More magic from the pen & heart of old Hank told by his alter ego "Luke the Drifter". Classics & talent never to be repeated in the realm of country music.
Wow! Hank was just 29 when he left this world. I'm 42 and I've been writing since I was 15, I've been married and divorced twice. I spent a 3rd of my life in prison. And I'm still just amazed by how he could come up with such words at such a young age. How he could be in so much pain, and feel so alone. Just amazed by Hank, Sr, even now.
I've been listening to this man songs since I was 9 years old I loved him then an I still do to this day an I'm sixty. it is a shame he suffered so much an died at such a young age an a lone. I hope he is in a better place.
@@ikefox9143 I've been lucky enough to have listened as far back as a 4 year old, (now 64). I don't know what our lives would be like if not for our Dear Parents. You see, we were lucky enough to have Artists like Mr. Hank Williams and the many other Country & Western Greats, along with almost every genre of music throughout our childhood years. I listen at the least 5 days of the week to as much of his music and STILL the many other artists as possible during any of my musical sessions. I never fail to listen to " I Heard My Savior Calling Me & When the Fire Comes Down From Heaven". They both seem to be quite appropriate at this time. Hoping ALL is well with you and ypurs!
if only people knew the power of his lyrics and music today, i miss yoiu Dad, i know you loved ol Hank, and so do I, want to that you for posting this whoever is responsible, bless you all.
I listen to ole Hank most every day..after a day picking cotton my mama sat w guitar n played n sang mostly Hank williams ..they say he wrote his life..i truely think be was a man of heart and wisdom. Yet also cared re: the sorrow n pain of all mankind
My mother had all Hanks albums when I was a young kid aged 5 upwards in the 50.s 60s. She brainwashed me with him! I am now in my mid 60's and I know every word of most of his songs!
We see him and hear him playing a guitar. But I have never heard anything virtuosic enough to consider him a great musician, and most certainly not the greatest musician that ever lived. This is preposterous. What obviously distinguished him was his genius for songwriting. He was an average vocalist at best. He WAS a man to be admired and respected for all time! Milton Moore
@@thecrushedtwinkie6632 Being a great vocalist is irrelevant in this case. His voice made these songs. Listen to the covers by singers with much better voices, and it's easy to hear which is the better version.
hanks brilliance was his simplicity.anyone could listen to his songs & connect with him.ANYONE!! they didnt call him the hillbilly shakespeare for no reason.
yeah, not to mention all of these award shows. Seems every few weeks and here comes another high falootin' award show again. Too many, too often so now they sickin' me

Never be another Hank Williams
His music was true honest music. Trying to warn all of his mistakes.
as Luke the Drifter, Ol' Hank sure could tell a heart wrenching story. I don't care what anyone says, NO ONE can beat out Hank for the music he made.

how true are his songs
Many memories from this song...Good and Bad...
The painful stuff. The real stuff.
I love this song. I relate to it because I've been an outcast my whole life.
same here, sorry to say...
Those songs remind me for my youth.
I hope Hank realised how great he was !!
Tell it like it is the greatest musician c that ever lived

Even though Hank Sr. Died exactly 9 months to the day; I grew up with his music. All my life. And that's been 65 years. Hank lives on.
There was a lot of truth in his songs.

My life
from yester year
Hank Williams sr
What an innocent world he lived in. Today's other side is homeless drug addicts, veteran suicides, police brutality, mass shootings, etc., etc.
yeah, not to mention all of these award shows. Seems every few weeks and here comes another high falootin' award show again. Too many, too often so now they sickin' me
man the luck!!
