  • Knit this funky modern colour block Chevron Blanket with me!
    Makes for a perfect baby gift in bright modern colours. It's knitted in garter stitch, using a simple increase and decrease to create the points and troughs of the chevron. This is a great blanket for a beginner who has mastered the basic knit stitch and wants to tackle something slightly more adventurous.

    Ive now completed one rug and on to my second. I really love this pattern however I must say putting stitch markers at the start of each pattern sequence (18) stitches was a life saver. If I miss counted it meant I only had to involve the last 18 stitches. This really worked for me and meant I could zone out in front of the TV a little easier. Ha ha ha

    What a lovely pattern. I’m glad you’ve chosen to upload patterns on your channel, because I remember when you didn’t post patterns just yarn. I think this kinda content should help your channel grow. Especially as you’re very good at teaching and explaining things that new knitters might get caught out on. Keep up the great work. 👏🏼🧶

    Nice pattern. What yarn do you recommend for baby blanket without using acrylic yarn? I prefer something natural like wool but soft. Would I use merino or superwash? What brand do you recommend?

    • @SnufflebeanYarn
      @SnufflebeanYarn  Год назад

      Personally I use acrylic for it’s easy care nature so I’m not really best placed to reccomend a natural fibre yarn. Bamboo yarn or a bamboo cotton mix could be a nice soft option.

    • @christinenewell2679
      @christinenewell2679 Год назад

      My knitting and crochet work is back to basics since I had a stroke……. All I do is baby blankets and baby hats etc. I use mostly acrylic and I find them lovely and soft. I agree with the bamboo ranges , they are lovely and soft also but I think my favourite wools are Debbi Bliss. She has a very wide range of wools, very very soft and squishy. The draw back for me would be the cost of these natural wools, merino etc.

      I agree with regards to using a good quality Acrylic. If you are knitting for a hospital baby unit, they prefer the use of acrylic, as that yarn is usually easycare, and washes well, and is hypoallergenic @@christinenewell2679

    • @SnufflebeanYarn

      It’s thicker yarn than I used so if you cast on the same amount of stitches as I did your blanket will be bigger - the 7 skeins you have will more than likely be enough, if you want the blanket the same size as mine you’ll need to cast on less stitches as you’re working with thicker yarn.

    • @SnufflebeanYarn

      If you have the correct cast on and have worked the repeat correctly then that shouldn’t be the case as this is definitely a 1 row repeat 🙂
