Ive now completed one rug and on to my second. I really love this pattern however I must say putting stitch markers at the start of each pattern sequence (18) stitches was a life saver. If I miss counted it meant I only had to involve the last 18 stitches. This really worked for me and meant I could zone out in front of the TV a little easier. Ha ha ha
What a lovely pattern. I’m glad you’ve chosen to upload patterns on your channel, because I remember when you didn’t post patterns just yarn. I think this kinda content should help your channel grow. Especially as you’re very good at teaching and explaining things that new knitters might get caught out on. Keep up the great work. 👏🏼🧶
Did you do solid color stripes? Or truly scrappy?? I have a lot of scraps, but it includes small amounts and a lot of variegated. I was wondering if it would look good, or if the pattern would get lost
Thanks for sharing I've been knitting all my life also having knitting machines throughout my life now i just enjoy hand knitting and it helps with my arthritis in my wrists I've done many patterns but seeing your tutorial i was amazed at the way you did the last stitch i had never thought of doing that before and I totally agree with you it does make a neater edge but I found by knitting into the back of the first stitch on the next row there's no loop thank you so much for this beautiful pattern 💕💓💞👍🌟👏
Great pattern 1 day Love the Chevron blanket completed my second. I too put a marker at the beginning of each pattern. This was a game changer for me. Thanks for the great and easy to follow tutorials
Hi Laurelin, your chevron blanket is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your tutorial and for showing how to weave in your ends as that's another new technique for me to learn. X
Thank you!! I love it!! And I think I understand everything up to the weaving in of the tails... ..which I just couldn't see on my phone. LOL But I think I can wing it, or watch again on my computer
Oooooh i have yarn in shades of turqupise and aqua + white and need to get a sandy colour.... i think my seascape inspired blanket will work well in this pattern..... adding this to my growing to do list. And you are really easy to follow...you explain very clearly for beginners.
I tried using Lion Brand’s Heartland with a crochet chevron pattern but found it wasn’t a good choice of pattern for the yarn-the yarn seemed to stretch. Going to knit the chevron pattern and have learned your tutorials are the “best” and “easiest” to follow. I am going to try and make the “hills” and “valleys” deeper by adding 2 extra stitches-10 stitches instead of 8 and 9 stitches instead of 7 and hoping it will work. Thank you for the time you spend sharing your wonderful blanket patterns. They are very much appreciated.
I made a note of this the other day and wrote "kfb". I immediately said "oh no" bc I kept writing kfb instead of kbl in other patterns. For the first time it really WAS kfb!
Hi! It’s a one row repeat, so every row is the same. On the back it looks slightly different because of the colour changes but the texture is the same.
You are so kind to reply. I thought that’s what you meant but when I knit the 2nd row, it seems like it’s not lined up, I’m so worried it will not line up. Obviously it does for you. I’ve started over 3-4 x already trying to figure this all out, but so far no luck with that!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Re: Placing stitch markers I placed the stitch markers at the end of each pattern repeat, knit 1, place marker, pattern 18, *place marker, pattern 18*, to last stitch, place marker, knit one. I know it means there are a lot of markers but I know that if i count 17 or 19 that i have made a mistake in that section and i don't have to take the whole row out.
That’s not something I can easily answer - it depends on the yarn weight used and the size of needles, I would knit up a small sample, measure and weigh it and then you’ll get a good idea of how much j you’d need
If I wanted to do a longer chevron, I could theoretically do k15, k2t, then k14 and kfb? Or something along those lines, just always doing one less on the second knit?
could this be made with Super Bulky (#6) yarn and a larger needle (13)? I started a chevron knit pattern from another site but it has double decreases and double increases. For some reason I keep getting my stitch count off at the end of the rows! I am not a beginner at all and have followed many intricate patterns, however I am ready to quit this one and try yours (which seems very straight forward. I do want to use the Super Bulky yarn I have. so I guess I'm just wondering if you think it would work.
@@SnufflebeanYarn Thank you I'm going to try it! I purchased your ad-free pattern from your Etsy Shop. Your tutorial was very clear so I can't wait to start. My 14 year old grandson requested COAL & SAND in Bernat Blanket Yarn (#6) so I am excited to work on this!
It’s thicker yarn than I used so if you cast on the same amount of stitches as I did your blanket will be bigger - the 7 skeins you have will more than likely be enough, if you want the blanket the same size as mine you’ll need to cast on less stitches as you’re working with thicker yarn.
@@SnufflebeanYarn Thank you so much so appreciated your quick answer you made my day I will start with the blanket now with confident Honestly you are amazing thank you again 😊
@@SnufflebeanYarn I would like to make a big blanket for our bed - I only want something lightweight - I've bought most of the yarn already - only need 2 more colours and will be using 4mm needles... But i don't know how many stitches to put on... My yarn is DK acrylic. Can you please help?
Currently completed first row. As I start second row I’m noticing additional stitches (perhaps from the slip purl-wise). Should there be an extra stitch? If so, wouldn’t that misplace following stitch pattern?
@@micaiahmoore I do think beginners would like to know how, which is why I plan to cover it in another video so that I can refer beginners to that one video rather than covering it in every video I film.
Oh ok gotcha! 😀 In honesty I didn’t find Maria’s comment rude, my videos are not aimed at complete beginners which is why I am trying to film separate videos that encompass techniques beginners might need in addition.

I've made this blanket using up all my leftover yarn. It looked wonderful! This is my go to pattern for afghans!

If that works for you then fantastic 😀
I got about 20 rows in and lost my place I agree I’m going to start over with stitch markers😢

Thank you.. Anne... 😉
It’s approx 60 x 80cm and I think I used about 300g of dk weight yarn total but I didn’t weigh it.

I haven’t made a scarf in afraid, you’d need to test out which number of stitches would give you the right width. 😊

If you’re going to knit a big blanket I would definitely go for a bulky weight yarn and try the same amount of stitches?

If you have the correct cast on and have worked the repeat correctly then that shouldn’t be the case as this is definitely a 1 row repeat 🙂
