Unit 03: Piaggio Apé xtra DLX passenger or Piaggio Ape Auto D35
The Piaggio Ape xtra passenger is powered by a 4 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled DI diesel engine with 436cc displacement.
I have both. Bajaj Re and Ape dlx. But i have to say i like my Piaggio ape a little bit than the bajaj re because its more reliable than my bajaj re. And does more mileage also. Around 40 kmpl. And diesel is a lot cheaper than petrol here. I have modified it a lot and and it improved the ride quality a lot too. But we don't have 5 seater here. Its prohibited by the law. Only 3 people are allowed in the back.

Does it have more power for hills and how how are these machines on those humongous speed bumps like in antipolo?
I've been to Antipolo on my Bajaj RE 4s, this has similar gradeability so it should be no problem. This has better suspension than the 4s.
So how was the shifting and do you change gears with the foot?
The shifter is on the left handle grip. Works like a Vespa twist shifter. Hold down clutch with left hand then twist.
Hello Sir, is it true that this thing runs at a max speed of 45 kph? Thank you.
When I tested it the speedometer was disabled but by my estimate it could go probably around 50-55 kph.

How does it compare to your RE?
The handling and suspension is better, it's more spacious but it's loud and slower than the RE.
kung compared po sa gas engine ng ape sa RE?
RE is still faster as it can go 60-80 kmph max, while Ape is only 55-60 kmph at best.
Makiput yung RE, Dito sa mandaue city kino customize nila ang RE pampasada like steel roof at naging 6 seater na sa likod para wala ng umupo sa side ng driver😁

Most of what you saw were probably involved in accidents. If you crash on something really hard they're intended to absorb impact. The front of three-wheelers is a crumple zone.

The engine size in this case is not really an advantage since it's a diesel engine. This is as small as it can get for tuk tuks. The xtra DLX is more spacious and has a diesel engine. If that's your thing get the DLX. If you prefer a quieter ride and doesn't mind the higher cost of fuel, go for the 4S.

Piaggio Ape Ph- Auto Hub. Basically, where yo buy it, is also where you get parts from. If you're in Metro Manila, go to Greenhills or their Quezon Avenue branch.

For private or PUV use. "Tricycle" is only for MC with sidecar, or "motorella". Piaggio Ape xtra DLX is a three-wheeler or belongs in the L5 category of motor vehicles.

@@jangomac2301 That's what they do to enable them to be used as PUV's. The legality is questionable though since an "Affidavit" of attachment of the sidecar is a requirement. Obviously, there's no sidecar so that's perjury.

They both have their strengths and weakness, I like them both. It really depends on your preference so you have to try it out for yourself. This Ape is designed to seat 5-7 passengers with no modifications required. It also has a diesel engine so it's not really fair to compare it with the RE 4s which is gasoline powered.

It was very affordable. Back then ,they offered zero percent interest for 3 years installment with free 3 years registration. ^^

Eu gosto muito de fabricantes de de piaggio mais só que me cômoda farta de acessórios por exemplo em Angola temos muitas piaggios paradas farta de acessórios
Here in my country we don't have a lot of ready made or off the shelf accessories for the Piaggio. It's either custom made/fabricated or imported.

@@junix1784 Ahh, the Closed van. Sorry I don't have the updated price. The APÉ Xtra LDX is around P 248,000 so it could be the same or a bit more. They usually use the flatbed model which is around 218k, then they put the desired customization on it.

You mean like a hand starter/kick starter? Nope, I don't think so. I didn't see one. It just has a key ignition. The Bajaj RE has it but I never really used it in an actual emergency.

That’s why we did not buy it because of the vibration and noise. Love my Baja RE!
This DLX is a Diesel thats why. There is also a Gasoline version of the Piaggio.

It has a 400cc diesel engine and has larger seating capacity. As far as I know, there's only a 10k php difference from the F.I. Bajaj RE.
