honda because of the 700 I bought a 700 pioneer after 7000 miles I had to overhaul it there's nothing attractive about this machine other than new plastic I've been waiting for years for honda to come up something new but this is a big disappointment......

This needs power steering with manual shifting 6 gears with front & rear diff lock. If it had all that, id go buy one right now lol.

My opinion you don't need power steering on a four wheeler. To me it's just one more thing that can go wrong.
